I wish RCL would capitalize on their current popularity by improving the food quality in the MDR. Seems to be an opportunity ripe for the taking to further differentiate themselves from the likes of Carnival, Disney, NCL and MSC. Thumper44, PPPJJ-GCVAB and Jjohnb 2 1 Quote

For cruisers, NOT shareholders, Jason Liberty is the worst thing that has ever happened to Royal Caribbean. I don't get how stock value translates to good customer experience. BB1 Posted June 9 Report Posted June 9 I have been crushing for 25 years and cruises have improved dramatically in every way. People make such negative comments but I guess I'm lucky in that my experience has only improved. That's why I bought the stock, again luckily at a dirt cheap price. I remember over the years watching many cruisers getting this entitled angry attitude over time. We called them the angry cruisers. I guess many are still around. Jjohnb 1 Quote

The food in the MDR is just ok, in my experience. It stands out as the one area that I don't gush about when trying to convince everyone in my life to cruise on RC. I'm always, "Here's ten things you'll absolutely love! …and the food is alright." Carlos A. 1 Quote
smokeybandit Posted June 9 Report Posted June 9 I like the food on RC. I agree it's not going to win any Michelin stars, but I rarely have a bad meal. I do wish they'd have more late night options though. Thumper44 and Floski 2 Quote

This guy represents loyalty in every way so if they did decide to make drastic program changes, what would they do with his situation? Quote
WAAAYTOOO Posted July 8 Report Posted July 8 Even if they did yank Mario's status (which they would never, ever do), it would take him no time to get back to being #1 again. PPPJJ-GCVAB, tonyfsu21 and HeWhoWaits 2 1 Quote

It would still be a disaster though. The amount of time and resources the company has burned through to essentially make this guy an unpaid brand ambassador would all be tossed into a dumpster fire. While Super Mario is a great an interesting story to some of us the 'time and resources' from the company is less than the equivalent of you dropping a penny over the side of a ship and they wouldn't hesitate to burn him to improve the bottom line. tonyfsu21 1 Quote

Haha. I agree, the new leadership under Liberty would burn this guy in a second but it would be such a bad look for the company. This guy is the # 1 and literally is the living definition of Royal Caribbean loyalty. Tossing Mario to the curb has some consequences attached to it. Could the company ever have the audacity to hold another loyalty tier party? All that crap the captain, hotel and cruise director (including the orchestra) spew out to the crown and anchor members would all be set ablaze. GatorCruiser, WAAAYTOOO and Jjohnb 2 1 Quote
AshleyDillo Posted July 11 Report Posted July 11 In my opinion in the grand scheme of things, Mario doesn't move the needle either way. He's just one cruiser sailing in one cabin and the perks he gets on each sailing really don't affect the bottom line all that much. WAAAYTOOO 1 Quote
