I had a similar issue with AAA. The agent we were to use retired and the one that took over was there for a few months and then left with medical issues. The next one we got was less than helpful. She cost me $175 in OBC while only saving $50 for the cruise fare when I only asked her to look not change.
I will be using MEI in the future.

The longer the better.  As long as you can get off the ship every so often.  Over the years we have met people who are on  the ship 6 months or longer at a time.  Last cruise this lady has been living on the ship for several years.  She stated it is cheaper than being in any type of retirement setting.  And on more than 1 cruise we have seen and met the 2 German fellas who are on board for 6 or more months at a time.  You can`t miss them as they dress up for dinner nightly in outlandish outfits.  Looking forward to doing the top and bottom back to back  out of Sydney.  A mere 30 days. Plus spending 5 days in Sydney.

My wife has 5 sisters all over the country and is traveling to see them constantly.  While I am "HOME ALONE".    Now that we are moving back to Florida I just might start doing solo cruises.  With several ports to choose from and last minute cabins it is a no brainer.  Then again she loves to cruise as well.  Just think I could start BOB`S BLOGS.   What a thought.

MEI is an excellent and only choice to make.  We were using AAA but our agent went to a different department and the agent we got is not that knowledgeable so this fall we are moving and will be switching to MEI.

We get the refreshment package for the water and soda  and fresh o.j. and the specialty coffee drinks at least twice a day.  We grab waters every time we get  something. And Powerade as well. It literally pays for itself in no time especially if it is purchased on sale.   You are correct that the deluxe is not worth it. We get cocktails and wine but nowhere near enough to come to the price of the deluxe package.

We keep them in our pocket and have not lost one in 20 plus years.  Wearing them around your neck in port makes you stand out as a tourist.  Rather not give that impression  out.

And the answers are.  Not Scottish.  Nothing underneath.  And no we did not look.  He stated that while eating.  Not the first formal night for us to see men in Kilts either.  Probably the 5th or 6th time.

I spent money pre and post cruise in Barcelona as well as every other stop when we cruised the Med, it just doesn't seem they measure the euro spend, just visitors.

Central Park does get very hot and humid.  Lots of mold spores to make one with allergies miserable.    Boardwalk or on the very back of the ship especially is our favorite area to be .

I have stayed in the Boardwalk balcony rooms before and really like them.  I have never stayed in the Central Park balconies but I have heard that it can get very hot in that area since it is not as open and breezy as it is in the Boardwalk area.  I do agree that the Central Park rooms would be quieter (except for the noise that I have heard about from the pools).

Call back and ask for a supervisor.  Most of the reps work from home and want to get to the next call and will tell you whatever comes to mind.  Trying to get facts and answers at times is beyond ridiculous.   Thank goodness for travel agents. That is who i would call.

We recently took two teenage grandkids on the LOS. I set the rule they could not wear shorts in the dining room- jeans, long  pants, nice shirt or top ok. To my surprise my 16 year old grandson remarked “ I feel underdressed; I should have brought another shirt.”
The second formal night he was scrounging around in his closet looking for something clean to wear since he had spilled gravy on his nice shirt. Jokingly I offered my white button up blouse. He took me up on it, rolled up the sleeves and the photo is attached.
I believe it is a good lesson to teach young people how to dress for certain occasions.
