Jamesszy94
I was having a look at the 2024 Royal Caribbean fleet on their website... There's a star next to Allure and Explorer (a star means means they've been upgraded)... but none next to Liberty and Adventure.. Is this a mistake or am I missing something? asquared17

Jamesszy94
The other two ships (Liberty and Adventure) that were scheduled to be amplified don't have star next to their names RCIfan1912

Matt
I think it's just leftover from when both ships were supposed to get amplified, but didn't. I wouldn't read too much into it yet. Jamesszy94 and RCIfan1912 1
RCIfan1912
I kinda hoping just to see the difference that Liberty gets an update soon because we sail get this October and then next. It would be cool if we see her next month and then an updated Liberty 1 year from now. USCG Teacher
RubberKai
I'm on Explorer this week. They did a lazy amplification. Didn't touch the hotel, but they added a new slide and repainted a little bit. They installed Starlink, but haven't touched the inside Wifi network repeaters. (To be slowly updated) Diamond Lounge looks great, but Suite lounge is depressing and tiny. Most nights this week there's standing room only. Jill
On allure now. Heard 2025 for her dry dock (last was 2020). Hope they upgrade her but leave the slides off. Been so nice without all those ugly slides. Lol

We were on Explorer last month, and i agree the suite lounge was pretty sad (interior, no windows) BUT since it was right down the stairs from our cabin it came in handy all week!!! I loved running over there for coffee and a pastry early morning, then stopping in for a drink and snack on our way back to the cabin late afternoon! I did use it more than usual just because it was so convenient!

Our bathroom has rust on the doorway which I honestly don't understand how that happens.
Jamesszy94
You have to remember, Freedom and her sisters are 16, 15 (Liberty) and 14 (Indy) years old respectively, they're bound to show some wear and tear especially after the thousands of cruises they've had. It's a shame about Explorer's "amplification" though, hopefully once Royal has full recovered from the pandemic, they can give her a proper amp and give her the love she deserves, same with Allure. I wonder when/if Adventure will get her amp

smokeybandit
Yes, just waterslide, along with the usual oil change/tire rotation. No new or upgraded restaurants as are typical with a full amp. PPPJJ-GCVAB
Austin
Explorer had a lot of interior touch ups including carpeting, chairs, etc. I was actually pretty impressed. I think that’s all she will get. Really that’s all Voyager’s “amp” was anyway. Nothing fancy like Navigator and Mariner. dr martini

Not sure when you were on Oasis, but realize she is now 4 years+ post AMP; things get a little worn in that time. I was on one of the first cruises Post AMP, one of the last cruise pre lockdown, and the carpet was new (or new looking) and much of the furniture in public areas was new. Zambia-Zaire
I cruised on Oasis a few months after she got amped. Now either Royal didn't do their due diligence or they had a tremendous population of filthy cruisers during the months before I board. Lucky
When do you think we'll find out the details of Allure's amplification? I booked her for fall 2025 so fingers crossed they're good. I did find this from 2019 when she was supposed to be amplified. Hopefully it remains at this or better. RCIfan1912

We were on one of the last sailings before they were to put Allure in drydock for the amp...of course Covid canceled that. But, that list is what was shared with us. That dry slide is such a waste of money and space so I am hoping they eliminate that from the old list. RCIfan1912 and WAAAYTOOO 1
JohnK6404
2 hours ago, Mike n Ky said: That dry slide is such a waste of money and space so I am hoping they eliminate that from the old list. For us, it was neat the first couple of times we went down the slide, but like the Bionic Bar, the novelty eventually wears off. My gut tells me they will still put it on Allure since all of the other Oasis class ships (Wonder and Utopia included) have the Ultimate Abyss. They may tweak it, but my guess is that a dry slide will be added. Unless Oasis 7 is dropping the slide, I'd expect it to be there for consistency. We're booked for May 2025, so of course we're hoping for a significant amplification at least to the level of Oasis. I'm sure they will integrate new ideas (learned from recent Oasis and Icon class ships per Jason Liberty's recent comment) and can't wait to see what those changes will encompass! I bet new dining options/experiences like Utopia, Playmaker's, etc., at a minimum. Mike n Ky
WAAAYTOOO
The reason that I expect the Abyss to be in the Allure amp is b/c I suspect that the slide was purchased a LONG time ago and that the parts/materials are in storage in Cadiz just waiting to be installed. Whatever updates/mods were planned for Allure have long since been procured (my guess) and so they will be implemented as originally designed. Unfortunately, this is probably also true of the bionic bar. UGH JohnK6404, PPPJJ-GCVAB, Mike n Ky and 1 other 2 1

I certainly agree with WaayTooo assessment on reason why Ultimate Abyss will be installed on the Allure of the Seas; however, I couldn't agree more with your(Mike n Ky) sentiment. I think a roller-tracked Zipline, that venture off both back sides, diagonally, of the ship(like racers), briefly over the sea, back in towards the Boardwalk, a number of cabins deep into & over said Boardwalk, to its current ending point, using an applied braking system. This, imo, would be a much more thrilling & fun attraction, while attracting more traffic to both areas of the ship(Deck 16 & 6). Get more repeat adventures... as proof, the current rendition of the zipline onboard now, which appear to very, very popular, constantly in operation, despite the short length & very quick duration, of the attraction. Austin
The Abyss is a marketing piece, so they will definitely have it. Hopefully bionic bar is canned, otherwise we will lose the champagne bar to it. I’m sure the Brazilian steakhouse is history too, but I wish they would keep it since only Allure and Radiance have it. It’s nice to have some variety between Oasis ships.

It’s nice to have some variety between Oasis ships. I certainly agree about the Bionic Bar... it's a waste much like Wonderland was on other Oasis Class ships. However, I think it's time for a modern update to the Champagne Bar... not necessarily doing away with it, refresh the look and feel, yes; but, make it a more multi-use venue, at Certain Times of the day. Have a portable jumbotron(~130" to 150" screen, comprise of 9 smaller screens inserted together forming one unison screen) whereas the cruise director can have a mix of fun pay or free games like "Deal or No Deal, Yes/No Game, Guess, Bingo, any number of interactive passenger participating games, etc... not all in one day mind you, just one or two choice games per day, spread out over the course of the cruise. Maybe three games, on sea days, all between the noon to twilight hours. Variety is not necessarily essential; but, surely appreciable on ships within the same class. So, each venture, on any number of ships within the same class, offer a unique experience, from a different perspective. For an example: install Blaster Aqua Coaster & Riptide on Allure of the Seas vs the typical traditional water slides we see on Oasis, Harmony, & Symphony. Another example: Modernize Johnny Rockets by opening the inside up, add some tv screens both inside & out, creating more seating for those to watch any variety of sport games or just turn it into a Playmakers, that sits on both sides of the Boardwalk or make it a Bamboo Club, like on Navigator. I spend a lot of time on the Boardwalk, and Johnny Rockets is fairly empty all day. My same experience on Anthem, with slightly better traffic because it's located on the pool deck. Would love to see Jazz on 4, located in Central Park... maybe call it Jazz on 8. A cascading pool in the Solarium, like on Anthem. These are just a few ideas, I would love to see, that obviously & probably, will never happen.
