Well technically they aren't required anymore, but RC is still following the CSO (which is probably wise since you never know how vindictive the CDC will be, especially since they just violated a SCOTUS ruling with their eviction moratorium extension)

That is not a terrible price for the UDP on SY.  I think the best price I have seen for SY is $179PP so it's not that much of a difference.
The pros of the UDP is that you can eat at any specialty restaurant at any time and have as much food as you want (exception is for those restaurants that are a la carte - not unlimited for those) as long as the restaurant can accommodate you.  This includes lunch and dinner.  As a general rule, specialty restaurants are only open for lunch on sea days and limited availability on embarkation day.  Upcharge items are not included in the UDP (seafood tower and whole Maine lobster at Chops, for example).  You can also visit more than 1 restaurant for a meal...for example, you can eat your dinner at Chops and then mosey over to Wonderland and get your dessert.  Again...this is based on availability.
The con....it is a LOT of food.  We have discovered, after many experiences, that we simply cannot eat 3 big meals a day.  Something has to give....so we generally will either skip breakfast or have a very light breakfast early and then try for an early lunch and late dinner.  It is human nature to try and "get your money's worth" so you try and maximize your specialty meals and it is sometimes just too much.  After a few days of this it seems like all we DO is eat...just waddle from one meal to the next !

The only thing that I was able to save on was a DBP+1 Voom for my 19 August 2022 Jewel British Isles cruise out of Amsterdam.  It had been $76 PP/PD for EVER and it dropped to $66 PP/PD yesterday.  Since there is no grat added for European sailings, there was no additional cost so I bought it quickly before they changed their minds !! I had already purchased the UDP but that price didn't change so no savings there.  ?
All of the other prices were more than what I had already paid.

66 Days Go to ..... Crossing my fringes 

Just received the dreaded ‘We’re sharing a change for your upcoming cruise’ email. Fortunately, it’s not a cancellation or itinerary change. For my cruises on the Oasis from Port Liberty in Sept and Oct…due to CDC guidance they have implemented new boarding protocols and will need additional time for check in. So instead of leaving at 4pm, departure will be at 6pm. Completely understandable and now, at least, I feel confident that these cruises will proceed.
However, check in is still not available. Waiting patiently (yeah, right!)

Maybe my attitude is wrong but.......
This new sweepstakes just feels wrong to me. It makes me feel like I have been moved to the back of the line again after patiently waiting my turn in the original random drawing for test cruises.
I should have known this was just a way to get my marketing information like the "free vacation" at the time share resort.

A thread on CC says that 10 people on a Carnival Horizon facebook group have tested positive since returning home.  Carnival confirms there is a "small number" of cases on the Vista.

Cruise Director Marc on the Allure posted this in FB:  "Confirmed for next week: MammaMia, Ice Games, Oceanaria Aqua Show, Headliner Tony Tillman, Headliner Ventriloquist Kevin Johnson, and Comedians Phil Palisoul and JR McCollom. Not sure how we got it all ready, but we did! Great team here and we can’t wait to entertain you"   ?
 

Not going to lie... disappointed in how Royal moved my Radiance cruise to Serenade.
I had 9256 on Radiance, the corner aft through the Panama Canal.  Royal moved me to 9234 on the side of the ship which is a connecting balcony cabin on Serenade.  WTF?
They aren't even moving people to the same cabin on Serenade.
Serenade was not going through the canal on this date.  They swapped in her in for Radiance so no one should have had an existing booking on Serenade.
I cancelled for a refund.  
 

My condolences to your family and you. 
I've no doubt your mother would love for all of you to celebrate her life by going on this cruise if it is the best thing for you to do.

Well, I can't say that I don't understand.  I have been there myself.  Sit back and give it some time.  If you still feel the same way (and I would not blame you !  Nobody likes being censored) then continue with your withdrawal.  This is the way I look at it :  I am a more effective advocate for my position and beliefs when I keep up the fight than I am if I give up or give in.  My goal (and I'm sure yours, as well) is not to offend or incite, but to advocate.  I'm no help to anyone if I just give up or let bullies run me off. I'm also just playing into their hands if I let them bait me into a pointless battle of words.  Nobody wins then.
This blog is about cruising, not about vaccinations or about whether COVID is real or a hoax.  There are plenty of other places to fight those battles. I am trying very hard to stick to the things that really matter here - primarily, trying to maximize the joys of cruising.  Truthfully, I'm not sure how much longer cruising is even going to survive.  I have my serious doubts...but I will try and help, not harm.

Adding my sympathies.  We lost my dear father-in-law in January.  Miss him very much.  Glad you are going on the cruise. I’m sure that would have been her wish.

That’s what I thought I saw, a visit to the thermal spa just couldn’t remember what it was called.  Also can’t remember where I saw it (sucks getting old, well except for having more time & money to cruise!). This is why I ask here, you guys always know!!

Rebooked cruise on Ovation ....one day later and same owners suite...... wait for it.....priced at AUD3001 dollars more than the original, admittedly the earlier cruise was a lift and shift X 2 times from 2 previous cancellations so it progressively increased in price over time but as I feel I will have one foot in the grave if I have to put it off for another year with another lift and shit I bit the bullet with the FCC, in the long run it will cost an extra $2175.......a shame as I had already final paid it...it goes to prove my husband is right..I am addicted....oops I meant lift and shift ..or did I?

I did one of those cruises on RC -boarding in Italy-and the night before Barcelona I stopped to buy a souvenir drink/glass -the sale was in the lobby-and the bartender asked if it was my last night and he thought I said yes and wished me well.  Turns out, unbeknownst to me,  he wrote himself a nice tip on the drink receipt.  I caught it the next day and reported it.  I always tip cash, and if I get a receipt I write CASH where the tip goes.  He never gave me a receipt!

CBP after a cruise has never been more than a "yep, that's you on the photo, nothing to declare? OK cool bye" anyway.

Now I see them, multiple dates 7 night Perfect Day Bahamas Sept/Oct, but I swear it wasn't there this morning when I checked. More ☕ maybe?
