You are not paying for an item that has a flat rate that always costs x dollars. None of the packages really work like that. It fluctuates based on how far ahead your cruise is, how many people have purchased the package and other factors. So no one can give you it costs x dollars for your ship and sailing exactly. The biggest thing is to buy it at a price you think you can afford and wait to see if it comes down and cancel and rebook. I've seen it fluctuate from $55 (pre covid)  per person per day to like $75 (post covid)   per person per day and then varying prices in between those. Maybe for budgeting go as high as you're comfortable paying for  and then watch the cruise planner.
Personally, I think it's not a "this will save you money" purchase its more of a purchase of convenience. I just wanna budget and pay x dollars ahead to avoid playing drink calculator later. If you really math it out it's cheaper to just budget a drink budget on your own but I don't wanna do math on vacation and I'm able to spend that because I'm not cruising with kids.

Fox Forlenza reacted to twangster in UDP Pricing Question - Ovation of the Seas
The discount off figure is based on booking each of the specialty dining at their onboard rates.  However the venues have different prices.  Each of us with the UDP will end up using a different combination of venues.
If I ate only in the same most expensive restaurant for all nights of the cruise I can reach 55% off.
If I ate only in the least expensive especially venue for all nights of the cruise I wouldn't reach 55% off.
Somewhere in between the two extremes is where most people will land with the UDP based on their selection of restaurants for their cruise.  Consequently we see the "up to" verbiage.

These answers made me wonder how many points our son has independent of us.  He’s only 10 so can’t have his own online account to look it up.  I just did some calculating of his cruises.  After our Symphony family cruise from 2/12-19, my spouse and I will have 178 points (my spouse would be at 158 without me since my son and I took 2 cruises when he couldn’t in 2019) ……. And our son will independently have 145 points!  I guess that’s not bad for a kid who’s first cruise was for his 7th birthday in November 2018!

@ChrisK2793 Back to your original question, I think the "correct" answer is that the children should connected to the parent that has primary physical custody which I think in most all cases would be where they officially live for purposes of public schooling.  However, since I don't believe Royal asks for proof of residency for children, connecting them to the parent with the higher points/status is unlikely to be questioned unless they keep updating it.
I think this situation could also easily lead to the children actually having more points/status than the parents if they travel separately with both parents.

Just keep in mind that whether you cash out or get the FCC, the “new” cruise will not be price protected….so if the new cruise is more expensive than the “old” cruise, you will have additional expense. Of course, in the rare situation where the new cruise is less $$ then you will have a savings !

It's a really nice thing to have on board, although I find the meeting times inconvenient.  But when I need a meeting it's there.  You can also meet others who you can reach out to on board if the meeting time isn't available and you need someone to talk to.  We so enjoyed the last cruise I didn't go to a meeting, but there were times I was happy it was so large and we could leave the situation.
I am a bartender as well as in recovery, so I thought I would be ok on board the ship.  With our upcoming May cruise, it's 8 nights, so we shall see how that goes.

This is because you are buying 2 separate drink packages. If you bought the first and get 2nd 50% off, then bought to Voom separate, you would be much cheaper.

Fox Forlenza reacted to Reigert2008 in Rant on Deluxe Beverage Package
I agree with @twangster on this.  The price is set by what people will pay.  I also think there are ways to bring down the "total cost" of the trip to help offset the pricing of individual items.  I think many times, people look at the price of individual components in a vacuum and lose sight of the total cost.  We once had some family that freaked out about the cost of the cruise in Florida and we compromised on a cruise from New Jersey, but then the flights to New York were at least double what we would pay to Florida, losing the savings on the cruise and getting worse port stops.

For us, we "require" the Refreshment package.  We have a price point that we "like to get" at $23 per day, and anything less is amazing (we recently got it for $17!)  To ensure we can get the package, we always book the cheapest room we can, regardless of category (generally it's Inside GTY).  We also typically don't do excursions and explore on our own (harder during these times).

At the end of the day it's all about choice and what you can live without on the cruise.  I also think that too many people want to "break even" on each thing. We both get the Refreshment package and I certainly break even (i drink a ton of coffee 🙂 ), but maybe not her since she could probably do with just the soda package and then pay for bottled water, but we like the convenience of prepaying for it and then not having a bill at the end.
    Happy cruising!

