I asked a supervisor in the dining room the same question. She said absolutely they are supposed to ask, and we are expected to answer on the survey that they did ask. It's a good thing.

Recently on Odyssey, after two days with no hard-copy Compass, we thought they were a thing of the past. Then on day-3, and every day for the duration, we had a Compass waiting for us on our bed.

My curse is to overpack.
Part of my excuse... it's winter where I get on the plane. So I'm wearing winter clothes. Need another set to fly home in. And another set in case I spill on myself. 4 pairs of shoes. I only actually wore 2. 2 pairs of dress pants. Wore 1. About 6 extra shirts, again just in case I spill on myself. See how all this works?
My system has yet to fail me.

Apparently, lobster tastes vary wildly.
I love lobster. One of my all time favorite foods. It has always been delicious on every ship we've been on, as recently as on Odyssey a couple weeks ago.
When we did our Northeast cruise a couple years ago, we had lobster rolls at two different places in Maine. The lobster in both places was so bland, I question the hype of Maine lobster. Maybe they serve canned lobster to the tourists.

I agree, the cup is a Royal Pain to haul around, so I don't. But I sure have a cupboard full of them still in the wrapper.
The final straw for me, was on a cruise, the self-serve soda machines stunk so badly, I've never again attempted to use them.
I'm much better off with the deluxe or refreshment package, going to any bar and asking for a soda pop...in the can or in a glass, my choice.

Tonight I was planning a roundtrip flight from PDX to MIA. When I clicked ACCEPT, I got a message saying my airfare has now gone from $2500 to $7200, and they warned me that it is wise to accept a deal as soon as it's posted. I did!
I've seen what I thought were big fare increases in a short period of time, but this is the Mother Lode of fare increases.

I just got off Odyssey March 6th. Free drinks (Prime) in the casino were ENDLESS.

No I have not. But the sake part sounds okay.

I've gotten along quite well without my cruise being a video game.
My Wife was insistent I download the app, so I did. She lived and breathed via the app on our last cruise, and I used the app for nothing.
Anyone can use the app as much or as little as they see fit.

I just got off Odyssey, Mar 6th. We watched more shows in the Royal Theatre than on any other cruise. No reservations were required for any show. And no show was at capacity. Folks that arrived at showtime were easily seated, as were folks who came late.
And The Book? Folks were very polarized, but more folks hated it than liked it. I knew I wouldn't care for it... so I didn't attend.

I did contact them, they are looking into it. But as a scientist by training, I look for patterns and had wondered if having outstanding FCC was the variable that was at play. Made sense to just ask (small n, even so) We shall see!
I understand.
Not unlike the pattern I'm discovering on RoyalUp bidding. Folks are winning their bids with tiny bids. I offered a maximum bid and won squat. The pattern would be, bid just a little bit. Or I might just give up on figuring patterns.

No, I had no FCC pending, but at times I had a refund pending. As long as Royal is cruising, I'm easily receiving a couple offers per week. My wife receives them also. I personally had not cruised since Fall/2019. My wife cruised once more Fall/2019, and another at the end of 2021. And the free offers continued, both in the mail and on emails.
And we cruised Odyssey last week, the first time for me since the shutdown. As we entered our cabin, there was already another free offer waiting for us on the desk. A really good offer. Anything 7-to-9 nights, Jr. Suite, anywhere they go.
I played a lot during this last cruise, but other times I played enough to barely be Prime in the casino. My Wife plays very minimally.
So, seems there is no reason I'm on any different list than anybody else. They want to fill up ships and they're doing whatever it takes.
I would contact Casino Royale and ask if you've been forgotten.

And our free offers have increased dramatically.
Go figure.

On Odyssey now, and they're smoking like chimneys, both in the casino and in the special smoking area on the pool deck.

And we just saw the Passing Zone. Thoroughly entertaining and kid friendly.
Don't know how they did everything they do but the show was terrific!!

Hello Wayno,
It is awesome that you are on Odyssey right. I bet you are having a great time. I will be on Odyssey in ten days. Would you mind sharing some details with me? I am traveling with little kids and any info helps.
1. How long was the check in process?
2. Did you have any issues reserving complimentary slots for activities such as North Star?
3. I heard last week there was only one show running. Are all the shows back? Showgirl, the book, the defectors? How long were the lines before the show starts and how long was the wait? Are those shows good for kids?
4. Attire. Are they very strict with the attire at the MDR nowadays?
5. Any other recommendations, tips?
Thanks
Check-in was crowded but we were done in a half hour.
I've not used any complimentary reservations on this cruise.
There are multiple shows happening. Finis Henderson was by far the best. We also saw Tap and was told to pass up The Book. For Tap, we were there right when the show started. There was no waiting. We got to the Finis Henderson show early and not only was there no line, the theatre was empty. 15 minutes later the place was close to full. Still never saw a line while the place was filling up. Finis is kid friendly but kids wouldn't likely appreciate such wonderful music, dance and comedy. Tap would be more enjoyed by a younger crowd. Even kids.
The Passing Zone is still playing. I've not seen it. Any other shows, I will only know they are playing when my Wife says we're going.
The MDR did not enforce a dress code in any way. Also never have we seen the MDR even half full.

On Odyssey now... For us it was far easier. Went to the MDR and they asked us if we want our table connected with other guests, or if we wanted to eat alone.

There are multiple food venues on Coco Cay. (Feb 28th) I personally sat within Captain Jack's, watched a couple fantastic performances, sipped my Coco Loco's, and watched folks eat chicken wings. I did not try them but my wife said they were quite good when she experienced them on a cruise a couple months earlier.
We did eat at the buffet on the island. It was terrific. All the standard lunch choices. I ate a burger patty which was excellent, as well as bbq chicken, which was as good as the best I've ever had. There were other choices, but for lunch on one occasion I certainly didn't try everything.
I'm of the 70 year old crowd. I make my own choices, mild to wild. We didn't sign up for the steak and lobster, but that would have also pleased me.

I am on Odyssey right now. I bid for a Jr Suite some time ago. I bid the highest amount on the bid scale.
On day 2 of this voyage I received an email stating we did not win our bid.
On the meantime I will continue to enjoy our most wonderful balcony.

I also prefer the convenience of the DBP. But having to pay for two Dx Packages when my Wife doesn't drink AT ALL... Finally makes me take notice of the Diamond 4-drinks and Prime free drinks in the casino.
What are some things onboard the ship that just make you cringe?

Well then, since you all seem to need such petty things to spoil your vacations, I drink Pop every day.
