Another issue I have with Nassau is the people themselves. I don't expect them to kiss my a$$ but generally, I have found them to be very unpleasant or even rude. Last time I went ashore, I had one vendor very nicely yell about his excursion and when I said, "No thanks," he told me to go f**k myself. I'm sure there are nice people in Nassau but I think I'll just stay on the ship.

Al Horner got a reaction from PPPJJ-GCVAB in Adventure OTS MDR
I've been on the Adventure OTS twice since December 2021. While the ship, the staff and the entertainment were all very good, I was disappointed in the evening food in the MDR. One meal, I had fried seafood and the fish was inedible. Another time I had the turkey dinner, which I have previously enjoyed. It was like it came out of a Stouffers frozen meal box. In the Windjammer, I took a prepared chilidog and it was cold like it had just come out of a refrigerator. These were offset by some good meals but the poor quality was enough that I had to wonder if this was unique to the Adventure or if it was a general trend throughout RCI?

Interesting study in the dynamics of safety protocols being strict enough to encourage more people to sail vs so strict that it discourages people.
I have a couple of medium (20+ people) groups that are probably going to cancel based on the requirement that kids 12+ have to be vaccinated for example.
My sailing on Freedom was fun, the mask mandate on board got old fast .. combine that with 100% vaccination and having to chase around jumping through hoops for pre-cruise testing and I am really struggling with whether its worth it for a quick weekend getaway.
Certainly not all Royal's decision and not their issue alone.

If you haven't used them all by the time you're ready for bed, get bottles of water or cans of soda and stick them in the minibar in your room. At least that way you don't lose them completely. Just make sure you do it before midnight or you'll be into the next day's allowance.

Of all the things that you think you're going to read - an employee being attacked with a cucumber was definitely not on my list (I don't mean to make light - but some things are so ridiculous).   This is horrific and my heart goes out to your mum.   I think this story is a perfect example of why mask mandates should remain in place until 75 or 80% of people have been fully vaccinated to offer real protection to those who are unable to be vaccinated because they are either immunocompromised or under age.   This pandemic has really shown people's true colours - both good and bad - but seems to have emphasized that a fair chunk of people will do what they want regardless of the consequences to others.
    I hope she's okay.

Nothing worse than going back to your cabin and having your clothes smell like smoke.

I hate hate hate it that Royal Caribbean allows smoking in the casinos. One, because I'd love to play. But besides that, I can smell it wafting into the Royal Promenade from the ships that have that spiral staircase from the Promenade into the Casino.
So I don't agree that their air filtration system before was great, and I hope that it gets better from here.

If Celebrity is successful at non-smoking casinos, why can't RCCL be?

As a matter of fact, we sailed in a D6 Ocean View Balcony on 8 April 2018 on Allure !!  If it hadn't been cancelled, we were going to sail in a <heaven forbid> Oceanview room on Majesty in May.  We are sailing in a JS in August on August.  So there !!

Just like almost everyone else on this board I hate it too. I was supposed to be on Oasis of the Seas next month. I just rescheduled my Carnival cruise for the second time. All I can say is you just gotta keep waiting. Contrary to what the media and the cruise haters may say, progress is being made and we will be back.

I've got two cruises booked (rebooked from previous cruises). One on May 2nd, 2021 on the Liberty of the Seas and one in July 2021 on a Celebrity ship. Neither are paid off. Normally, I pay my cruises off as early as possible. Now, I don't want to pay them off until the last possible minute. The May 2nd cruise has phenomenal perks due to being canceled (by RCL) and rescheduled twice. I thought the May 2nd cruise would be safe but now it's beginning to look there's a real possibility they won't be sailing by then. I am really tired of rebooking but I hate to lose those perks. I love cruising but I'm just not sure it's ever going to come back.

my December cruise was cancelled by RC and I decided on the full refund vs. the 125% credit. I'll cruise again when I don't have to wear a mask. thinking 2022 as it will take most of 2021 to get people vaccinated sufficiently.

Steak is good, the service is better than the MDR.  I felt a more relaxed dining experience. it costs extra --  but its a vacation.

I would agree with the others that Chops is a better value, in my opinion, when part of the Chops plus one or 3 night dining pkg. I wouldn't say it's Ruth's Chris or Outback. Maybe somewhere in-between. We have always enjoyed it, but have never really been blown away by it. Chops will continue to be part of our cruises, as much for the atmosphere as the food. The quiet and somewhat intimate dining room is a nice change of pace for the hustle and bustle of the rest of the ship.
