Now all we need is for RCL to drop those tests all together. The place I booked to test at just closed up shop and vanished. Local CVS and Walgreen's cancelling left and right and even closing stores for hours and some days cause they can't get hired help.

Just for kicks, I just checked the one we've always used (about a 90 minute drive from the house) --- Nope, not available now.  The closest one is in Winchester, VA (about 2 hours from us) ---- ugh, this has GOT to end.

  2. Since Carnival announced on Friday that the Pre-Test for fully vaccinated folks on sailings under 16 days takes affect on 9/6 --- My guess, for the fun of the post is, they'll make the announcement today or tomorrow, taking affect on Thursday, 9/8.  Pure speculation, but since Carnival's announcement, I agree with you that, like Thanos said, it's inevitable.  In fact, to my knowledge, RC is one of the last ones to drop it.

    Check in is now open.

I checked in last night at midnight…got a 10am arrival time.

I just checked now…and there are 10:30 slots available.

I think a lot of us waited up till midnight.  A person in the Facebook Group said he tried to check in at 1:00 and all the 10:00 slots were filled.

Brian, are you in the Facebook Group?   Here's a link   https://www.facebook.com/groups/280144957080785

Hey everyone,we are getting so incredibly close. The excitment is building for my first cruise. All my excursions are booked, got my drink package but i feel like im still missing something to finish off my cruise expierence. I was thinking about adding chops, or izumi habachi any feeding back or should i just book both? 😆

Are you in the Facebook Group yet..... scroll up to almost the top of this thread for a link.  See you on board.  Mark

Stupid - makes no real logical sense.

Guess assumption is that they try this and see what happens then move it to 7 day etc... Hoping this is the case by September as this is causing a major headache for testing having to fly to New York from the UK.  Need to sort out testing when we are there to potentially risk not being able to go on the cruise.

I totally agree, we're on Oasis on 9/18...... the stress release that would occur would be tremendous if we didn't have to do the pre-test.

Just looking forward to this run. If that loyalty ambassador does the right thing for me I'll likely book a few before I get off. Trans Atlantic, Alaska, Western with Roatan in the cards then an ABC with a possible Trans Pacific if I can figure  how to touch Bora Bora (bucket list thing). I'll turn up the heat as I'm semi retiring after this Jersey season. When  a couple more things fall in place I'll get really busy cruising ,like a week a month...

One of the things I DO know we'll be booking while we're on board..... Jewel out of SJ on 2/17/24 .... St. Maarten, Dominica, Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago --- We have several friends going, so, this one is a done deal.  I think what I'm most looking forward to is Trinidad & Tobago.

I'd love to visit there, but, does RC have a ship that can even dock there now?

Empress and Majesty are no longer in the fleet and, to my knowledge, they were the only ships able to port there before travel restrictions to Cuba were reinstated.

I'm 90% sure Vision Class ships can fit ....

Actually, neither the Majesty or the Empress were Vision class ships. They were smaller.

Exactly my point ... I know that ..... It seems that since those two were the ones going, it was natural to assume that Vision Class ships were too big.  Now we know better.

  10. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, .....

I'm taking a bow with such accolades.  There's no doubt, I love Lady G.

You don't realize how many windows there are with views out into the ocean until you go on the larger ships.  For example, the Schooner Bar.  It's all windows on the one side.  When you look up through the Centrum .... it's a giant skylight at the top.  Unlike the larger ships that are very horizontal in the venues ... smaller ships with the Centrum are designed to think vertically ... many items surrounding a central core as opposed to a promenade.

As for questions, ask away @Revo1776 , I'll do my best to help.

  11. Back in 2017, we were on Grandeur (Vision Class) ..... Baltimore to Bermuda ..... The only issue was that Hurricane Jose was in the way.  So, we went over Jose on the way out, then under Jose on the way back.  Was the ship rocking?  Yes.  But it wasn't side to side, it was up and down, front to back as we were going through the waves.  The barf bags were out, but in all honesty, we were fine.  I think the real key here is, BE PREPARED - Watch the Weather Channel and if it looks like the weather may be an issue, get the meds that you MAY need.  My wife would wear one of those patches that go behind her ear, and, she was a rockstar.  Would we go through it all over again?  You betcha.
