  3. After the show, we headed to Playmakers. By this point, it was already past 9pm, which we consider really late for dinner. Best part of dinner? Our waiter from JR yesterday happened to be walking by. He was joking around and asked us which place is better; Playmakers or JR? We said the onion rings were definitely better at JR. Next thing we know, he’s back with 2 plates. By the time dinner was done, we were all tired and stuffed. No one could handle eating cake at this point. So @Jax, this is why I cannot tell you what kind of cake it is yet. We might eat cake for breakfast tomorrow morning instead

  5. Aqua 80 was awesome! We have never seen this show in its entirety. The music is amazing; music was so much better in the 80s and 90s! Loved the diving and the dancing, and what is up with the divers in Speedos???! Again, my memory is failing me, but do they wear Speedos in other Aqua shows? but not complaining here lol I will upload some video clips to IG later. @bellemiche I am happy to report that we stayed dry this time!

  7. After the SC session, I met up with Shane for another coffee at Starbucks. Then we headed off to Izumi for lunch. Izumi was yummy, a bit slow, but not a big deal cause it’s not like we have anywhere to go. SC food coma has finally set it. Everyone is stuffed, and napping

  8. At 7:30pm we headed to Playmakers for dinner. This is when I found out from Shane that we were actually headed back to Nassau. I did not hear the earlier announcement. Because Shane is such a great genie, he already had already thought ahead and saved us 4 seats at the 8pm showing of Aqua80. He thought the waters would be more calm as we headed back to Nassau, greater chance of show actually happening. So we had a choice, eat dinner at 7:30pm or go see the show, eat later. We all chose to watch the show.

  9. Dinner tonight: Giovanni's Italian Kitchen I've done Jamie's before on Navigator, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was GREAT. Not crowded, excellent service, and calm atmosphere. Typically I'll do a specialty restaurant for formal night, so tonight was it. I started with truffle caprese salad and garlic knots. Knots = meh (but the olives it came with were divine), salad = interesting. After thinking about it a lot, I think I was in love with the greens and tomatoes for the salad. Main course. My server recommend the osso buco (veal), so I got a small portion of that with spaghetti pomodoro. Oh. My. Gosh. I had no idea what to expect with the veal, so when it came out the look of it was just strange to me. However! I took a bite and fell in love. It was literally falling off the bone, and there was saffron on it as well. Absolutely fantastic, highly recommended. The spaghetti pomodoro was exactly what I expected it to be and it tasted exactly that way. Definitely recommended. For dessert, they automatically give you limoncello drink. I found it a very strange taste, even though I am a huge fan of lemon. Then, out came my chocolate ravioli. I kid you not, I told Spouse later that I would totally marry it if I wasn't already married. We would have little chocolate ravioli children, our house would always smell like chocolate, and I would be able to eat it all the time because my chocolate ravioli spouse would constantly be making chocolate ravioli. If you don't order this, you're missing out. Then, to make it even more special, my server offered to get a pizza to go! I didn't even realize you could do this. So, of course I said yes. Of course I had part of it on my balcony while watching sunset. It's delicious (Giovanni's pizza).

  10. Star class flowriding worked to our advantage this morning. You never know how these sessions turn out. Always unpredictable. Sometimes a ton of people show up and you only get one run. Sometimes no one shows up. Today, only Andrew, Owen, and Justin showed up at the start. They got some good runs in for the first 30mins until another family arrived. All together 5 riders for the last 30 mins. That is pretty decent. Hubby is working on better “carving” this sailing. I don’t even know if I spelt that correctly lol One thing I found interesting this morning is that no Genies showed up to this session. When I think back to all the SC sessions we have had since the restart, a genie has always met their guests at the FlowRider to get them set up etc. Now, for us it doesn’t really matter because Shane likely knows that Andrew, Owen, and Justin all have waivers signed and know their way around the FlowRider. But the other family that arrived around 9:30am, they probably could have used some assistance. We ended up having to help them out a bit. When I mentioned this to Shane later, he said that on Oasis, the sports staff runs the session. But the sports staff also wasn’t giving this family guidance either so….

