Just reached platinum. Was anybody else excited to get the use of robes as I am? Can't wait for the next cruise to avail of them.

LOL, not particularly.  I shied away from them when I started wondering who used them before me.  Platinum was just a steppingstone to emerald, and then diamond, which is where the fun really begins.  Congrats on getting platinum though!

I'm gonna be honest. I was excited the first time. Used the robe. Once. Never again, they honestly felt pretty cardbordey. 

But hey maybe you have better luck than me.

 

The nicer perk of Platinum, to me, is the 50% coffee beverages.

If you are a robe person, then this is a good perk. I never use the robe as they aren't comfortable. But my brother loves this perk and uses not only his robe but mine. Of course, the best perk truly begin when you reach D+ .

I had no idea about this perk!  But then I never cruise without the Refreshment package so don’t need the discount, I guess!  It’s a nice perk for someone else though!

Not me, but my wife has requested her robe every cruise since getting the perk.

Our first Platinum cruise was last week! And yes, we made sure to get the robes - which we found to be more absorbent than the towels haha.

We can only cruise once a year and we were able to reach Platinum after only 3 cruises (a 9-night 2022 cruise counted as double points!). We have a long way to go to the next tier!

Also, Platinum gets $4 free play at the Casino (Gold gets $2). I was able to turn that $4 into a tank of a gas last week haha.

I reached Diamond prior to my Icon cruise.  I almost asked for a robe on my Icon cruise but decided against it.

If you like the robes, then great!  Enjoy the perk!

I have never used them.

It's the thought that counts, and a robe can help you feel special. But, no, I don't wear them either.

As Plat and Emerald, you get 2 vouchers for a 50% off "coffee beverages". I often get an iced whatever or 2 during a cruise. It's not an earth shattering perk but it's certainly nice. Especially since I never get any sort of drinks package.

My 9 year old turns into Hugh Heffner on cruises.  As soon as we get back to the cabin, whatever he's wearing comes instantly off and it's robe and slippers 100% of the time.

Couldn't recite the Platinum benefits on a bet. But beyond the sandpaper robes, because crew members in various venues were at the top of their games they informed  us and applied discounts for beverage purchases (beer & wine, a hoity toity coffee for Mrs Geezer at Cafe Promenade), photo purchase discount, RC branded stuff at the "company store".

Yeah, the benefits are baked into the SeaPass card, but nice the crew is thoughtful enough to give you the heads up.

I only requested the robe once, and that was last fall on Anthem. (I'd forgotten to pack mine.) It was rough and in really poor condition. I agree that the coffee discount is a much better perk, especially when the crew member remembers it for you.

I'll hit Platinum after this upcoming cruise. I didn't know about the robe perk. I'll have to used it on next cruise

I always wonder if the people strolling down the promenade in their bathrobes recently hit platinum

The robes came in handy as a “weighted blanket” on 2 different sailings when I was sick.  Other than that I have no use for them.  My daughter loves the robe to wear to/from the hot tub.

I remember approaching platinum and looking forward to the robes.
