Va4fam
We have a usb/outlet extension strip with no surge protection. Will this be allowed on the ship or sent to the naughty room? Has anyone had to retrieve an item at the end of the cruise because it wasn't allowed?
hoagie
Won't be allowed Va4fam
Matt
Nope. Bottom line, security cant verify every power strip is or isn't safe. So they confiscate them all. Va4fam, Linda R and DonR
Atlantix2000
If it looks like a surge protector, it's best to assume it won't be allowed even if it technically meets the requirements. Multi-port USB chargers are the best option to bring. Anything that gives you more outlets could be rejected.

One time I packed scissors (it was a Disney cruise, working on a Halloween costume) and they confiscated them. I decided a $2 pair of scissors was not worth me trying to pick up, so I just abandoned them. Va4fam
Va4fam
Thanks everyone.....now I have to break the news to the power strip that it won't get to come on the cruise. Okgladgal, fireclan, DDaley and 4 others 1 5

Mr. Green
The best thing to do is look at some of the Cruise Bloggers on YouTube and other sites. Some of an Amazon Store of favorite things and usually have a cruise approved plug or extension port. You can try searching Amazon also. Jill
This apparently is allowed. Our friends brought one just like this on Wonder back in March Limited-time deal: Power Strip with USB, Addtam ETL Certificate Flat Plug Extension Cord with 3 USB Ports, 3 Widely Spaced Outlets, 5 Feet Braided Cord, Desktop Small Travel Power Strip for Cruise Ship, Home, Office https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08F59SD3D/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_dl_61DY0P3636EE44MR8M0E?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Va4fam

If there is a cord and/or surge suppresser, it won't be allowed. YOLO

Va4fam
Probably for the best if I leave it at home before I have to retrieve it from the naughty table at end of cruise. May look into one of the usb only hubs for a future cruise. YOLO

Ampurp85
I have an international USB hub that has 3 outlets with it. Have had it for about 6 years and been on countless cruises and vacations. Takes up almost no space and never had an issue, unfortunately Amazon no longer makes it. Va4fam and YOLO
