I think I read that he has a home in Miami. Wonder how he is holding up, spending so much time on land.
Another observation: With how DANGEROUS ive been reading cruise ships inherently are, its amazing he survived living on a ship for so long. Maybe someone should look into that conspiracy.....

The right state of mind is definitely important these days.
....its not far from how I wouldve spent my Saturday night, anyway. I am a firm believer in making your own fun. Rum sure does help.

Just thought Id share a bit of fun we had, Saturday. Since out sailing was canceled, and social distancing has taken over, we made our own fun this weekend. When we should have been sailing out of Tampa Bay, and under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, we were having our own Sail Away Party on our patio with everyone that should have been on Rhapsody with us......via Zoom chat. Everyone put on their "Cruise wear", we all grilled cheeseburgers, steak, shrimp, and veggies, drank, listened to Jimmy Buffet, Kenny Chesney, and other cruise music, and chatted for 3 hours! It was surprisingly fun. Sure, it wasnt where we should have been, but hey, gotta roll with the punches!!!

Soft drinks on a cruise? I hadn't noticed!
Over priced, big bottle of water....after a night of drinking ....definitely cruise-like.

Not a beverage pic, but here’s how we “got by” this morning, courtesy of our younger daughter. Not only is is she a great artist and photographer, she’s also a mean cook!
Red velvet pancakes on top. Banana cinnamon chip pancakes on bottom. Both from canned mix, not scratch, but...! She added chocolate chips to the red velvet ones, made a brown sugar butter topping for the banana ones, and melted more chocolate in the double boiler for the drizzle. And put out the fruit and other things to have with them.
Good grief. Sign me up. I'm a man of indulgence, when the situation calls for it. THIS calls for it. Bravo!!!

Just now, ellcee said:sitting anywhere but my home would be nice right now. At least we can make the best of it and eventually will all be on those beaches. Cheers.
Currently sitting at my kitchen table "working from home", as my 8 year old paints and my 4 year throws legos across the room. Its 56 and rainy/cloudy outside. My cruise, in 10 days, has been canceled. My Carolina Panthers are releasing the best QB they ever had, today. NONE of this is anything like being sick, or losing a loved one....so I do have some perspective.....but DAMN!
All that said..... this is currently playing on my TV...... after work ill put on some swimming trunks, make myself another Mai Tai, and turn the heat up to 85.

My wife and I are fond of the Corona Refrescas....the Passion Fruit and Lime, and the Coconut and Lime, in particular. Sitting on the beach, in the hot sun, with one of those? MAN thatd be nice right about now.....

Those in the medical field lean toward "worst case scenario" at all times. Its how they are taught, trained, and practice. Partly to rule out the worst, first....and partly to avoid malpractice. THAT being said...youre going to be hard pressed to get a doctor to sign a waiver of ANY sort....ever. Some will...but most wont. This waiver is a HORRIBLE idea, and I dont see it lasting.

Favorite Royal Caribbean cruise? My first. 2001 or so, Sovereign of the Seas, 3 nights out of Canaveral to Nassau and Coco Cay. It was for my Moms 50th birthday, and my entire family was on the ship. Grandma, aunts and uncles, cousins, etc.....it opened my eyes to the world of cruising, and was the first time I had been out of the country!

My Apr. cruise, now canceled, had me looking in July. After talking with my wife, and family, nobody thinks things will be back to normal by then. I dont know what to think about anything, anymore.....this isnt real life.

You know it's getting bad when the homeless folks don't for spare change anymore and ask for spare toilet paper instead.

Yes, your taxes, ports fees and gratuities will be refunded directly to your credit card. Probably within 5-7 biz days. You are correct that the FCC can only be applied to the cruise fare, but between the deposit you must make on the new cruise and the already refunded taxes, etc, you will probably cover most, if not all, of the cost of the cruise. It’s all a wash, really. You get it all back, one way or another. The only bummer is that the cost of the replacement cruise is likely to be higher than the cancelled cruise was.
Yeah....we figured it would be. Especially since I promised the boys we would book one on Harmony. I figured this was the way it worked. Between that, and the other refunds from 3rd part excursions and such coming back to my card, should be fun to keep track of for my accountant...aka wife. Thank you, as always, oh wise and generous @WAAAYTOOO

So, what happens to my port fees, taxes, and prepaid gratuities? Are those refunded? Also, the way I understand it: the FCC can be applied to the fare, only? Meaning I will still have to pay taxes, port fees, and gratuities? Thanks everyone!
