The toppings bar is pretty on point at El Loco Fresh...too bad on our sailing they didn't seem to know what tortilla chips were and didn't have them available.  Pretty sure that was just an anomaly.  If I was bored with CK lunches I would go there.  Actually I would piggy it up and do both more than likely ?

That is what will likely end up happening lol.

You missed it last week when the group was on the look out for Mongolian Night in the WJ for Hubby.  When it finally happened, Hubby had two dinners that night lol.

Hmmm.  Have to think about this for January.  It will be my 4th time seeing it, but I'm already looking forward to seeing it again.

Just go early and line up.  I was first in line at 45min prior to show time.  No trouble getting seats.  #exilefromstarclass?

But @Matt is correct.  It did fill up quickly and we didn't even go at the same showtime.  People were saving entire rows of seats.  Some even reported that people were saving seats for those in the stand by line.  It was pretty ridiculous.

Where were the seats?  If up front near/at front row then that would be a reason to book (although at the same time, hard to spend $ when you can also see it for free)

On the most recent Anthem cruise that @Matt is referring to, there were no reserved seats at the very front for suites/The Key/Insider's View guests.  Only Star Class had the front rows.  I noticed the the reserved seats for others were one section up above the sound booth.  Still centered but raised from the main section.  This applied to all shows (not just WWRY) that we watched in the theater.

I'd probably go with CK even though CK lunch isn't my favorite meal there.  Miami is super hot these days and if for no other reason than to stay in the A/C I'd probably go #teamCK

Once the ship is at sea and there is a breeze El Loco Fresh may be cooler than the surface of the sun.

Good point!  I didn't even think of that!

  5. @Sydney97 keep in mind that the deluxe package includes everything...alcoholic drinks, specialty coffee, fresh juice and smoothies (Symphony has a smoothie bar), bottled water, and soda.  I feel that is often overlooked whenever people wonder if it is worth it or not.

A typical cocktail or frozen drink will be around $13.  Bottled water is $3.  Specialty coffee can up be up to $8.95.

I am of the mindset to purchase and watch for sales like @Skid mentioned.  Re-pricing is no problem at all.  Also drink packages on the larger ships like Symphony tend not to drop below ($47/day), not from what I have tracked over the the last year and a half. Traditionally, Black Friday usually nets the best savings.

  6. Wow!  Jane...this sounds like an amazing trip!  We did a 12 night itinerary similar to this one on Brilliance back in 2005.  It was one of my favourite cruises ever!  Very port intensive but the memories and pictures that we have from that trip are so precious.  Soak it all up!  I've been wanting to do an itinerary like this again, but that is not in the 10 year plan at the moment.  Probably when my girls are older like yours.  I'll be following for sure!

I don't usually care about our space much, but this will be nice since the whole trip will be 16 days with our pre-cruise stay in barcelona.  Those of you with teenagers know that some space will definitely be needed!

This made me laugh out loud!  I was so happy to come home after 11 nights from NYC/Anthem GC just to get "my space" back!  I get it!

I truly wish that we were on a different ship in that I really wanted to try radiance class,

With these port intensive European sailings, it doesn't really matter what ship you are on.  You'll be so tired you'll barely see it lol.  Better on a small ship because then you don't feel like you are missing out as much on board.

Chops is a trickier restaurant for my vegetarian girl, but she can live on the sides!!!  And the dessert!!!

    Red Velvet Cheesecake!

  7. I will echo what others have said in that it is a really subjective question.

Would I personally pay $1000 for the 1BDR ATS over the loft?  No way.  I love the exclusivity of the Deck 17 and unless it's a trade for the A1 or A2, I would not give up Deck 17.

Truth be told, the ATS feels cramped to me compared to the lofts.  Even the A1 and A2s.  They lack the "Wow" factor of the loft and the two levels really open up the space even if the room is narrow.  If you book those rooms, you are getting them for the balcony really.  Just my honest opinion.

Mobility wise, are stairs potentially going to a problem for you?  I remember a few conversations with others who have said that they had to sleep downstairs because they could not handle the stairs well in the loft.  But the trek to the ATS is long as well.

Are you more of balcony person?  Because the balcony in the loft does not compare the the ATS balcony, even if you were in the smallest ATS, I would think there is more space than the loft balcony.

Anyone get an accepted bid for symphony sailing on July 27th? My 4 weak bids are still pending.

I'm on that sailing and I noticed that the sailing "sold out" a few weeks ago.  Meaning, it doesn't even show up anymore if you want to do a mock booking.  However, the same thing happened with our Anthem sailing last week and people were still getting bids accepted right up until the last minute.  You never know.  With Royal there is not much rhyme or reason lol.

  9. Hey Ken!  I did not even realize that you are on the message boards!  Thanks for reading the live blog ?

It was fantastic meeting everyone on the Group Cruise.  One of my favorite cruises so far...by far having 80+ other groupies to hang with was fun.

    Totally agree!

One funny moment was on day 2 or 3 I was eating dinner up there, and I get a notification on my phone of @Matt doing a live periscope, and I look around the small room, and two other tables were listening in.

One day @Michael Vitale, his wife, a few others, and I were in the Diamond Lounge watching @Matt do FB live.  Even when sailing with him, we tune in.  Totally devoted lol.
