The problem isn't your app, Royal has not made that content available yet for a particular sailing.
The app is essentially a browser to content stored on Royal servers somewhere.
Simply stated they haven't finished making plans for that cruise.
I'm under 40 days on some and they are still working on the fun.  It's not your app, it's Royal Caribbean.

Yeah 2.6k is quite a lot. For the most part, other than a few things and the genie itself, most of the Star class perks can be technically purchased.

Hahaha, @LogicallyLazy thanks for replying to me on this post as well.

Based on current prices, the upgrade would cost an additional SGD 2.6K. Pretty hefty (as least for me) for something that is entirely a want and not a need. But to be honest, prices for this sailing are pretty low compared to the rest, hence the temptation.

Actually, I'm not sure how the price differs from pre-covid times. That is, if the current prices are a steal. Does anyone know how much a GLS cost pre-covid?

Even if all SC cabins are sold out, you will still get the option to bid for an upgrade, in case anyone canceled at the last minute, or unfortunately got a positive covid result.

Of course, the chances of it is quite slim. I would suggest looking how much a straight upgrade would be and decide from there is you’re really keen on star class.

Sometimes, it’s only a few hundred more than what you would have bid, especially since it’s still some time to your sailing

Our first RCCL cruise was supposed to be on Oasis on Christmas Eve 2017 to celebrate my grandfather’s 99th birthday. However, I tested positive for the flu 3 days before the cruise. Thank goodness for travel insurance!!! The rest of the extended family sailed and had a great cruise. My family rescheduled for the following June on Allure and were joined by my sister and her family. We had a blast. We have been cruising and planning cruises ever since. Love RCCL.

@steverk I have a booking out of Barbados, so was interested in your question. I thought I’d check  entry requirements listed by other cruise lines.
I see that Seaborn is cruising from Barbados.   Here’s what Seaborn’s website says about Barbados entry requirements for cruisers - there is an option to fly in and go to pier without quarantine:  I have to believe when time gets closer to Grandeur sailings, this will also be an option    I’m really looking forward to my Barbados Grandeur cruise next spring.
         https://www.seabourn.com/en_US/health-safety/barbados-travel-requirements.html
What requirements must be completed prior to boarding?
    Negative COVID-19 Test:
If guests are going directly to the pier from the airport no additional testing will be required for check-in and embarkation. If guests are staying at a hotel before embarkation they are required to complete a PCR test upon arrival. Guests should take their PCR test at the airport as it will be complimentary. Guests will then be transferred to their hotel to quarantine until results come back. Test results can take up to 24 hours.
p.s. I was surprised to read in the protocols Seaborn was denying cruisers requiring oxygen or dialysis.

It's awesome to see that check-in is back to 90 days out. I was getting concerned that this 30-day check-in was going to be the new normal.

Our first cruise (and first RC cruise) was on Oasis. We kind of got spoiled a bit with that I think. We took another cruise the next year on the Independence and it was a fine trip, but at this point, I don't think I would sail anything other than Oasis class or Quantum class unless I had to for the itinerary.

Had some time to reflect on the cruise on a 16 hour travel day yesterday and wanted to put together a quick good / bad list.
    On the good side:
Service was incredible across the board.  I don't think I met anyone that was just "nice".  No waits for anything, everyone remembered your name and often had your drink ready before you got there. Food was great, friend of mine ended booking too, so out of respect for her tastes did mostly Chops and Giovanni's for dinner but both places were better than I remembered. Ice show was amazing Lack of crowds was a unique experience.  Not sure I'll ever have a chance to be on a ship that empty again.  I was a little worried that being so empty it wouldn't really feel like a cruise, but most of the experience was still there...and in a lot of ways better. DBP was the right choice.  By a good margin.  My new loves are espresso martini's and "She's a Geisha". Sushi and Sake lunch.  I'd seen this as an option sometime last year and have been wanting to try it since then.  So worth it.  I was stuffed when I left but the food and the pairings were fantastic.  Well worth it if you like either. Coco Beach Club - Love it there, beautiful area, great food, fantastic staff.  Wouldn't mind trying a cabana at some point either, those looked fun. No chair hogs! Didn't matter when you went, you could get a seat pretty much anywhere anytime and enjoy. Not as good
UDP - So. Much. Food.  I prefer to eat smaller meals through the day when I'm actively doing anything.  Here they just insisted on bringing so much, even sending back plates half eaten it was a struggle.  Not to mention with only a few restaurants on board I was struggling to find anything that sounded good by the end of the week.  First world problems.  I don't think I'll do the UDP again unless it's on a ship with more choices or if I'm going to be dining by myself so I can just grab a roll or two at Izumi when I want. Not much in the way of activities.  Not really an issue since they're not a main focus for me, but it's nice to have the option. Not being able to sit at the bar in most bars was strange, while I'm glad they allowed it at the blue moon, I'm hopeful it'll come back to the others as well. Internet was a little iffy, I hope they upgrade it on the rest of the ships at some point too. Overall, I wish I'd gone in June so I could have justified a back to back, it was just a great time and an incredible/unique experience that I'd glad I got to do.  It was the perfect first cruise back for me, now I'll just be looking forward to the Grandeur in December.

