I just recently did a decent amount of research into the the legalities of CBD oil and traveling with it as I was going to be buying some for the first time. My personal, not lawyer opinion, is that it is in enough of a legal grey area that there is no way on gods green earth I would take CBD oil or any other cannabis derived substance on either a plane or a cruise ship. The risk is just too great for being caught and an overzealous security agent treating it the same as if you were smuggling meth or something. I don’t even have anxiety (I was looking into it for back pain) but just the possibility of something like that happening would make me far too anxious for the benefits to outweigh the risks. I’ve read on some cannabis advocate websites that it is legal to travel with CBD oil, but I’ve read enough articles about people being stopped and arrested in airports (even since the law change)  and noticed it’s explicitly called out as not allowed on planes that I would just never try it.

I would absolutely cruise before there is a vaccine, but I could also see this making me more likely to spend more time on my balcony for now vs the pool deck.

After booking several cruise on my own, I finally went with a travel agent and booked my latest cruise. I was originally supposed to cruise last year, but at the last minute, RC charted the ship and we lost our cruise. For our troubles, they gave us $300 OBC. I was able to eventually find my current cruise set for Nov. 8 this year on the Oasis. I booked an interior room like I always do. To me, I just cant justify spending the extra money on a balcony when I am only in my room to change clothes and sleep. It's just not worth it. Would I like a balcony? Heck yea, but just not willing to pay for it.
Anyway, my travel agent just called me and said, would I still like a balcony? I said, "Yes" but I didn't want to pay extra for it. He said, you aren't! Apparently there must be a lot of cancellations for the Nov cruise as he moved me from an interior room to a ocean view balcony and my cruise price actually went down by $10.00 ?
I guess I am a believer now in having a TA. I doubt I would have ever found this out on my own. Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that the Oasis cruises in November. I would assume, if it gets cancelled for whatever reason, I would hope that I still get a ocean view balcony on a future cruise??? Just had to share my good fortunes. Fingers crossed now for my cruise to move forward now!!!

Just bailed on our Allure Med cruise for September. We used Lift & Switch to change to Harmony.
First time ever working with @michelle from MEI and she sorted it all out in the blink of an eye. So glad we took the plunge and asked her to look after our booking.
The current price of the Harmony cruise is more than double what we paid for Allure and now we have something to look forward to rather than worry about.

Another quote from the Q&A w/ Michael Bayley:
"Through the lens of COVID-19, it's really about density and space. I think people may assume because there's less people on a smaller ship, that makes it better, but that's really not correct. A larger ship has a lot more space."
Bingo! Exactly what I was thinking when some folks felt smaller ships are much "safer" or "better" to sail on under these circumstances.
Density is the absolute key. I'd much rather be spread out on a huge Oasis class ship with all of the ocean view and interior balconies, all of the neighborhoods like Central Park and the Boardwalk, huge split pool deck, huge mostly open solarium, huge sports area, etc. Tons of dining options to spread out... on and on. The smaller, older ships are much more limited when it comes to open air deck space and number of balconies, but they'll figure it out!

I came on the blog to talk about the importance of TAs and saw this thread that ties into my point. So my sailing that we had is a 3 person sailing and we paid around $3,400 total for our JS (excluding taxes and port fees). I got an email from Royal today telling us we got our FCC issued! Very exciting! Except it’s for 2 of 3 passengers and only for $420 each which is NOWHERE near the realm of what we should have gotten, not even taking the 125% aspect into account.

All I had to do was forward that to @michelle basically going “what in the world???” And she replies back within hours (emphasis mine) “yes all the ones they just did this week are all wrong
We will get it all straightened out – so frustrating.

I will take care of it so no worries”

The amount of relief I felt when I found out I wouldn’t have to wait on hold to argue with Royal is legit invaluable. I can’t believe this level of service is free to me. @Matt is SO right when he says that you think you don’t need a travel agent until you really, really do.
