I checked in for my October cruise this morning. Curious what the “wellness check” at the terminal entails. Of course what’s in place now could change in 3 months. The check in process didn’t even ask if vaccinated or not.

My cruise on Symphony in October removed Labadee from the itinerary

Freedom of the Seas in 2010 for our honeymoon. To this day, it’s still our favorite vacation ever taken.

Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Miami Brickell Downtown. Highly recommend! See TripAdvisor reviews.
This is where we will be staying for the first time the night before our upcoming cruise. Chose it based on TripAdvisor reviews. Excited!

Check out the Secret Sands Getaway in the cruise planner. We have done this one on four different cruises. Great beach, clean bathroom/changing facility and great water. There's even a nice little reef about 50' off shore that is about 8' deep and is great for snorkeling. All kinds of tropical fish and some small green sea turtles. Very easy swim to and from the beach. There was a young man who had lounge chairs set up on the beach in the shade and sun, offered cold drinks and snacks as well as snorkel gear. All he asked for was a nice tip before we left. His name was Kareem, not sure if he is still there. Still a great place even if he is no in business there anymore. I find this excursion a hell of a lot more enjoyable than Megan's Bay.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll look this up in the cruise planner.

For those that have been, what excursions do you recommend? Anything we should avoid?

I am sailing on Freedom of the sees. From the videos I have watched it is almost night and day vs the Carnival ships I have been on.
My 1st cruise ever which was 11 yrs ago now was on Freedom of the Seas. We loved it soooo much. It’s been revamped since then but it got us hooked on only sailing with RC.

Angers me to see news like this since media jumps all over it. The entire country has basically opened up. positive cases don’t get singled out elsewhere that the media jumps all over. Vegas for example. People in close proximity all over the place.

Also Brian Leavitt announced today on Instagram he will be the cruise director on Symphony of the Seas… officially!

That is awesome! Thanks for sharing the pics. I’d love to sail on her someday!

Feeling even more hopeful for my sailing on Symphony in October! As long as the test cruise goes well and CDC approves revenue sailing soon after.

my magic 8 ball says all of this will be mute soon, as the CDC is constantly now revising their orders.
the 8 ball says after a small number of cruise ships have test cruises and the 98/95 vaccination rate Alaska cruises go off without incident, the CDC will rescind the NSO for that particular cruise line. There may be some new documentation of continuation to collect data, but sailing will start in mass.
My magic 8 ball has be correct before.
I like your magic 8 ball

I also have October cruise coming up. Like you, I tend to plan everything early. It was killing me not booking flights so I went ahead and booked it last month when I noticed prices increasing. Also, with my situation - utilized flight credit from 2020 cancelled cruise. Fingers crossed all goes well!

I’m supposed to be on her in October, 4th time trying!
Maybe she’s getting her Covid upgrades? Ventilation etc.
Same here. Hoping to be cruising on her in October. Randomly checked yesterday and saw it headed away from the US and had a mini panic attack lol. Sounds like they are getting it good and ready for us to sail

I’m booked for October on this ship which is a L&S from October 2020. I truly hope it’s a go! Don’t want to have to L&S yet another year

My lift and shift experience went well. I called RC and told the date/ship. Specified what deck and part of the ship we wanted. Our current cabin was not available. He kept suggesting certain cabins on different decks and not anywhere near where I wanted. After many no’s he magically came across an available cabin in a great location very close to our original. Snagged that one up!

Skipping San Juan

Same goes for my cruise in October. Skipping both those locations now. Curious about the reason for San Juan as well.
