It is Cruise Day!!!!

Last month when I boarded Allure, I was onboard and done with muster by 10:18, has whatever happened with her been fixed?

Yeah they were boarding already at 10:20 when we got there. Just had to wait about 10 minutes before we could board. And I’m hoping it’s fixed. I know last Monday they left really late as they were working on electrical issues. So far seems ok

And that wasn't a fluke. I know you were just on all 3 ships at PC but as far back as last June, Terminal 1 ships have begun boarding well before the "earliest" time slot of 10:30.

Oh I know, we were on board barely after 10am on Wonder. The only reason boarding was weird on Mariner was it was the outside-like terminal and people boarding Carnival was in our terminal, despite the many announcements. The fact that they board so early and efficiently at PC is the only saving grace. It is so far from the airport, and well anything is why it's my least favorite FL port. The transportation time and fees are a real killer.

So yesterday was a pretty chill day. We were both pretty tired. Wife was in the spa from about 1-5. I did the flowrider, got a little work done, and watched the sail away around 4.  We had MTD which I hate at 6:45 and it was a total zoo. Line wrapped around the stairwell. After dinner we did a little shopping and walked around the track. We were supposed to see aqua show at 10:15 but we were rocking and it was pretty windy so that was cancelled. We were both pretty exhausted from being up at 6am so the wife went to bed. I decided to hit the casino for a little bit, but should have just gone to bed. It didn’t go well. Here’s some pictures from dinner, and yes both of the cheesecakes are for me. Don’t judge me, I’m on vacation 😂😂

You know you're not getting any judgment from me. My wife combines the cookies with the soft serve in a cup on CocoCay but now I'll ask if she wants cookies with the real ice cream in the MDR. Good call. Indian food! 😋

Pretty over cast and windy today at PDCC. Luckily we got the hideaway pretty cheap after some price drops($26.99), because with the cold Caribbean water and not great weather we didn’t stay long. I would say in warmer months it’s probably worth and upcharge here as it was not overly crowded, plenty of seats available, and the no kids is an added benefit. I think around $30/person probably worth it. If they start going crazy and trying to get $80, I wouldn’t pay that for it. Now we are just back on the ship relaxing in the solarium. Will head back to the flowrider this afternoon as I still need a lot of practice. Then mama Mia at 5 tonight.

For you duck hiding people I found this in the stairwell. I’m not really into the duck thing, but my wife drives a jeep and there is a whole duck thing with that(which I totally don’t understand), so I figured since I saw this I would grab it for her. She was so excited.

Funny you mention that. My wife grabbed one for her student teacher in October b/c she drives a Jeep.

I had a Jeep Cherokee in the 90’s but if there was a duck thing back then I never got the memo.

Is it loud all over or just by the pool? And did you try any of the food?

Just by the pool, and honestly it wasn’t even all that loud today. It did get louder as the day went on. We went to the far end by the cabanas with their own pool. Plenty of open seating and pretty quiet. Nice to relax in the hammocks in the water. I just had some stuff from the snack shack. Burger, cheese sticks. Ice cream. Burger wasn’t very good. Cheese sticks were good, and can’t go wrong with ice cream 😂

So recap yesterday afternoon. First, my flowriding still needs some work. As a teacher @Lovetocruise2002 would probably give me a D so far. We were supposed to see Mama Mia at 5, but for some reason it was cancelled and doesn’t look like it’s been added to today so guess we are going to miss that. So instead on the recommendation of @Mattwe decided to do a specialty dining and go to 150 Central Park since we had never eaten there before. The food and service were both awesome. I will have to get my wife to send me some of the pictures she took because I was bad and kept forgetting to take pictures. Here are a couple I took. For appetizers she had a Velute soup or whatever it was called, I had the scallops, and we shared the braised short rib. OMG, that short rib was amazing. Then we had the beef tenderloin for 2 as our entree and for dessert she had some peanut butter thing and of course I had to get the fried cheesecake.

After dinner we decided to try and see if we could get into the Aqua show since ours was cancelled the night before and it was rescheduled for today, but we had other plans tonight at that time. We ended up being able to watch it from the tables at the bar right behind the Aqua theater. While the show doesn’t come close to Aqua 80’s the performed still just amaze me at how talented they are. After that went to studio B and saw the end of battle of the sexes(the men were bad, they couldn’t even tie the balloon) and then stayed for the quest. The quest was just ok, I think it’s one of those things after you’ve seen it enough it gets a little old. By then it was midnight and this old man was exhausted so it was bedtime.

On the docket for today I think the wife is going to enjoy the thermal spa some more. She went yesterday for awhile when I was at the flowrider. She was supposed to be doing it with me, but got cold feet. I will probably hit the flowrider for a good portion of the day. We are docked in Nassau and we don’t intend to get off. Tonight we have Blades and the Comedy Club.

Nonsense. You wouldn’t have gotten that blue band if it was what bad. And you just have to keep practicing. It took Hubby at least 3-4 cruises where he was solely devoted to the FlowRider before he got somewhat decent.

