I would love to be able to take advantage of the Royal Caribbean CC but as a Canadian I am not able to get one. We have many US currency CC available in Canada just not the RC one.....

That sounds early, normally they close at 9 or 9:30 depending when the dining times are but you are still able to get food for 30 min after. I think it just the time you must be inside the Windjammer. Normally the officers eat late so they have the food out for a while after they close.

The change rooms and showers are separate for each gender. The shower stalls have shampoo dispensers like in your room and towels are provided.

I would say Royal is slightly less fancy and a little more fun. I just find Royal attracts a more active crowed and as a new Diamond Member you will have the Diamond Lounge that in itself is a very nice perk.

I guess a month would allow for more than just a basic drydock....it's interesting that no news has been released about the drydock yet....
We will be on the last 2 cruises before the drydock so I am hoping to have more info before our sailing Sept 4th 2020.

The dogs are looking for fruit. It really is such a shame that they have to throw out big garbage bags of fresh fruit that people take form the ship....we see this every time we visit Cozumel.

On all my Royal flights it shows 2 booking/confirmation numbers but I have never booked an Easy Jet flight thru Royal.
I always get these the day I book and with the carrier code can log into the airline site to book my seats.

It looks like the 5 day Bermuda cruise leaving this morning was canceled because of propulsion problems. It seems the ship left the port on time but shortly after had to return to port with this issue. It seems they will give everyone a full refund and 100% FCC plus the normal flight change fees.

Not sure if anyone can give more details....

I guess the main thing is are you happy with the extra perks each category offers....I know many people that just can't sail in anything less than JS...they need the walk-in closet and bathtub....others say it's because of the double points....
Lucky we have lots of different categories on ships so everyone can buy what suits them best. It's great to have a choice.

I would not risk it. We were on a cruise a while back the some guys all got arrested when they got caught during a routine inspection by US Border guys, not sure if they had info on them or just random....but they got arrested for pot and the room attendant told us it was just a small baggy....

^^^100% agree.  This is great advice!
We always save it for final payment as we have encountered what you mentioned above and it is a pain.

Just a bit of advice on FCC. Don't have it applied when booking a new cruise. It becomes a PIA.  Instead of your invoice showing the original price and then the FCC remove, they apply the FCC at the beginning. It makes comparing prices later looking for a price drop a pain.. and if you do rebook due to a price drop, you have to remove the FCC, rebook and then re-apply the FCC..
My advice..  book normally and then apply the FCC as part of final payment.

Concur that the Centrum and Deck 5 are great spots.  What is nice about the Centrum is that the music carries all the way up to higher decks.  So to just listen to Centrum music, you can sit almost anywhere amidships.@Curt From Canada  captured everything very nicely, and I actually prefer the shows on Vision class to those on Oasis-class; it's the singing and dancing without crazy plots.  Have a great cruise!  (We miss the ease of going to Baltimore from Bel Air now that we have retired to NC.)

My Soulmate and I will be sailing on Grandeur (NOV 08) ... (it will be our 3 cruise on her in the last 2 years).  We have sailed on every class of RC ship (except Empress and Majesty).  She is, obviously, one of our favourites.  Here are our biggest observations:
    1) Baltimore port is very easy to navigate ... in and out.  You will not feel like you are on a "cattle call".
    2) If you love to dance (or even like it a little bit), this might be the best cruise ship in RC's fleet.  We are always in the Centrum at 4:30ish to dance all the way until late seating.  Live bands on RC are great ... Lady G does not disappoint.  While you are dancing or enjoying the music, you will notice a "connection" to the sea.  Everywhere from the Centrum you can see outside.  Some of the larger ships rob you of this experience ... drink it up.
    3)  If you like a piano bar, the Schooner Bar is very similar to the ones on other RC ships, with one small exception.  We find it is a little more intimate, a little more inviting, and a great place to hang out.  AND, just like the Centrum, you are always connected to the sea ... there are wonderful views from virtually everywhere in the Schooner Bar.
    4)  The staff is excellent ... we have seen some of the crew twice now and really hope we see them again in NOV.
    5)  We are big "show people".  Still, even the basic performances on this small ship are very enjoyable.  They are genuine and feel more like someone is performing in your living room.  Very special.
    6)  If John Blair is the Cruise Director, he will perform his Neil Diamond Tribute.  We have seen twice (JAN 2006  & NOV 2018).  It is excellent.  After seeing the first time, I found myself listening to a lot more Neil Diamond.  Not to be missed.
    7)  The ship is extremely easy to get around.  This was different for us on our May cruise, as we just got of Harmony ... earlier in the year.  It is kind of nice to not have to plan 30 minutes in advance to get somewhere (slight exaggeration).  Have I mentioned yet, that you CAN ALWAYS SEE THE SEA.  This is a big plus and something not to be missed.
    8.  Relax ... we are always relaxed on this ship.  The Solarium is small, but very quiet and relaxing.
    9)  If you like to walk, the best place is on Deck 5  where you can walk outside all around the ship ... it is shaded for 95% of your trip.  Did I mention that you are still really connected to the seas.

As others have said, there are very few bells and whistles.  Still this is one of the most enjoyable cruise ships we have experienced.
    HAVE A BLAST ...

I agree we did the 12 Night Christmas and New Years sailing a couple of years ago and had a great time. Nothing like being in 80 degree weather in the Caribbean during Christmas and New Years. They had a group aboard that does Christmas carols every year, they had a great gingerbread town set up. The staff were great and it has an indoor pool and solarium so if (when) it's cold you can still swim and jacuzzi....
Santa handed out gifts (RC mug) to the kids....they had eggnog and Charleston, SC is a very cute town to visit.
    Enjoy!

Too many generalizations.....I know many Pinnacle Members that only cruise in Suites, to have sailed 700 days deserves perks and that's why RC have the most repeat customers and the most high cruising passengers. The whole reason Diamond Members got access to the CL back in the day started because the Suites were not using the lounge....they sat empty....CK is the same, many times they limit Pinnacle Members access....then it sits empty and they start booking the Pinnacles again....
I don't think Royal  has created a problem, they created an amazing business model that fills there ships with a diverse population and each year the build another ship and fill it too....this in part is there loyalty program....and they way many many people chase points to the next level.....it's actually quite genius.
I'm not so sure a Suite generates more revenue....it's the passengers that actually generate the revenue and it's easy to see that volume works with revenue generation because the ship have been carrying more and more passengers. Lets look at this way...... Suite is 500sqft (Premium Realestate plus perks) and 2 people pay $6000 or to have 3 Interior rooms at 150sqft (space that cant be used for anything more than storage, no perks) that pay $2000 each cabin (2 passengers)...so 450sqft brings in $6000 plus you have 4 extra people to buy drinks, shopping, tours and specialty restaurants...I think the sweet spot is about 5000 passengers….
I think Royal know exactly what it's doing and that's why they own a few different brands, Celebrity, Azamara, Silver Seas etc. each one has it's following and cliental.
    Just my 2 cents.
