I don’t think chops is open for breakfast on oasis class ships at all. My understanding is it’s open to suite guests on ships that don’t have a coastal kitchen

27th Lady reacted to WAAAYTOOO in Aqua Theater Suite or Owners Suite on Harmony?
Are you talking about a 1BR ATS or a 2 BR ATS ?
If it’s a 1 BR ATS then I definitely recommend the Owners Suite. The only redeeming quality of the 1 BR ATS is the aft view. Otherwise, the OS is superior in every way.
If you’re talking about a 2 BR ATS then you’re talking Star Class and that’s a whole ‘nuther thing. If that’s the case, I would recommend the ATS. The only real negative of 2BR ATS is the long walk but it’s worth it - at least once. The second BR of the ATS is really no more than an interior room so just be aware of that. For kids it’s fine but for a second adult couple it’s really deficient compared to the master BR.

I'd like to see them upgrade the Watchlist feature by adding my original room price on the screen as well as what my specific room costs now, not just what the cheapest room in that cabin type is.

27th Lady got a reaction from CanHardlyWait in Safety hazard and how to escalate further up
So essentially you booked a specific room that you later discovered does not meet your expectations. There is no way for the RC system to know you are not comfortable with or cannot use Pullman beds. As many others have stated they will not assume that the pullmans are for children. They would assume two of your party are willing to sleep in them given that you are booking a room with them specifically. I think it’s unlikely they will compensate you for this. In my opinion your best option is the ocean view for $500 more. Sorry if you don’t feel this advice is helpful. I don’t want to mislead you into waiting for a better option and then risking the suitable room being booked by someone else.

27th Lady reacted to Doug_Texas in Crack Down on Chair Hogs on Odyssey
We spend the day at the pool but quit using pool chairs/loungers because of the 30 minute vacancy limit. We found ourselves in the pool making conversation and often ended up staying in the water well beyond the 30 minutes. It took a while to get used to not using a chair at all and sometimes it is a challenge where to put towels, sandals, phones, suntan lotion, etc. but it’s the right thing to do as a lot of people want to lay and read or visit in the chair. They should have access to the chairs and loungers. If you are not in it, release it.
(RCL, a wall of cubbie holes to put things where they would stay dry wound be nice. I saw something like that on Icon but the location could be improved.)

How in the heck did you clear customs without your passports after you got off the ship?

Just one less thing to take care of once you arrive. If it works for you your way, go for it.

It's actually a courtesy to yourself as it helps the crew sort faster and get you your bags faster.

27th Lady reacted to Scott Wooten in Birthday celebration for my wife
Just got off the Adventure yesterday and I did the birthday package for my wife. One thing I have to brag on RCCL about is the fact that when we got to our room, the cake and strawberries were there, but no decorations. I went to Customer Service to inquire and explain that the surprise had already been a wash, so they kindly refunded the entire cost of the package. Lo and behold, when we returned to our room, the decorations had been hung. I called to cancel the refund, feeling like I was taking advantage of their kindness......but they refused my request and told me that they would refund with no questions asked. Kudos to RCCL for great customer service!!!

27th Lady got a reaction from RCIfan1912 in All aboard time is quite important don't ya think!
I agree that the responsibility for this is with the passengers and tour operator. I can’t imagine how stressful this would be for the passengers to be essentially stranded unexpectedly in this part of the world. Many of them don’t have their medications, access to money, etc.

27th Lady got a reaction from CruiseGus in Grand Suite Bunk Beds
What ship is this on? Many of the “bunk beds”in the second bedroom of 2br grand suites are just overhead pullman beds that can absolutely be tucked away.

Put your aunt and your kid in the real bed (split into 2 singles) and you and your wife could take the couch.

27th Lady reacted to AshleyDillo in Customer Service - A bit of a dilemma - RCB to the rescue?
Sorry to hear this happened to you and I hope someone on the blogs can give you some ideas of who to connect with to try and get this some traction.
The biggest takeaway from this is whenever there is a problem on the sailing you need to make sure you resolve it prior to leaving the ship. Once you leave the ship, there's less urgency for someone to assist you. Onboard you need to leverage every resource you have (Guest Services, Concierge) and escalate until you talk to someone who will do something. If you ever have an issue with a Shore Excursion and make a complaint onboard they often will give a refund, but you do need to be persistent, polite, and do not let them just put you aside and firmly stand your ground and talk to someone higher up.
How much you spent and your loyalty is irrelevant. They should have listened to your complaints onboard and tried to offer a solution while onboard.

27th Lady reacted to JLMoran in Hey everybody. It's been a while!
Just saying a quick hello here, first time in about four years. I just booked the 12-night Odyssey sailing in Jan 2025, which is an itinerary I've been wanting to do kind of since I first started sailing with Royal in 2018 and learned about it. Seemed like a nice way to celebrate turning 55. 🙂
To everyone I haven't spoken with in all these years, hope you've been well!

27th Lady got a reaction from WAAAYTOOO in Family Star Star Class on Symphony
I have heard it is common for the genies on oasis class ships to have all of the suites in the same proximity (ie all the port aqua suites or all the starboard aqua suites) so I think it’s not likely you would be automatically with the same genie. I would agree that you should make sure they know as soon you have any contact from them that you are a group so that you have the same genie.

Just wanted to resurrect this thread to give a heartfelt thanks to all of you for your advice. Nityam was simply amazing and set the standard for which our future genies will be judged. I want to hope he enjoyed us as well. Considering he wasn’t calling security on us, we were an improvement over the previous passengers at a minimum. lol

27th Lady got a reaction from jbrinkm in Parent Consent
I was in your scenario a couple of weeks ago - traveling with my husband and our daughter. They have the same last name, I still use my maiden name. At check in they asked my daughter aged 7 who I was. We were able to tell them that we are her parents without needing documentation. Reading this, I’ll bring her birth certificate in the future.