Agreed. Can't remember where, someone's live blog I think, but we talked about that recently. We mostly stopped going a while ago, popped in for a bit of it in October after a show let out and left.

I think it was @GregD's blog where we discussed that and I said I was right there along you guys in that we stopped going too.

Your good vibes helped. Definitely a few better runs at it this afternoon. Getting a little more comfortable. I have mastered the falling down though. I have some pretty good battle scars on my elbows and hip 😂

Ahhhhh but is it really free?   😂

Well I’m hoping if it gets better tonight it could really be free. I did 2 cruises this year to get to prime and so far I am still a little ahead in total. Worst case I’m not going to let it go negative so it should be a “free” cruise. But even then with gratuities, travel to Florida from IL, pampering the wife at the spa, there really is no such thing as a “free” cruise 😂😂

Just getting caught up here. It was full speed ahead when we got back from our cruise, and I have not had time to read things.

I am just getting into golf, and I'm very jealous you got to play those courses. Looking at the pictures though gave me anxiety thinking of all the places that I know my ball would go.....Sand, water...structures......

CP150, it interesting how the menu is supposed to be standardized, yet we got the "peanut butter thing" too and it looked nothing like yours. I'm sure yours was still delicious though.

Have a good round this morning!!

Hey everyone, sorry I fell off.  I came down not feeling well around dinner time on Sunday.  Sunday night and yesterday I felt pretty much like dog crap, but glad to be feeling better today.  So to quickly finalize, the rest of sunday afternoon was more flowrider time.  I was happy that I ended with my best run.  I think I was up to a C+.  After the flowrider went to the casino again and it yet again was not kind.  My "free" cruise for being prime became not as great as if I would have won or just broke even on this cruise.  Well it's like @Matt says, it is gambling so definitely don't do it just trying to get status.  After that was getting ready for dinner and was when I could tell something was starting to not feel right.  I thought maybe it was just the sun or maybe a little dehydration as I definitely wasn't drinking enough water while being out on the flowrider.  I headed to dinner in the MDR and didn't even eat all my French Onion Soup.  That is when I knew something was definitely wrong as I love that soup.  I didn't even make it through the main course and told my wife to tell the waiter to cancel my dessert and I went back to the room.  I was down and out for the night, which was really disappointing as we were supposed to see Blades and go to the comedy club.

Monday I still wasn't feeling well so didn't even get a last breakfast before disembarking.  We got off around 8am carrying our own luggage since we just had 2 bags.  There was a little bit of a line, but it moved relatively quickly.  Then in the terminal there was a decent line if you were using birth certificates, but luckily we had passports so didn't even need to get them out and just walked right through with facial recognition.  Then drove back to my dad's house where my wife was able to do some work so she didn't have to take a vacation day.  And unfortunately I wasn't able to get another round of golf in since I felt like crap.  Then we headed to the airport around 7pm for our 9pm flight.  Was a little bumpy landing in Chicago as they were having some pretty bad storms.  I have to give it to my wife though, she NEVER drives, but since I wasn't feeling well she drove the 2 hour drive home in a torrential downpour and lightning bolts flashing to the ground everywhere.  That is true love.  Anyways, I know this wasn't as exciting as most of the blogs on here, but thanks for following along.  Glad to be feeling better and getting to sleep in my own bed last night.  Now just have to wait  178 days until the Icon cruise, and then figure out what I am going to book with my prime certificate when I get it.  I'm thinking of trying get Wonder in while it is still doing 7 night cruises.

Sorry you wound up not feeling well and glad it has passed. Any blog is a good blog in my book!

I wholeheartedly support the Wonder idea... but you could have guessed that. My wife finally said "No more Wonder!" when this last batch of cruises was released so we're moving on to Utopia B2B's after the Wonders.

Thanks.  Yeah I figure Wonder is a good idea as I definitely want to do that ship some day, and until I can be retired and/or live in florida where it's easier to just take a weekend cruise I don't see me booking it anytime soon if I don't use this opportunity.

Thanks.  Your cruise seemed to be a ton of fun as I was following along, and that is always the problem as soon as we get back it seems like it's non stop.  I'm certainly not a great golfer, but am very fortunate to have been able to play a few places like Copperhead and Rich Harvest Farms that not many people get to play.  And I would definitely be lying if I told you I wasn't in several of the sand traps, some of the water, and I believe I even hit a structure or two 😂.  Was sad didn't get to play yesterday again with my dad 1 more time before we left, but he said he pulled his hammy on saturday playing tennis, so probably worked out.

Sorry you felt bad towards the end of the cruise. Not the best way to end, but glad to hear that you are enjoying on the mend. Might I suggest booking the last 7 night sailing on Wonder before it heads to Miami? 8/17/2025 😉

That will be outside my 1 year for the prime, but maybe I get prime again next year and book with that one!  Is your hubby going to be on that one and need a flowrider companion 😂
