OH, OH, I WANNA PLAY!!!! I like silver linings. I had a sailing booked on Rhapsody, because it was the only ship going to Roatan (the only request my Honduran wife made for the cruise) the week we could go. THE WHOLE WEEK. Crazy. But, thanks to our dear friend Covid-19, we were cancelled, and rebooked for a sailing in 2021 that goes to Roatan, AND Coco Cay, on HARMONY. This will be my 1st Oasis class! AAAAAND were going from an ocean view to an ocean balcony!!!!

Oh I think they have someone from Corporate watching all sites related to "Royal". 1984 Baby! Remember the show"THE MOLE" Ha Ha
I have no doubt they observe. That is just smart business to gauge the pulse of your customer....but participate? Nah.....they dont want to risk blurring those lines. If they do have a mole....I hope theyre smart enough to not be outed!

Royal knows. No one here knows. No one from Royal participates on this forum.
What I said is "I dont see how they KNOW that" and it was in regards to RC saying "FCC bookings werent that substantial." Maybe I need to expand on that. Before they were allowing you to use FCC to make a deposit, you had to make a reservation and pay a deposit. So, wouldnt they ALL look like new bookings since that is the normal? As of now, I just have a balance that I can pay any way I want. FCC, Credit or Debit card....they dont know how I will take care of that balance.
And I know they dont participate here.....I guess my wording was confusing? I dunno.....

SC is one of the states that is seeing numbers skyrocket. I go two hours west, and im fly fishing and backpacking in the mountains. I go three hours east, and im in Charleston, eating Shrimp n Grits, and relaxing on the beach. Does it get any better? Restrict me to my own state all you want.
Wait.....nevermind.....its HORRIBLE here. You shouldnt move here. We have all kinds of poisonous snakes and spiders....STAY AWAY!

When asked during the investor call Royal suggested FCC bookings weren't that substantial. They claimed most new bookings were just that. Beyond that vague answer no one here knows.
I dont see how they KNOW that? I have FCC, but when I rebooked it was a new reservation and I paid a deposit. Who is to say I am, or am not using my FCC on THIS cruise? I am....but they dont know......

I honestly think they will start in Sept...with or without a vaccine. However we all need to prepare for period of "new normal." Even if RCCI decides to run all ships at 50% or more capacity, it will still be changes.
I also asked how many people would get the vaccine because there are a lot of anti-vaxxers. Add those into the fold of people who "don't believe in" COVID and a good chunk of the population won't get the shot. Would the cruise industry force people to have the vaccinations? I am very much sure the Chad's and Karen's are not here for that.
THE only "Karen" I wanna party with.....no offense if anyones name is actually Karen, im sure youre super cool.

Just another event in the ongoing cold war between NY and Florida. People have been fleeing NY in droves to escape oppressive taxes. Many go to Florida yet maintain property in NY for the summer months. Seems like retaliation to me.
....and I was all set to come crash on @Ogilthorpe 's couch......

The biggest difference I can see is that there does not appear to be a price protection for the original cruise fare (unless I am misreading it). That would make it all very unappealing, to me.
Good point!! I imagine theyre happy to switch you to another cruise.........which could be, likely will be, more money

This seems like a good idea. How does it compare to RCs Lift and Shift? Im not sure of the details.....

Also how many people would actually get the vaccine?
Im not a conspiracy theorist.....at all. Im aware the newest vaccine may not be the one we end up with as the best vaccine....but ill get whatever comes out. Like I said, my wife is an RN, and will have to get it, so by default....i will too.....because i do what she says. Look....if something comes out that lets everything get back to normal, sign me up. I havent seen my dad since January, am tired of working from home, I love my kids but I am a better father to them sane, and would love for them to be at summer day camp and daycare while I work.....AND I WANT TO GO ON MY CRUISE. I dont give two rats tails about politics and all that....im neither rich enough, or poor enough to ever feel the effects of that hot garbage. LETS F-ING GO!

That doesn't make sense at all...its all fluff and BS......from him?...It's got to be an intern punching out the responses. If not, it shows a total lack of care and empathy for Royal customers......terrible service.
Would have been better to NOT send a response then to send something that is so blatantly cavalier.
I give it a fraction of a percent chance that he A: reads his emails, or B: is the one answering them....people with money pay people to do these things.

Fauci (aware some of you dont like him....) seems to think its when, not if, and it may be here by end of year or early in 21......I sail in March, and since my wife is an RN and will HAVE to get it, I will get it too (if she turns into a zombie, I need to be a zombie too)....so Im hopeful its ready EARLY '21.
LETS SAIL!

A couple of days ago I booked a shorty (5 night) Grandeur to Bermuda for 10 Oct. This morning when I went to check the Cruise Planner prices, it is showing cancelled.
I think this is a glitch. To my knowledge, nothing in October has been cancelled....yet. Anyone else seeing October cruises cancelled ?
For your sake, I hope it IS a glitch, and not an indication of an announcement to come.....more canceled sailings, or canceled ships altogether....
I keep waiting for RCCL to announce theyre selling the older ships, like Grandeur. I cant imagine who would be in the market to BUY cruise ships, right now.....but there is always someone out there with more money than my little brain can comprehend.

Prices Going Up on Cruises

Heck man, I dunno. Maybe you have multiple cruises? I know I havent applied my FCC yet (TA said we would wait till closer to final payment date to make sure repricing and using FCC is a cleaner process). My only thought was that at first, they were making you pay a deposit and FCC wasnt used. So Im sure at that time, ALL bookings could have looked "new" even though they were people with FCC.
