Censored
Can anybody confirm how buying a minimum of 100 shares gives you perks and OBC with every cruise?
cruisellama
https://www.rclinvestor.com/contact-us/faqs/shareholder-benefit/ This provides the run down on the process. Can fill out a form on-line and provide proof of ownership then get $100 OBC on the cruise

wordell1
At today's stick price, it would take 75 week long cruises to get back the expense of buying the stock. I wouldn't buy it just to get the perk. Neesa, WAAAYTOOO, teddy and 1 other
Riley
For frequent cruising it's totally worth it. Note that the stock award varies by length of cruise - short cruises are $50 (less than 5 days, if I recall) mid cruises (6 to 13) is $100 and long (14 days +) are $250. Whereas yes, it would take many, many cruises to recoup the cost, I look at it as the equivalent of a dividend. I own 200 shares (the award is per cabin and sometimes my spouse and I travel in two cabins, so this way we both get the perk) and am receiving the equivalent of well over a 10% dividend while the stock recovers. t Even if it doesn't increase a dime over what I paid for it, that's a really nice return. Couldn't have said it better. Treat it like a dividend and it's a pretty decent investment for frequent cruisers. At today's close the "yield" is over 1.2% for each week cruise you take. For comparison the S&P 500 yield has hovered around 1.5% the past few years.
Va4fam
Can you use the "perk" on a cruise that is already booked but has not sailed yet?
TelecomTom
Don't think if paying for the stock purchase with the "perk". However, looking at it as a dividend in addition to any dividend the stock pays it looks pretty good depending on how often you cruise each year. And, it's nice having a little tax free spending money on board.

Traveling Mike
I already have stocks and mutual funds in my IRA. Not a lot but enough to help my retirement. The Cruise Stock is just one of them that I added. When the cruise stock took a dump because of covid I purchased a lot more. If the stock goes back to where it was before covid I will triple or quadruple my money. In the meantime, I am getting OBC just for owning the stock. Like the others say ... it's a nice dividend. ChrisK2793
I hadn’t heard of this perk before ….. myself, my spouse, and our 10yo son all have over 100 shares since the Covid drop ….. would all 3 of us be able to claim $100 OBC each on the same cruise? The benefit is only available for the stateroom in which the shareholder (with a minimum of 100 shares) is sailing. Onboard credit is applied on a per stateroom basis, double occupancy. Only one shareholder credit per stateroom on any one sailing. If shares are held jointly, 100 shares are required for each onboard credit request on any one sailing. Yes - the perk is offered as an onboard credit, not a discount off the booking.
recogneyes
We've enjoyed having the shareholder's credit applied to some of our cruises. I have been advised by the shareholder dept that complimentary sailings / casino sailings are not eligible for the credit but I'm wondering if anyone has had any success when paying to upgrade a casino offer. Does paying to upgrade now change this from a complimentary sailing and thus allowing for the credit to be applied?

I have been been told repeatedly that you cannot. In fact, had an email to that effect just today.