  11. All in all it's a pretty normal day here. I understand some excursions were cancelled such as Jet ski tours and Amiga island. I don't know the reasoning and didn't ask. I would not hesitate to book another cruise with only a stop in Labadee. Now back to Labadee for round two with the Labradoozie Society.

  13. I didn't plan to do a full live report from this short 4 night cruise on Liberty from Port Everglades with a single stop in Labadee, Haiti. However Haiti has been in the news lately and so I thought I'd at least post some Labadee photos to illustrate Labadee is still as beautiful as it has always been. I booked this cruise at the last minute just three days before the sail date. Haiti has been in the news since before I booked this cruise yet on Friday morning when I saw a relatively okay cruise fare that was open for solo cruisers to book I had no hesitation booking this cruise. I've been to Labadee countless times and I'm very familiar with the social economic and political background of Haiti. There is no need to visit any of that in this thread. I'm here in Labadee as I write this, back on the ship after a two and half mile walk around Labadee. Spoiler alert - It's still beautiful here and I still love Labadee. Next up, some photos...

  15. Guests were streaming onto the roller coaster and by now zip liners were making their flight over water. These featherweights stalled at the bottom and needed a rope assist to finish their journey.

  16. A quick stop at Barefoot Beach before it was heavily populated with suite guests for the day. Next over to Nellie's Beach. And on to Columbus Cove. A short stroll through the artisan's market. Then over to Adrenaline Beach. It's an absolutely fantastic day here at Labadee.

  18. Good morning from nearly Nassau. I can see Atlantis but we haven't docked yet. The water is like glass. There are 3 ships coming in - us, a Carnival ship, and something else I can't quite identify on sight. Exercise for the day = done. Love the walking track on Deck 4/5. 1 lap = 700m, or 0.44 mi. Going toward the bow of the ship. It's dark! Bow, pre-sunrise. Interesting how dark they keep it. Hello, people working on the bridge! I had the area to myself for 30 minutes. It was bliss. Through the window I also discovered that the shuffle board equipment is stored on the wall. Now I know.

  19. Best balcony conversation overheard: Guy down the way: Hey bro! Guy somewhere below me: Who, me? Guy DTW: Yeah bro! Guy SBM: Do we know each other, bro? Guy DTW: I don't think so. Guy SBM: Ok.... Wanna get a drink? Guy DTW: *really excited* YEAH BRO, I KNEW YOU WERE AWESOME!

  22. Attempted a nap in my cabin but the MSC ship next to us was having a jamming party on the pool deck. Now I realize it was their sort of sail away party. Oh well, I'll sleep when I'm dead. Back to my casita. Random observation: there are a LOT of people on board that don't know how sunblock works apparently. But don't worry, the college girls with the glittery sunblock are perfectly fine. EDIT: TWILIGHT VAMPIRES. That's what the glitter sunblock reminds me of. Could NOT put my finger on what it reminded me of until now.

  23. You and I both! But now he says it might happen at any time So when Shane saw D15 at lunch earlier he asked how her day was going. She said she grabbed breakfast in the WJ (cause my kids cannot wake up early enough for CK). I caught the look and thought of you right away! We all had good laugh. Then hubby asked Shane if he could reserve a table at the WJ. He said he certainly could but perhaps a delivery of WJ food would be more enjoyable

  24. When I got back to my casita, the attendant working my side of the casitas brought me a mojito and a plate of fruit. LOVE. It's 1:00 p.m. and my casita is totally shaded. Perfect.

  25. Lunch in the Windjammer. I can't believe this is the first time I've been there and it's Day 3 now. Also the Bahamas are just gorgeous. I stopped by Sprinkles on the way back to my casita. Worth it.

  26. The point was now open so I ventured out for a look. Walking along the fort the little bit of cloud cover has burned off and it's a beautiful day in full sunshine. With the ship in full sunlight I stopped at the overlook again for more pictures. Finishing at the base of pier the area was much busier now so a few last photos of the ship.

  27. More guests have been strolling off the ship and it was getting harder to take photos without guests in the pictures so it was time for a Labadee tradition. The Labradoozie Society was calling my name.

