  1. I actually just booked us on Harmony for next March in a CP balcony. It’s next to living wall but not one of the double balconies.

I chose it because we booked this cruise to get us to Diamond Plus and wanted to save money. We can drive to PC too. We’ve got 3 others booked, two of which are bucket list and emptying the wallet! Lol We really couldn’t pass up double points, so booked Harmony.

We have had a CP balcony before on Oasis. Also a March cruise. It was very pleasant to sit out there while at sea. You didn’t get blown away.

The only downside is you’re close to your neighbors across the way, but not enough of a bother to not book one.

We prefer ocean balcony but again, we were looking to save a few bucks.

Have not done a boardwalk and really no desire to.

How exciting! Still waiting for my Sept 3 Mariner sailing to open up for check in. I noticed yesterday that the safety info is available for viewing on the app though.

It is odd how some open for check in and others don’t. Hopefully yours will soon. In the app it gave me a check in date. Online just said not available. Have you checked the app for a check in date?

  3. Does Royal allow you to “gift” your vouchers? We have Symphony coming up and we have the DBP and I was wondering if we’re allowed to use our vouchers to “buy” someone a drink. I think it’d be fun to be a drink fairy and say send 2 glasses of champagne to a couple at dinner or send a fruity drink to a frazzled mom herding her kids at the pool.

  4. Michael Bayley just posted Reuters article.

A federal appeals court late on Friday reversed course and let stand a lower court order prohibiting the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) from enforcing coronavirus-related cruise ship restrictions in Florida.

    I can’t link it.

  5. After our excursion was cancelled to Nevis (ferry broke down), we got a tour from a guy named Sully (I can get his info if interested).

We still wanted to go to Nevis, so he made a call to a friend. We did an island tour on our way to a private ferry. Stopped at Timothy Hill (don’t touch the monkeys!) then came upon a pier.

We loaded into a brand new ferry boat and crossed over to this super small resort on Nevis. (Not kidding maybe a total of 24 people).

We had our own private beach with bar complete with a baby cow that came running through followed soon after by his mama looking for him.

It certainly was off the beaten path and we had a blast!

So... for those of us who left Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc and won't go back if you pay us to....

Are there any other such groups elsewhere, or at least some reasonably up-to-date web sites I can look at? I'll be on an Athens-to-Rome sailing in July/Aug next year, and we want to spend the night in Rome so we have a day or day and a half to explore the main sights at our leisure before flying home the next day. My mom still has friends who live there, but I'd prefer not to hammer them with a million questions unless I'm out of options.

I really only use Facebook for the cruise groups and cancer groups. I don’t do a whole lot with the “social” part of it. It really is great for groups. Just stay off your newsfeed lol

We are sailing out of the Bahamas.

I saw it in the cruise compass that bartenders would be checking ID’s and when I added the deluxe package for my 29 year old it automatically populates her siblings (aged 22,20 and 18) in the same cabin

RC policy though is North America and Caribbean. That would include the Bahamas no? Just don’t be disappointed if they cancel 2 of them. Let us know if they allowed it.

The J&J vaccine info, I got from the news. But the info on the impact of the Delta variant I got from my frontliner friends from 4 major hospitals here in Jacksonville.  COVID wings are opening up again, last summer’s COVID protocols have been reimplemented. That’s my cause for concern. I’m afraid CDC will impose stricter protocols again

It’s pretty worrisome here in Jax. My friend’s husband (who’s had 2 heart attacks and a bypass) was sent home with Covid because there were no beds at Baptist South. Mayo and Memorial also were full. His cardiologist got him into Flagler for an antibody infusion and he’s turned around.

I lucked out and didn't get either of my kids' passports until they were over 11 years old. So only one renewal for each (younger is due now ?), but I hear you.

I was going to wait until January to renew ahead of our August Med sailing, but after seeing this here and now even on the local cable-owned news channel (News 12 NJ) I've decided I'll just send in her renewal now, plus my own that's also coming due. Can avoid the expedited processing fee and should still get it back in plenty of time.

I had one of those “oh ?” moments years ago checking in for our oasis cruise. Youngest child’s passport had expired. I had 10 years on the brain and never thought about it being expired. Thankfully back then, it took about 10 days with expedite. By the time we renewed it, she was 18, so we’re good for awhile and actually it’s her problem now as she’s almost 22.
