I choose to work several hours per day on trips to save some vacation time. That's not an expectation - it's on me and an expense I'm willing to absorb.
- an hour or so before WJ opens for breakfast and quick check of email while cooling off upon our return on port days
- same hour or so before breakfast plus more of the morning and maybe during lulls in afternoon activities of interest on sea days
I typically use 3 or 3.5 vacation days instead of 5 for a 7 night cruise without feeling like I missed out on anything. Do that three times and you get an extra week off. Plus there is the benefit of not coming back to a ridiculous workload.
If my employer "asked" me to be available, it would be a hard "no" unless they agreed to pay the entire cost of my internet package.

We booked a GTY for our upcoming "hey Mimi has offered to watch the kids" cruise, but we booked a suite guarantee. At a minimum, and most likely, we'll be in a Jr suite. With the double points, we'll reach diamond plus on this one.
The only time we ever booked GTY was also a suite guarantee. We got a JS almost exactly where we would have selected (same area, different deck) at a savings of $240 pp.

And.
Done.
Drive-by.
Okay, maybe not. Couldn't even bother to correct the ChatGPT error from "inferior" to "interior."

My wife has an envelope for EVERYTHING - drink tips for each day, gambling money per person per day, excursion tips per excursion, expected additional gratuity for each role that we give extra during the cruise or at the end, spending money for each port, and on and on. Some envelopes are in her little backpack (not all together), some are in my computer bag (not all together), some are in the carry on bag with day one essentials and medicines.
The envelope with a tip for the porters has already been discarded after handing off that tip while dropping our bags. Boarding day drink tip $1s are already neatly folded and stashed in the appropriate pocket of my shorts and in the little pouch she carries with her phone and SeaPass (need to have the first ones handy as soon as we board for drinks on the way to the muster drill check in).
The first step of unpacking for us is to retrieve all those envelopes from their respective locations and put them in the safe.

I can’t quite figure out whether this cocktail was based on a “Dirty Monkey” or a “Dirty Banana.”
As I read through the ingredients, my mind definitely went to "an upgraded Dirty Monkey."
-
It was definitely worth purchasing the upgrade from classic (included with the "Have it All" package) to premium for me. If you like beer and basic cocktails, classic is okay. If you like real cocktails, go for the upgrade.

Wife continued to plead with him to stop, don't do that, we'll lose our money, etc.
She's not wrong - clearly posted that "malfunctions void all pays."

one guy a few machines down hit is so hard an alarm went off.
I hope they didn't pay him whatever amount had accumulated on that machine.

I mean, you aren't really dancing if you aren't shaking your buttocks!
Except Irish dancing. Not much shaking there.

Dying laughing at the dancers shaking their buttocks part.
Isn't that the part of the dancing that makes it interesting?

Meeting times for excursions are usually 15 minutes prior to the listed start time. And if there are stragglers, you won't always depart at the listed start time. As @SpeedNoodlessaid, there is too much risk of missing the second one. In any case, they may not allow you to schedule both without a gap between the stated end of one and start of the other.

Since that’s a fairly standard drink, almost every bar will be able to make one quite easily.
But don't bother at the pool bar. Wouldn't be the same in a plastic glass.

Just make sure the reservations are linked so you can make Cruise Planner purchases together.

Yep. Another one post hit and run. This is getting to be old now.
I'm a moderator on another board (unrelated to cruising). We have the ability to block/ban IP addresses from creating accounts. If multiple one and done accounts are from the same IP, just block the IP.

Why can’t you do anything thru the app anymore? I’m not a seasoned cruiser by any means, actually we are sailing on our second cruise in October. On our last cruise (our first) we did everything thu the app, now we can’t, I mean we changed excursions, change dining times, etc, etc. specifically changing main dining room to My Time Dining, now we can’t do that. So frustrating. Just venting but any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Log out and log back in. If that doesn't work, check if there is an update (sometimes the app will prompt you to update, other times it won't).

Even if you have a great TA, this is still happening. It is a problem with their system. It messes with the cruise planner and reservation. It cannot seem to separate the two.
Even when you use a different card for cruise and cruise planner purchases.

Might be a "gift" from your TA. Those usually show up close to sail date or even after boarding.

"Apply for" = request. Guess they hope that by having a number we'll be more likely to book a cruise.
