We sailed Aug. 3-7 on the Serenade to Progresso Yucatán peninsula Mexico. The cruise was awesome and relaxing, we booked a balcony room based on what I’ve read on the forum. We thought the food was really good and the the crew were really spot on. I did a lot of this on sea days and evenings.

We sailed on Serenade back in August and we got cups even though there is no freestyle machine, it actually confused us a bit.

I just want to give a big thank you to everyone that answered all my questions and offered advice, you really helped our first cruise experience. We had such a great time that we are set to book our second. Once again everyone, THANK YOU

If you mean for the MDR, we didn’t go every night, we did go the 2nd night/formal night/dress your best and the menu was French, third night was Caribbean, we did go the last night although I can’t remember the theme.

Hi again everyone! Just curious if tags are required for carry ons, and if so can I just check them in if I don’t need anything in the case?

What do you do when….you disembark early and your check in at the hotel is 3:00pm and you have at least 3 bags of luggage?

Our check in time is 11:00-11:30 so that most likely means our cabin won’t be ready until later in the afternoon so do we receive our Seapass upon boarding or will it be in our cabin when it’s ready? If we don’t receive it until later does that mean we can’t order drinks or go to one of the specialty restaurants once we board?

UPDATE We did it! We drove into the city, parked, went in and applied! Seriously wasn’t as bad as I thought and took no time at all. Now drinks!!

I’ve made appointments at 4 different POs in the last 2 weeks they all were canceled the morning of, so it looks like our first excursion is going to be heading into the city.

According to the website we have to apply in person, I found that we can go to the City/County building and do it, I just don’t want to drive into the city.

The post office keeps canceling our appointments to apply for passports, where we live post offices are the only place to apply and this happened with multiple locations, we sail in august going to Yucatán

I thought I understood the difference although now after reading some of the threads I’m not sure I do anymore. (I’m a newbie and I apologize in advance for a question that I’m sure has been answered many times over.)

We are sailing on Serenade in August and it will be our very first cruise and this thread has made me more excited about the ship that we picked. Thanks for describing all of your experiences on board.

@SweetPea Curious how you did that, did you take them to one of the bars or lounges to be added to your drinks? Or did you somehow manage to make them in your room?

Thanks @MaryCS62 I did that and it worked!! We are sailing on a 4 nighter to the Yucatán on Serenade in August and I’m guessing night 3 will be Mexican(since we’ll be in Mexico)instead of Italian hopefully we’ll get the Caribbean also.

Hi, why does the app only show the kids menu for the MDR? Will they show it when the sail date gets closer? We are trying to plan our eating schedule depending on the new different theme nights.

@ScottD Should I make the reservation first then email the request? Or email the request and they make the reservation?

My wife and I watched all your vlogs over the weekend and just watched the latest one, we really enjoy them

Ok. How do I do that? Do I leave a note when I make the reservation online or do I go see the head waiter when we board?

Hi everyone, my wife will be sailing on our first cruise in August and we’re wondering if we book a “my time dining” reservation for 2 will we actually get a table for 2 or will we be seated with other people?