NEW SOUTHERN RESTAURANT AND BAR HEADLINES ROYAL CARIBBEAN’S CULINARY LINEUP ON WONDER OF THE SEAS
The Mason Jar Joins 20-plus Dining Experiences for the New Ship’s Debut in March 2022 MIAMI, Jan. 19, 2022 – Royal Caribbean International takes adventure tableside aboard the world’s newest wonder, Wonder of the Seas, unveiling a lineup of more than 20 dining venues headlined by the debut of The Mason Jar Southern Restaurant & Bar. On board the highly anticipated ship that sets sail in March 2022, families and travelers alike also have in store an unmatched variety of flavors that range from Italian classics at Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar to American sports bar favorites at Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, to New England-inspired dishes at Hooked Seafood.
Where southern comfort food meets Royal Caribbean’s hospitality, The Mason Jar invites guests to share a meal, drinks and memories in a warm, casual setting. Every detail serves up southern charm in the new specialty restaurant, and setting the scene is farmhouse-style and rustic decor, live country music, even a cozy porch decked out with a swing for lounging and a great photo op, and a dedicated bar at the center of it all.
On the menu are southern staples and new twists on classics the whole family can enjoy for brunch, dinner and late-night bites, beginning with freshly baked buttermilk biscuits and jalapeno cornbread. Brunch favorites range from savory johnnycakes topped with barbeque pulled pork to the Sweet-Tooth Cinnamon Roll. At suppertime, highlights include fried green tomatoes, authentic southern fried chicken, crab beignets served with lump crab dip, and shrimp and grits. And for a sweet ending, there’s everything from traditional pies to spiked floats and shakes. Plus, keeping the good times rolling is a robust collection of more than a dozen American whiskeys and a lineup of southern libations, such as the classic mint julep dusted tableside with powdered sugar and the Mississippi Moonlight – made with blackberry moonshine, blackberries and lemonade, and served in a chilled mason jar. Whether at a table for family dinner or at the bar for a bite, a nightcap and live music, The Mason Jar will be a hotspot day and night.
The Mason Jar is just the beginning, with Wonder serving up a variety of restaurants, bars and lounges to choose from across eight signature neighborhoods. From Central Park to the all-new Suite Neighborhood – an Oasis Class first – more dining highlights on the upcoming ship include:
The Vue – The happiest of happy hours can be found at this new cantilevered bar. The Vue offers panoramic ocean views by day, and after sunset, it shines bright with a colorful mosaic canopy overhead. Giovanni's Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar – It’s a family-style affair every day at Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, the first on an Oasis Class ship. On the menu are freshly made, authentic staples, from hand-tossed pizzas to charcuterie boards and veal meatballs, to an extensive wine list, wine flights and cocktails, like an Aperol Spritz and Negroni. Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade – This popular venue brings guests of all ages together to catch the big game across dozens of big-screen TVs, battle it out in friendly competition at the arcade, and munch on bar fare and ice-cold draft beers. El Loco Fresh and Cantina Fresca – The grab-and-go spot for Mexican delights, like made-to-order tacos, burritos and quesadillas, now debuts a dedicated bar called Cantina Fresca that serves a selection of “aguas frescas,” margaritas and other Mexican staples. The Lime & Coconut – This signature pool deck experience is at the center of the Caribbean vibes, with multiple poolside bars and live music. Vacationers can also enjoy more options, such as Wonderland, Asian-inspired flavors at Izumi, American steakhouse Chops Grille, American seasonal dishes at 150 Central Park, Johnny Rockets, Starbucks, Sugar Beach, and more. Whatever the mood on any given day, Wonder introduces a culinary lineup that caters to guests and their varying palates. Throughout the ship, travelers can also complement their meal with a unique set of Caribbean-inspired drinks, bold and spirited classics, and even zero-proof cocktails as part of Royal Caribbean’s reimagined beverage menus.
Setting sail for the first time in March 2022, Wonder will call three marquee destinations home during its inaugural year: Fort Lauderdale, Florida (March-April); Barcelona, Spain, and Rome (April-October); and Port Canaveral, Florida (year-round, starting November). The new ship’s combination of firsts and favorites will bring to life adventures across thrills, dining, entertainment, technology and more as travelers sail to locales in the eastern and western Caribbean, including Royal Caribbean’s private island destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas; and Cozumel, Mexico. In Europe, vacationers can head to the western Mediterranean and visit must-see places, such as Naples and Florence, Italy; Palma de Mallorca, Spain; and Provence, France.

I luckily have never had to deal with any type of addiction, nor has anyone close to me. But it seems it's a great program. You hear of people going to meetings for years and years almost every day even after their addictions subside because it helps them so much. And because it's totally 'anonymous', people can't talk about the other people they see.
In Elton John's book, he talks about how obsessed he became with going to meetings everywhere he went and how many random people over the years were probably stunned to see Elton John in their AA meeting. Elton is also Eminem's sponsor, which I always thought was a fun fact.
