leesam82 got a reaction from VirtKitty in WHY DO YOU CRUISE? WHAT IS THE DRAW?
I specifically cruise for two reasons. 1) I love the fact that I do not need to plan too many things in additional to the cruise itself. I don't need to call and figure out what restaurants to eat at etc. I don't need to worry if the restaurant is accessible. For me cruising is very convenient. Everything is right there. Essentially its a traveling all inclusive resort that moves to different ports. 2) I love the mulit-generational activities on board. I do a lot of traveling with grand parents, kids, other parents. It is nice knowing that there is something for everyone no matter the age. I personally think RCL has done a pretty good job of emphasizing this. I have family members that want to just do nothing and enjoy the sea breeze and read, while others want to go to the casino, and others who love the onboard shows. Cruises have a good mix of things for everyone in the family.

I would agree. I think just some one who is overall very attentive. We had an assistant waiter on anthem of the seas who was very attentive to the whole family's needs. He was very good in making sure our drinks were full and was always there if we needed anything in particular.

leesam82 reacted to Brenna in Fanny Pack?
I've been pro fanny pack since our trip to Universal in 2019
Bags are typically not allowed on the rides but three pronged fanny packs were so it saved us from having to stuff our stuff in a locker.
I bring it now for port days where I can keep our important stuff and leave the backpack for towels, waters, etc.

Yes! But one bit of warning on using Print screen or web capture, it will also capture the tabs of all of the internet pages that are active. So, close out porn sites so the tabs don't show.😆

leesam82 reacted to Kirsten in Oasis of the Seas May 8th Sailing Preview
I was on Oasis May 15th and I didn't feel like they were short-handed. The Solarium Bistro was open when I was on. Coco Cay was terrific; plenty of lounge chairs to choose from. The only time I felt it was crowded was in the pool areas. This is the third RC ship I've been on and don't remember feeling like the other two were so crowded.

leesam82 got a reaction from Machae in When You First Board....
This my boarding plan:
1) eMuster while waiting on line and on the way to the port
2) Report to muster station
3) Drink/Eat (solarium bistro or windjammer)
4) while eating book reservations for shows
5) reserve specialty dining
6) go to stateroom/unpack
7) walk around the ship
8. Sail away

leesam82 got a reaction from Sweety in Staffing Issues Query
I think overall it is up to each cruiser to make that decision. If you feel that you won't get the service expected for the amount you paid, I would definitely hold off till the staffing issues become better and supply issues are resolved. However if you are willing to be flexible and would rather be on board then by all means. This was the same choice many cruisers have faced earlier in the restart of cruising. Some cruisers did not want to come on board when masks were required because it would hamper their enjoyment of the cruise, while others felt it did not impact them at all. In the end its really a a matter of personal choice.
For me I booked my cruise for June 2022, knowing that there may be issues on board from covid to staffing. But I am willing to go with the flow.

leesam82 reacted to FireFishII in The four levels of cruise anticipation in the post covid era
Oh goodness - I am experiencing this RIGHT NOW!! Fortunately I am 2.5 weeks out but last night my son called telling me his son (my grandson) just tested positive for COVID. Yes, we had them over for Memorial Weekend. Now everyone in the family is scrambling for a PCR test since our home tests have been showing negative. At least if I do have COVID, I should be well enough to cruise on June 19th. Fingers and toes are crossed.
