  1. Now I know the entirety of the cruise industry along with most of the economy has been negatively impacted by recent announcements of tariffs on imports and the inevitable retaliatory tariffs on the other side, but I want to know how these tariffs will specifically impact me as a cruiser to a foreign country. What specific changes will I notice other than locals not having as pleasant a reaction to seeing me in their fine establishments? Should I throw on Canadian maple leaf themed clothes and try to convince people I am a local to obtain better service? How will it impact goods purchased on ship and at these destinations for re-entry at customs?
  2. Maybe one day the Sovereign class and my time with the Song of Norway class ships will be added to profiles so we can show off to all our fellow cruisers how obsessed dedicated we are to the Royal Caribbean brand. Oh how I miss you Song of America!
  3. Definitely great advice. I appreciate the detailed responses for each port. My mother really loves guided tours so I went out of my way to book official tours. I have learned in life that you should always give your mom what she wants. When I book tours on my own in the US and other English speaking countries I download self guided auto tours and then walk around places. I spent over a month driving around all of Great Britain. Amazing pubs all over the place and castles to explore, and the countryside in Wales was stunning.
  4. I decided to sail to Canada in October. It may be my last sea voyage, as angry Canadians might sink my ship Liberty of the Seas due to our countries now being at war with each other. I opted for an Owner's Suite, to celebrate my mother's retirement. This is my third time in this room category, previously selected it for Wonder of the Seas and Enchantment of the Seas. This will be my first time sailing on this class of ship. I have never been on a 9 night cruise before, I will need to make sure I pack more clothes. I have also never had 5 ports of call. I love cold weather much more than warm weather. I am the type of person who walks around in subzero temperatures in a t-shirt and flip flops. I am sure this will be an unforgettable experience, but not sure if for the right reasons. Here are my excursions. I have read the articles already created by the site staff but would like any feedback from any of the forum members about my selections, I purposefully chose excursions that would last all day. The Roads of Revolution: In the Footsteps of Paul Revere White Mountain Explorer by Conway Scenic Railroad St. Martins and The Bay of Fundy Halifax Sightseeing, Peggy's Cove, and Citadel Hill Lure of Lighthouses & Fortress of Louisbourg
  5. Tropical Storm Sara, well we sure made it through a lot of names this year.
  6. Main Development Region, has the cruise industry upset you this year? Please calm down.
  7. Weather patterns for the hurricane have resulted in a very interesting forecast path. The hurricane may have consumed a few too many of the other type of hurricanes.
  8. Well the ship certainly suffered bar damage. All that amazing wasted alcohol saddens me deeply.
  9. Latest update from Hurricane Center, MDR is active.
  10. This is the type of news I love to report.
  11. Since there are children who visit this site I will play it safe and suggest a service at the Vitality Spa. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/experience/vitality-spa The team here created this article regarding all the amazing services you can choose from. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2024/03/19/royal-caribbean-spa-package-prices-2024

  14. We even have an article about it. Well Royal Caribbean has an article about it. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/blog/royal-caribbean-changes-the-game-with-muster-2-0/
  15. Well....I was not expecting this update.
  16. Latest updates from the Hurricane Center. Nadine and Oscar doesn't look all that powerful. Still, rain and wind on your cruise would be unfortunate.
  17. I am still deciding if I need to punish Florida again. I
  18. As an Italian-American we would mutiny if not given our beloved full pizza. I ordered a full pizza twice late night at Sorrentos a few weeks ago on Wonder and the wonderful pizza chefs were more than happy to fulfill our requests.
  19. Keep an eye on this system for possible development in about a week.
  20. Well you can see much of Florida is still without power. https://poweroutage.us/area/state/florida
  21. The damage reminds me of when Hurricane Katrina impacted the Louisiana Superdome.
  22. Our formal nights were our first sea day DAY 3 and also the first sea day on the way back to port which was DAY 6. In general, days when you are in port are NOT formal days. Also the first day you board and the day before you leave are never formal because your luggage has not been delivered or been picked up for leaving the ship.
  23. poor Florida, it's going to be a rough week of cleanup from this storm.
  24. The only other major issue was a days long closed off corridor in the suites area where water poured through the 18th floor for over a day. I have concealed a staff members face in this photo for privacy reasons. They had numerous buckets of water, it was a blackish color. The repair effort lasted a few day and was quite intensive, with teams of two people entering damaged area to repair the problem.
