Andrew72681
I seemed to remember before that Playmakers was not covered, just got an email from RC stating that they’ve added it. Matt, mom2mybugs and SpeedNoodles 2

Excellent - it wasn't with the Ultimate Dining Package, but I was hoping it would be with the Unlimited Dining Package - thanks for sharing! AshleyDillo
Looks like they had so many questions on it they wanted to get it in writing somewhere. They haven't updated the blurb on the cruise planner..it still says it's only lunch on sea days..but the T&C at the bottom of the dining page say it's for anytime the restaurant is open as does this email. So Ultimate diners should be able to hit up anything open on embarkation day for lunch as well. Baked Alaska and SpeedNoodles

Would definitely change the math between getting and not getting The Key.
WAAAYTOOO
I got this message from them as well. I had to laugh at the typo “dinging experiences”. Does no one proof read these things before they are sent out ? KristiZ, coneyraven and Hoski 1

We've seen their IT debacles, why would marketing material be any better? WAAAYTOOO
SpeedNoodles
That, and ""Discount only applies when dining on your using your package." Did I have a stroke so this makes no sense in my brain, or did the writer have a stroke? Or was it written by an 8-year-old (which may be an insult to 8-year-olds. If so, I apologize. I don't know much about kids). WAAAYTOOO

I’m just imaging the first time someone gets onboard thinking that specialty dining is unlimited, only to find out that no specialty dining is open on port days. Mike P
I received this email today as well. Would love to have seen "lunch on embarkation day" in there as well. *Actually I now see that the email states "lunch and dinner".

AshleyDillo
$35 per person is a lot of food at Playmakers! But now everyone with the package can do the Playmakers burger vs Johnny Rockets burger challenge. #teamJR

alamode123
With the old package you could do lunch at a specialty restaurant on embarkation day, but they weren't all open, at least on our last cruise on the Mariner in March. We ate at Jamie's.

marti314
Its pretty smart for RCL to include these "cheaper" food options in the package. Filling up on burger / chicken wings / fries is much better than the higher priced tenderloin/seabass/shortribs etc.... WAAAYTOOO
We are currently on Freedom and have both the Unlimited Dining Package and the Deluxe Drinks Package. We decided that we were going to put the new “unlimited” rules to the test ! On our last sea day (yesterday) we made reservations for Sabor at 6:00 just for chips, guacamole and margaritas with an 8:00 reservation at Chops for the “real thing”. Epic fail ! We had Johnny Rockets for lunch (including shakes) and at 6:00 there was NO WAY we were ready to eat again. Regrettably, we called Sabor and cancelled our 6:00 snack rezzie and showed up at Chops at 8:00 just BARELY ready to eat again. The good news is, we could have done both but made the rookie mistake of gorging on JR at lunch. Note to self: Eating at multiple venues for dinner requires stalwart fasting in preparation. A little personal self control would have worked as well...unfortunately, we have none. We did make one small “unlimited” sortee at Chops though. We decided to both order filets and also order a third entree (spicy shrimp) to share so the old limitation about only being able to order 1 entree each seems to be gone. Opinion of new Unlimited Dining Package ? Yippee !!! Happy dance ! One additional [probably] unrelated observation...the specialty restaurants on this sailing have been JAM PACKED. Even the normally lightly visited Sabor has been extremely busy. I don’t know if the new package has anything to do with it (doubtful since it’s so new) but all of the restaurants have been fully booked every night. Food and service has remained good. Had to go to Sabor which was the only other specialty open.

Miller Lite
Any word on $35.00 credit for Izumi Hibachi?
twangster
4 hours ago, Miller Lite said: Any word on $35.00 credit for Izumi Hibachi? Hibachi has not typically been a la carte so the $35 credit doesn't apply. It's a cover charge venue - pay the price and eat, just like Chops or Jamie's or Giovanni's or... If you are asking if Hibachi is included in the UDP, that will vary ship by ship, cruise by cruise based on bookings and availability. That is why Royal does not state it is included, it gives them flexibility to change and prioritize paid individual bookings for a particular cruise. Susie
5 hours ago, Miller Lite said: Any word on $35.00 credit for Izumi Hibachi? It had been reported on another cruise site (CC) that Izumi Hibachi included on Mariner OTS with $35 credit. If the meal cost more than $35 you will need to pay a difference. Example, A 2 protein meal cost $45 - $35 credit = need to pay $10 extra per person. IMO, I think that include on all ships that have Hibachi but so far it had been reported from Mariner OTS. Ask the restaurant before you make a reservation.
