Last week I received an email from revenue management letting me know that my March bookings involved a pricing error but they would honor the bookings.
I had two suite cabins booked, one for me and another for a family member.  To give you an idea of the error involved my suite would normally go for 234% more while the other suite would normally be 255% more each on a solo basis given our unique qualifiers (CAS status, age, state, etc).  Both suites have the capacity for 6 guests.  I had booked both suites with a single guest in each cabin.
I offered to let the bookings go.  An email exchange followed that turned into a game of phone tag as we both worked around busy schedules but we eventually talked on the phone.
Revenue management was very clear I could keep the bookings and they would honor the pricing.  They requested the phone call to make sure I understood they would honor them.  I told her to cancel them.
I didn't feel right taking advantage of what was clearly a pricing error.  I knew it was a error when I booked it and give Royal a lot of credit for offering to honor the bookings despite the thousands of dollars they would lose by doing so.
A family of four booked in one of these suites would have gone for 500% more than I was booked for.  Between the two suites it amounted to an error that would cost Royal over $10k in revenue if both suites were booked at capacity not to mention losses in gratuity and onboard spending.
Simply stated it didn't sit right with me to take advantage of the company especially during these dark times with so much lost due to the pandemic.
Call me a fool but I slept better knowing I did the right thing.
BTW - nice people in revenue management.

The other problem with the CDC approach to delay cruising is bad timing.
Right now we have large numbers of people fully vaccinated combined with folks who have had the virus.
Six months from now the efficacy will not be what it is right now.  We don't know exactly what it will be but we do know it won't be what it is right now for either vaccinated or previously infected.
There is no guarantee the folks who vaccinated will accept boosters in 6 to 8 months.  Many are deciding to forego second shots so it seems logical many will forego boosters.
Right now is the best time to take advantage of the data trend.  Right now is the safest time to sail.
The CDC isn't following science, they are ignoring it.

    https://www.cnbc.com/2021/05/11/cdcs-credibility-is-eroding-amid-conflicting-mask-guidance-ex-obama-official-says.html
“I think the CDC’s credibility is eroding as quickly as the cases of coronavirus are eroding,” said Dr. Kavita Patel.
“There are men and women working on the lines outside on telephone and electricity lines, and they’re still wearing masks because, in the absence of this guidance, we’re making it up,” Patel said.
Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins has said her confidence in the agency is being undermined by conflicting CDC guidance.
“I used to have the utmost respect for the guidance from the CDC,” Collins said during a Congressional hearing on the pandemic response Tuesday. “I always considered the CDC to be the Gold Standard. I don’t anymore.”
The CDC did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.
Meanwhile, Alaska Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski has said federal mask requirements were endangering the work of fishermen.
“You’re out on a boat. The winds are howling. Your mask is soggy wet,” Murkowski said during the hearing. “Tell me how anybody thinks that this is a sane and a sound policy?”

There is a new promo that includes an allowance of $750 per person for airfare but it isn't combinable with other Galapagos promos.
In my case a Loyalty Galapagos promo for being Elite or above is looking better.  YMMV.

I've long thought someone at the CDC had a bad cruise.  Maybe their lover hooked up with another guest or maybe they are one of those people who write bad reviews because they made bad assumptions.
Come to think of it, making bad assumptions fits.

The judge may not grant an injunction but I do feel like the suit did cause action on the part of the CDC.  I'm not sure the latest updates for vaccinated guests would have been introduced without the lawsuit.
The CDC knows they were being ridiculous.
