Apparently it was a thing at my mother in law’s.  “Grandma doesn’t COOK the peas???”

Not so much the frozen ones but I love to eat fresh-shelled [uncooked] peas from the field !

Was going to chime in and say there may also be adult offerings you child might like.  Picky means different things to different kids.  My picky daughter (37 now) was a legume eater.  Forget nuggets, pizza, hamburgers.  Bring on the three bean salad!  Also, weirdly, frozen uncooked peas. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

An additional point to add to this, on my most recent cruise the dining staff was not only open to letting my kids try new things on the adult menu, they actively encouraged it.  They were sure to linger/check-in fairly early when they knew one of them was exploring a new food and quick to offer a replacement in case they didn't like it.  Despite what was surely more work for them, they really seemed to enjoy seeing them taking chances.  Either that, or they were Hollywood-level actors! 😉

Having different levels of accommodations is pretty common in the travel industry.  Planes and trains have first class for example which can be purchased at a higher cost and come with better accommodations and perks.  Hotels have larger rooms with better amenities.  Theme parks get in the game with premium ticket options that include more perks and better access.
Having different levels across the product portfolio is pretty common in any business.  Premium products come with a higher price and offer better amenities for those that desire them.
Loyalty programs are great and encourage return business.  Loyalty programs have no bearing on premium products and vice versa.  The two are mutually exclusive but there can be overlap to some degree.
As a Pinnacle member in the Crown and Anchor Society I do enjoy a range of perks that reward me for my loyalty.  The benefits of being Pinnacle include some of the same perks that suite guests pay for.  I appreciate that Royal does give me these perks at no additional cost as a reward for my loyalty.
I don't view it that suites are able to buy the perks I have earned in the loyalty program.  It's the opposite really.  Some of these perks exist because of the suites product.   As a loyalty member Royal gives me some of the same perks that suite guests have to pay for and I think that is great.

I like my Diamond perks and do not begrudge Suite guests at all. I have gone from Gold to Diamond in 6 months or so. I got Signature pretty quick also. The policies are very clear and fair. 16 cruises since October 2021 and happy as can be.
P.S. Sitting in a free Sea Class Suite, in St. Thomas, at this moment.

Windjammer is a buffet.  You won't find a specific kids menu for it, but they definitely have kid friendly items on the buffet.

It can be anytime from far in advance to the day of your sailing. It will just appear.
That said, there is something called the "bar code trick" that often allows you to find out your cabin before it is officially assigned. Once you check-in, you can add your set sail pass from the app to your Apple wallet (if an Apple user) and numbers will appear under the bar code. The numbers to the right of the dash are your cabin. If an Android user, simply scan the bar code to see those numbers. Occasionally you will still see "GTY" instead of the cabin number and then you just have to wait.
Once officially assigned (i.e. your cabin actually appears on your documents), you can request to be moved to any available cabin in the same exact category at no charge.  *NOTE: This applies to US citizens. I believe i have read that you cannot move when booking from the UK. Not sure about other countries.
    Hope this helps.

I've sailed vision and rhapsody. Grandeur next week. They are slightly different size but same layout.  I really couldn't tell the difference between them.

When I inquired a few years ago I was told I could bring 4 bottles of wine in carry on for a B2B.  I was told that security may take two of the bottles and they will be brought to my room at the start of the second cruise.  In practice I put two bottles in my backpack and two bottles in my carry on roller bag.  Because they were separated going through xray security didn't connect them all to me so I was able to keep all 4 bottles.
Stopping by the ship's duty free store on the last day of the 1st cruise has often resulted in a bottle being allowed to be taken back to your cabin.

Hi Wineojim.... First of all, read this great page if you haven't already... https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2021/12/17/back-back-cruises-tips-and-advice
Congrats on your first B2B. I did my first one January 2022 on Explorer out of San Juan. You should check in with guest services during your first cruise and tell them you are a back to back cruiser. Also, tell your stateroom attendant during the first cruise that you are doing a B2B.  They will help coordinate the details. You will get a letter in your stateroom telling you where to go during turn around. If you are keeping your stateroom, that is great because you won't have to pack all of your belongings and move. If you are moving staterooms for the second cruise, your stateroom attendant will transfer your stuff to your new room during turnaround. In my case, and this may not be the same for you, but they had all back to back cruisers report to the Star Lounge. There, we sat around and enjoyed coffee and a few pastries while everyone else got off the ship. They came around and took our old Sea Pass cards, replaced them with new ones and took our pictures again. (I heard you could request your old card from guest services during the second cruise, as a keepsake of sorts.) There were two customs and border patrol officers who came on the ship and we did our passport checks with them one at a time. In my case, I did not have to get off the ship, but I have heard that sometimes you do have to get off the ship and wait in the terminal until they start boarding again (in which case you are the first to reboard.) I was not able to go to my new room until everyone else, which was after lunch. I tried to do the safety briefing again and was told that I did not have to do it a second time; however, I would suggest checking in with your muster station anyway just to be safe. Your seapass account will get charged to your credit card after each cruise ends. As soon as they released us out of Star Lounge, then we were free to roam the ship. I remember it was quiet for a few minutes before everyone else boarded.
It's important to realize that your results may vary and follow the directions given to you during your cruise. Happy sailing!

Audrey V. reacted to Matt in Covid testing money grab!
    Welcome to the message boards.
Not sure "money grab" is the right term. The cruise lines aren't making any money on it since it's up to you to get a test from whatever place you can.
That being said, yes, it's a hassle.
You have to remember, the cruise lines are held to a double standard by the media, which still reports on covid cases on them like its 2020.
The good news is testing is on its way out, but it's going to be a process, especially since the countries cruise lines visit may require the test. This puts it out of the cruise line's hands.

You can always visit Windjammer if you want a little more dessert (or other food). I always seem to want more veggies. No judging when on a cruise!
Another tip: You can ask your waiter at MDR for food  to take back to your room for later, and put it in your mini-fridge.  Thinking a dessert or fruit and cheese to go with your wine in your room.
Each room may bring up to 2 bottles of wine (750 ml each on the cruise). Your steward can bring you a corkscrew  and 2 glasses, and the Steward will replace the glasses with clean glasses after use.
Finally, in the UK I bought a  USB port to charge my phone. This will come in handy because I can use more plugs in the room, with US and UK outlets.

Well, it's still a machine, rather than a barista, but they're tasty and way better than the regular drip coffee around the ship. Also free, so there's that 😉

Based on the blog article by Marcy Miyar, my take away is that is easy to get to Pinnacle if you have the time, the $$$ AND the motivation.  We don't have enough of any of those things.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens since we booked in January 2020 for an August 2021 sailing, then L&S to and August 2022 sailing….then we decided to upgrade our cabin from Inside to Balcony in December 2021.
Double points really doesn’t matter.  One way or the other we’ll eventually have 80 points.  It’s the cruising we focus on

I believe you should call back and ask again.  Not every employee is up on their stuff.  If you don’t get the correct answer consider asking for a supervisor.
