griffinjam22
Hello! For upcoming cruise we have the at home test ordered through RC. But getting a bit nervous about it and want to have a back up test scheduled at Walgreens nearby just in case. Since rapid antigen test is not available in my area, I see they have a test called ID Now which provides results within 24 hrs. Based on what I read on RC website I believe this test is accepted, right? Has anyone done this test at Walgreens and can verify it qualifies? Thanks! I used Walgreen's Rapid ID Now test for my Allure sailing. I got the results after 15 minutes. No problems encountered at embarkation at all. cdixon22, cruisellama, heffy2 and 1 other
cruisellama
Reading about some blow back posted on FB regarding "expired" tests being sent. Granted there's a 3 month extension on those tests , but some are now receiving tests with expired date stamps (manufacturer or distributor are dumping old inventory). Jolly Ogre
Are we sure that the Walgreen's Rapid ID Now is ok. It clearly states that only rapid antigen or PCR tests are valid for boarding.

For US sailings yes, per: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/if-need-an-rt-pcr-test-before-i-cruise-where-should-i-go More on Abbott Brand Tests We get a lot of questions about Abbott tests, the most commonly available COVID-19 test brand. Here’s what’s accepted. Any Abbott brand test administered on site by a pharmacy technician or other health professional is accepted. This includes the common Abbot ID NOW test administered by many pharmacies. The test provider must provide you with a proper results document (no handwritten notes). emmef

I did the same thing for my Symphony OTS cruise but I didn't need the at home test at all. As long as your test was administered 2 days (they don't care about the hours) prior to sailing. In all the three times I have sailed since cruising returned - Allure (Sep), Freedom (Oct) and Odyssey (disembarked today) - my pre-cruise tests were all Walgreens Rapid ID tests. I’ve encountered no issues whatsoever. Jolly Ogre and MikeK 1

Yes the Rapid ID Now test is acceptable as it is a NAAT (nucleic acid amplification test) which is also allowed by RCL. hope this helps
IRMO12HD
2nd Question about Walgreens testing in Florida -- is it possible to walk through the Drive Through and get tested, or do you have to be in a vehicle?
IzzyB
Not sure if you could do that. But CVS is another option and I know the one near us is not drive thru, it is a separate building off to the side.

This was in the email they sent me. I guess you would fall under “not having a vehicle”
WAAAYTOOO
Doubtful that any business would allow you to walk through a drive-through. There is a liability issue for them.