  28. Our arrival was on time without any special announcements. Right on time the gangway was open and off I went, nearly first off the ship. Being early off means the usual instagram photos spots were void of fellow passengers. I walked up the nature path to the overlook for another view of the ship. Around the fort the path to the point was closed but I later found it was open so back to that in a bit. Meanwhile... it's a normal day in paradise.

  31. Did this on Harmony in Feb. It was about 20 people, 2 long tables with 2 chefs leading. I found it pretty much in keeping with what I would have expected. I also thought that the quality of the ingredients was very good, and the quantity of sushi I made and ate was certainly worth the cost of the class.

  32. Another day at Labadee is in the books. We had great weather and a great day at Labadee. Bonus for seeing my shadow (I’m the one waving). Does that mean six more weeks of cruising? Farewell Labadee, until next time.

  33. OMG. I have tried really hard not to let reality interfere with my relaxing on this trip, but........DQ is going to put me in an early grave. Today is early out from school, so she arrived home before Spouse. We have a Ring camera and I can see everything at the front door. She apparently can't find her house key, and then I see her walk around the side of the house. WTF? So I called her to figure out what had happened. DQ had forgotten her house key today, so she went around to the back of the house and CRAWLED THROUGH THE DOG DOOR. She is super lucky that we have big dogs. I'm seriously wondering how the dogs reacted now. I'm just going to be over here rolling my eyes and smacking my forehead. THIS CHILD.

  39. Dinner - Night 2 French Onion Soup - why do they put SO much cheese on top... it's like they want you to get diabetes or something, I've never been a fan of french onion soup though... The Seafood Linguine was the best part of the dinner, it was pretty good. And the desert - Strawberry Icecream was also good.. Mexican tomorrow. I decided I would treat myself this time around and booked for Izumi's for Night 6...

  40. Ooh I love this! By this message I assume the Genie special happens after lunch and before supper. You have already done the escape room, I don’t think it would be the flowrider because you don’t do that, I don’t think you would go rock climb, not sure if you would do mini golf . Knowing your goal to spend time in your suite he may be planning something along those lines. This is proving to be more difficult than I thought. I will wait for the morning clues.

  44. One other thing I remembered that I wanted to put here before I go to bed. The shuttles around PDCC actually have different functions. This is something I didn't realize the last time I was here. They have several. There is one that strictly goes between the entrance plaza and Hideaway Beach and back. That one is just a little one car shuttle. There's another one car shuttle that goes directly from the entrance plaza to the ship and back. There is a two car shuttle, and that is the one that goes all around the island. Then, after 2:00 p.m., they have little one car shuttles running around the island to particular stops that will take you directly back to the ship. I actually got on at the Chill Island stop and it dropped me off at the ship. No stops in between. No stops in between. and it dropped me off at the ship.

  45. I really like the four nights. I have been doing three nights previously because that's all I could really do, aside from the seven nighter that I did last summer with the kids. It's hard to get away when you have work and life responsibilities. However, this one happened to work out really well and I like that even though I feel like it's a three-nighter with port stops, I get an extra day to kind of recuperate after that. Trying to make the best of this cruise my way!

  46. If only I was a top tier member.... Speaking of.. when I boarded the ship they printed Gold status for me under Crown and Anchor, but the Royal Caribbean app said apparently I'm Plat.. so I went to the Loyalty Ambassador desk to clear it up and he gave me a new Seapass Card!

  47. Dinner night 1 The chicken (pie) - I didn't eat the pastry - was good.... but it just looked so sad with the one single broccoli. The spag bol was nice I suppose, a little bit salty for my liking. I've got a little observation I wanted to point out - the waiters in the MDR were extremely friendly, however, they were also a little bit ... I don't know the word - they'd come up to you every 5 seconds and ask you how the food was or the service or if you'd like anything else. Like don't get me wrong. I know they're just being friendly, and I personally don't mind, but other people would be very bothered by this. Day 2 soon.

  48. After ice cream, I went to the Schooner Bar to meet up with @recogneyes. I really love getting together with her! Great conversation about all sorts of things. I got her to try the lavender martini and just so great to see her again. I am sad because we talked about our cruising upcoming cruise schedules and it doesn’t look like we will see each other for a while.