I watched Matt's "8 Not Stupidest purchases I made to bring on a cruise" and it got me thinking about what to buy at the dollar store for a cruise.
For those of you that aren't familiar, there are several chain stores in the USA where everything in the store is $1.  Most of these stores carry a lot of junk and a few worthwhile items.
So, without further ado, what things have you purchased at a dollar store that you won't cruise without?
Here are a few of mine from Dollar Tree:

You should edit your cart. The cruise planner is confusing with their language. For the day bed as well, its per daybed, so you would book under 1 person, and then have access to the up to 4. Technically, the way you did it, you just purchased two day beds.
For the second part of your post, yes, you can invite others to join you in your cabana. In the cruise planner, you purchase it under 1 guest name. When you get to Coco Cay, you will be assigned a cabana number, and you will check in at the entrance to the cabana area. Once there, the attendant will give you wristbands, and ask you how many people will be joining you. I believe I have also been asked names of those people as well.

We're sailing Star Class on our upcoming Allure sailing next month with our girls (7 and 9). I'll be happy to report on the experience.

However, we have flown recently, and both girls did their first plane flights pretty young. A lot depends on the length of the flight. If you're only on the plane for a couple of hours, it's not so bad, and there will be enough happening that they won't get bored. Longer flights are harder, and I highly recommend picking up some snacks at the airport gift shop and to be prepared with coloring books.

They may experience some preflight and takeoff anxiety (our kids were split there - our oldest has no problem with flying), so this will probably be the most challenging part.

A great blog!  How hard was it for the kids to walk to different areas of the ship from the aft of the ship?  @WAAAYTOOO mentioned it’s a lot of walking from the ATS.
I was looking at the OTS 2 bedroom ATS in March, 23. We have 3 kids who will be 10,8, and 5.  I like the fact that there’s a separate room for the kids.  Thanks!

I wish this saga would just end, I don't understand why the CDC continues to fight this, when it is obvious cruise lines in this country know what to do to keep passengers safe while onboard.

Once again I would say wait till the last possible moment to make a decision.  Although the entry requirement for Barbados appear to be a bit harsh believe it or not it is actually an improvement even for unvaccinated  individuals.  Every week more and more vaccine makes it way to nations throughout the Caribbean I reckon within 6 weeks if not sooner there may be another entry requirement update for Barbados making it even easier for people (vaccinated) to enter the country.  I think with the next update fully vaccinated individuals will only need to show a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before entry and that will be enough to avoid quarantine all together.  For those who are unvaccinated it will take a more time but I think by the end of the year if not before Barbados and (depending on vaccine distribution in the Caribbean) most Caribbean nations will allow unvaccinated travelers to enter their respective countries without the need to quarantine as long as they present a negative PCR test.

I’m willing to bet out of the 3 Eleventh Circuit Court judges randomly chosen to be on the panel who made this decision ….. that the 2 who voted in favor of allowing the CDC to continue screwing with the cruise lines were originally appointed to the court by either Obama, Clinton, or Bush and the 1 who voted against the CDC was a Trump court appointee.
