SweetPea Posted January 14 Author Report Posted January 14 Good morning. I'm actually awake (not up) and feeling a lot better. I'm probably at risk for zinc poisoning at this point, but i feel like i can function today. I also had the foresight to bring foot detox pads and I put a pair on last night after giving up on my $×@%^! neighbors. I'm convinced sucking some of those toxins out through the bottom of my feet helped. Batman, on the other hand, has warned me that he feels like Punta Cana today. Long story. Let's just say he's miserable. I asked if he wanted me to ask Rafa to hook him up at medical and maybe get some better drugs than that random Advil allergy stuff i had to settle for. Quote here "No. That would mean I'd have to go down there. I'll take just take a shower." I offered to put some detox foot pads on for him too, but i have visions of him kicking my head like a horse. I'm bummed that our cruise is appearing to end with a whimper. Tonight is formal. I have my last blowout scheduled and dinner is supposed to be at Chops. I'll still get my hair done at least (the last one includes some kind of extra treatment or something and doing my hair here in this stupid cabin has been a PITA). I did bring some of this stuff. I took a pic of the box and dumped the contents in my carry on before we left. I think it helped me. Batman whined it's not working two minutes after taking his first dose. SweetPea Posted January 14 Author Report Posted January 14 Tell me you're sailing back into NJ without telling me you're sailing back into NJ 20250114_122455.mp4 Next year we have a 19-night cruise booked. If we forget the medicine bag again, i think we're toast. I mean i get that home schooling is still trending, but not enough to trend that cruise down age-wise. We were fine on our 10 night in August (WELL ... except for that one night we kept the Haven open till 4:30a, but we won't talk about that). I think this is just a combo of January + NJ. Would we do this cruise again? Sure. I'd just pack a med bag and make sure that what i do have maybe, IDK, didn't expire in 2018. Batman is starting to perk up, and just announced what he is having for dinner in Chops, so that sounds promising. He also mentioned that he's open to seeing Mosaic tonight, unless i want to go to The Book again ... Then he said that maybe we could return the favor tonight and pay back the kindness our neighbors showed us last night. Things could get spicy. They could sizzle. We'll have to wait and see. Stay tuned. WAAAYTOOO, OCSC Mike, Ampurp85 and 9 others 4 7 1 Quote
SweetPea Posted January 14 Author Report Posted January 14 But now that we are simply chilling on our balcony at the moment, I'll regale you with the last and only funny story i have about Neil Diamond. And you kinda had to be there so maybe I'll regret this and delete it later. He sang the National Anthem at my graduate school graduation. When our chancellor was introducing him, I'm pretty sure his assistant wrote Neil's introduction, and he didn't bother to read it first. It went something like this. "Neil Diamond with such hits as Love on the Rocks, They're Coming to America, Sweet Caroline [long confused pause] ... Touching Me, Touching You?" At which point, Neil and half the graduates went "ba ba ba" as Neil did a fist pump. Who knows. Maybe Neil wrote his own intro. Oh, and if you made it through that. OCSC Mike Posted January 14 Report Posted January 14 1 minute ago, SweetPea said: Oh funny you say that. He subbed bourbon for vodka. Does that make sense? No, there's no bourbon (or vodka) in my drink. It really is just blackberry flavored alcohol (not real moonshine of course) mixed into lemonade with fresh blackberries. SweetPea Posted January 15 Author Report Posted January 15 Chops was so good tonight. Pics later. Came back to cake with apologies that they couldn't fit the full word "retirement" . Apparently poor Rafa has been trying to help us celebrate for the past 2 days, but we weren't exactly being cooperative with being under the weather and trying to sweat out whatever we had going on by sitting on our balcony. Doesn't matter when it is your late night feeding and you definitely don't cut yourself a piece with a knife like proper adults, and you may or may not use a fork at the end of the night ... I'm told it's vanilla and caramel. Sounds good to me. Next up, Mosaic, whatever that is. Stay tuned. I feel bad because I'm operating at 93.5% and Batman is running at about 65%, but he's being a champ for me. It's SO WEIRD not to have to worry about being sick after a cruise and not being able to take the day off because you have no shift coverage. I've made myself so busy after the cruise in prep for getting back to normal hours, among normal people with normal hours. I just hope i didn't take on too much too soon. SweetPea Posted January 15 Author Report Posted January 15 IDK if this has ever happened to anyone else, but I've just had the greatest missed opportunity. You go to post on your blog, and a previous post is stuck in what you want as a fresh response, but it's with a quote your can't delete, but the 'clear previous editor' line doesn't appear, even though you posted that post hours ago and now you can't get rid of it. You're trying to post something new but that won't clear. You try to close your browser and attempt to clear your cache, when that doesn't work, you try to restart your phone but that $5%#!$&&/ previous post is still there when you try to respond to your own blog. You finally get a blank post and you're free to post something brand new without a previous post in the way and you try to add files of live video but then the moment is over ... SweetPea Posted January 15 Author Report Posted January 15 Batman and i agreed. Mo5aic (yes, replace the S with a 5) was talented, but their song choices were for crud. We prefer Lenny Kravitz to Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder. But that's just us. The 70 (80?) and older crowd loved them. Standing ovation territory. But Mosaic was younger than us.
