Some companies are not even offering refunds at this time, but rather only FCC , so imagine their frustration.

Because they were just that: freebies. Unlike a cruise you paid for, these specific sailings were listed as available for no cost. That's not to say there wont be others in the future, but I don't think it's reasonable to expect a free sailing to be transferable. If it were the case, the casino would offer any sailing for free, instead of specific sailings.

I don't think they aren't being loyal at all. I think they are being realistic given the company is hemorrhaging money on a daily basis.
The freebies you got were given away in a vastly different economic situation, and I believe once cruising begins again, the casino will be more than open to welcoming you back with new offers. But I think expecting them to continue to mortgage their future to offer free cruises on sailings that may or may not happen right now is a reach. 

I will admit I am one of those people who tell the harsh truth in situations. I cannot understand blaming a company for being a company...especially in times like these. It is never about being a diehard fan but pointing out first world problems. That being said, I don't agree with not honoring Casino comps. I am not a gambler but if you have a program design to reward those who frequent the casino, it should be honored. If RCCI is willing to give refunds and 25% extra FCC for cancelled cruises, it should have at least extended a percentage of the casino certificates. Maybe work with that department to offer something in exchange. It takes a lot of time and money to earn those comps, they didn't expire.

I’m in no way looking for a freebie. I’m only asking that they allow me to use the base gates that I paid for for myself or other family members who are still willing to cruise, instead of “sticking to their rules” when those two fares were for two women over 70 who have been advised by their doctors that they will not clear them to ever cruise again.  No freebies here for anyone except RCCL

With the other carriers offering really sweet deals to get people back, I'm surprised RCCL is going the other way... 
Looked again and the main "re book" is now double of what I would have been able to book it for if I had my own money back!

I need a cruise!

Who's sailing for Turkey Day 2020?
Will be sailing (fingers, toes and anything else crossed for good luck) on the Indy B2B starting 11/19 (it's not my dream come true 3 Weeks on the Oasis that got cxl'd from COVID 19) . 
Scored the corner aft 1400 for both cruises.

We are also but are having second thoughts. The health aspects are certainly one major question but I dislike the thought of masking and distancing on what is supposed to be a vacation. I can't see myself enjoying the cruise under those circumstances, however necessary they might be, so why bother and waste the money? We have been cruising over Thanksgiving numerous times but we might have to miss it this year.

We are on the Oasis of the Seas for the 11/22 Thanksgiving Cruise. So hoping this will happen. We have been looking forward to this trip for quite awhile.

And not one penny from the 3/22 cruise.  Maybe Royal looks at this blog and know who are the most frustrated ones and says  " let not refund their money until the very last moment"  HAHA

I have never had any desire to contact an investigative reporter from a local news source, but the lack of respect from Royal has pushed many of us to think in different ways!  In my opinion, once this horrible virus is at bay, I wish the government will look into these companies who withheld refunds back to the consumers, including the airlines!  Something should be put into place and on record on how long they have to for refunds to be back into consumers accounts.
And you have every right to give an opinion on these statements, I really don't want to hear anymore excuses.  
At this point in time it has NOTHING to do about the money, as I have booked future cruises, it's more about the principle of the situation!

With so much negativity being directed at all travel companies for  how they are behaving during these unprecedented times, some of which is well deserved its only correct that when a company does things correctly its noted.
Jetblue changed the time of my flight from JFK to San Juan and it messed up my timings, now chances are cruise will be cancelled  and i would have had to cancel anyway, 
So i contacted them by chat on their App, no waiting or fuss just straight down to how they could assist.
Was offered a FULL cash refund or 125% in future credit that lasts 18months, i took the cash refund and was informed it would be in my bank within 10 to 14 working days.
4 days it took for full refund to appear in my bank.
Hats off to Jetblue a smaller airline showing the Big Boys how it should be done 

Thanks for that long explanation, however, all I was asking for was some type of indication where the verbiage has changed!

Just out of curiosity and not meant to be snarky at all.....if you did not gamble at all, could that money spent in the casino be used towards the cruises you want to take? I have no idea how much money people gamble with since I’m a “$20 in the slots once on a cruise” kind of girl. 

It was a blood draw, yes I can see your point good or bad.  I really thought I was asymptomatic.

If Royal sent me an email today (should have received a apology one for the refund debacle) saying I was picked to be a test passenger to experience how new procedures on board would be,  I would have my bags packed in 30 minutes and at the port in 25 minutes. 

I hope that's the case!!!!

Why do so many people here have a difficult time for Royal being exposed for doing something obviously wrong? 
It's clear these crew members feel marginalized. Royal has promised to send them back home and has not done so. Their feelings and concerns are valid and true; Royal is very, very wrong. Why attack the poster or the news source?
 
As a lover of Royal Caribbean, how can you not feel sympathetic for these crew members? Or, do we only appreciate them when they make us a towel animal or bring another drink?
 

You have to want to get them home, like calling Royal Caribbean to get an issue taken care of; you have to be persistent. Like a James Van Fleet weather forecast, you have to be honest and frank. Like James Van Fleet, daily briefings and frequent updates will go a long way. Van Fleet uses a bunch of social media to get his word out. In short, honest communication will go a long way with the stranded crew if Royal is in fact trying. Today, Royal Caribbean is not trying.
CDC mandates??? How about turning your negatives around into positives??? How about leadership and guidance??? This whole maritime platform is based on leadership, seniority, and wisdom; well.....I'm expecting brilliance out of highly paid people with stripes on their shoulders and corner offices in Miami and so far I'm not getting any.
If I was the zookeeper I would clean the floating petri dish to the point it was a germ free environment. I would test everyone aboard twice a day. I would implement platforms and activities so that those onboard do things. I would start with the easy stuff, how can we do the dances that are done during the sail away? How can these people go to the main theater and watch a movie or a performance? How can we let them on the pool deck and occupy a lounge chair for an hour? How can we feed them all together? It means changing behaviors, it means changing norms. 
Instead of saying we'll just let our boat and the staff linger on some ocean; I would create a space and protocols that make a cruise ship better and safer than being on land. Someone disembarking from one of my cruise ships would be welcome in any country, in any airplane, or at any hotel. The relative few staff that are onboard would be my guinea pig, a nice small sample size to work with to establish how life and activities on future sailings might be preformed for when we pack the boat with 5,000 passengers.
Imagine....people wanting to get on a cruise ship because it is a better, safer place than where they are at??? Whoa...
Doing so requires leadership. It means changing things and implementing practices that other companies and institutions will look at see are a successful path going forward. It means being a pinnacle.
