Al Horner
With the upgraded air filters the ships are supposed to have received, are the casinos still as smoky as they used to be?
Linda R
I would go to the casino more often if it wasn't for the smoke. You can still smell it very much on the non-smoking side. It often prevents me from gambling at all. Wanderer, Scooter6251, Srp431 and 1 other
twangster
Initially when ships first restart it stands to reason there will be fewer gamblers simply because there are fewer guests. If ships are at 50% capacity the numbers of smokers is likely cut in half too. So I'm thinking it will be better. I'll be eager to see on my first cruise since it's usually an area I avoid due to the smoke. Scooter6251 and FManke
GaryAA
I also avoid the casino due to the smoke. I wish Royal Caribbean would follow Celebrity’s lead and ban smoking in the casino. Wanderer, Scooter6251, Sharla and 2 others
smokeybandit
As someone who's very sensitive to cigarette smoke, smell, I've never found the casinos all that bad. Though I usually spend a grand total of 30 minutes per cruise actually gambling though
Andrew72681
On adventure 6/26 it was still annoyingly smoky. Part of that seemed to be the same guy in there smoking all the time, and he always seemed to be at the same blackjack table I was heading too. Sharla
I also avoid the casino due to smoke, and it's really awful when that smoke wafts up into the promenade. I wish they'd ban smoking in the casino! Neesa, teddy, Wanderer and 3 others

But smoke bothers my eyes and my throat. Time will tell. If I don't gamble I will probably save money! haha
Royal Blue
this one tiny sliver of space gets an exemption from the normally strict smoking rules. RC must think the smokers will donate more money than the non I guess. You'd think it would be near the tipping point where the non's will out spend them if given clean air. RC doesn't have a ship on pilot project with a no smoke casino?

Have never smoked even though both of my parents did when I was growing up.
AlmondFarmer
Smoking/lung disease is a pre-existing condition. The percentage of cruisers who smoke may be lower on future sailings.
Scooter6251
According to the CDC, as of 2019, only 13.7% of all Americans smoke. And since it has declined every year since 2005, I assume less may smoke today. That seems a small percentage for Royal to cater to. Over 86% of us would prefer 'no smoking'. https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/fact_sheets/adult_data/cig_smoking/index.htm
