Should we lift and shit ....
I think that is the yet-to-be-announced option in the highly unlikely case of bankruptcy

Could be database. I can see the front end on mobile and desktop as well as static pages . Signing in, looking up a booking and the app all give errors

My only concern with waiting until cruising begins again is that I fear prices on things like dining and drinks packages will shoot up once cruising resumes. There have been some incredibly good deals on drinks packages recently so I went ahead and bought when they were low. I fear they will jump once cruising starts again.
I've followed the same approach. My remaining concern is that I have some in the "uncertainty" zone currently that might be Lifted and Shifted or rebooked if cruising doesn't resume on time ... and I really lament losing a good deal

.I think it is both an optics issue and a flex of power.
I agree ... and the cruise lines are their last whipping boy ... and they aren't about to give that up. Everyone else has stood up to them, and like all bullies, they ran and hid. I hope the cruise line exec's have that leverage to bring to bear on them to.end this insanity.

I have seen similar pricing differences seemingly based on dates and itinerary. I also believe that supply and demand plays a role also. I have seen true bargains on a particular class of suite only have prices almost double for the same sailing as inventory drops.

I agree. The President said no such thing, but the media seems to be spinning things when lives are hanging in the balance over COVID-19. That is what bothers me. We need good information now more than ever, and I feel like it is abysmally horrible.
Back in 70s and 80s, it was popular for commedians to joke about Soviet Bloc media .... mainly because it was true and low hanging fruit for joke writers. Our media today would be a laughing stock when compared to vintage Pravda!
AND since I clearly was just guilty of a deviation from theme...
... remember when we used to talk about cruises on this board?

Same experience for me with the app. Kept getting notifications of upcoming reservations just to remind me of the fun I was missing.

I have not seen an official statement. There has been discussion here that they were not supposed to be awarded. I had a 3/15 sailing also that was cancelled. I received the points after the cancelled sailing would have concluded. The points were removed a couple weeks later, all without explanation.

I always find The Onion to be very entertaining... sometimes even funny. Really, “wear a mask during sex” ... I’m more partial to the traditional brown bag. COVID-19 role playing?
The part I laughed the most about was the lengthy description of a related topic involving creative barriers and access that have been expressed with two words that might not have made it past the censors.

I agree with @Jill, reliability is suspect. have the sense that the facebook posting in question is the social media equivalent of candid camera ... or for those looking for a more modern reference: punked or impractical jokers.

Just had a thought. If masks are required onboard does that mean we can all temporarily agree that shorts in the MDR are fair game. If we’re all going to look ridiculous we might as well suspend any dress code.
And would we need new passport photos so facial recognition will work?
New checkin photos for scanning our seapass cards?
Will Seaface masks be invisible to the cameras?
So many questions ... so little logic ...

I realise I may be opening myself up to a whole world of hurt here, not least as I am looking in from across the pond and do my best to follow any form of politics from a safe distance, but whilst this is of course extremely encouraging news, given Mr Trump's opinion of the WHO right now is it likely to have any meaningful impact upon the US approach?
That is a very good question. Here in the US, the response to this is generally divided along party lines. While he currently has little regard for the WHO, the President and those from his party are all for ending the restrictions and getting back to normal. The opposition party is extending restrictions and adding restrictions. The approach varies State to State depending on which side that State's Governor Aligns. What could prove interesting to watch is how the left and media respond. When the President was against the WHO, they were all for the WHO. Now the WHO is contradicting their narrative, what will be the next claim? Politics at its worst.

WHO is saying asymptomatic people spreading is "rare". Now I don't know how they came to that conclusion, how did they figure this out, what kind of tests did they do to find this out is my questions?
I looked into it as well. The explanation I found is that through thorough contact tracing they found that all of the infections were traced to contact with symptomatic persons. I have seen the term rare used also, but it was described more as not impossible.
A link from another thread. Thank you @Traveler
And for the best news , WHO expert claiming the asymptomatic C19 patients are not likely to infect others - https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2020/06/08/asymptomatic-coronavirus-patients-arent-spreading-new-infections-who-says.html

Wasn’t everyone being on top of each other the problem in the Ozarks a couple of weeks ago?
The media wanted us to believe that, but the statistics from the last week with concerns about Memorial day weekend as well as the large crowds protesting nationwide have shown the cases falling steadily. Couple that with the newest data from the WHO telling us that Asymptomatic people dont spread the virus and this plan we are commenting on makes even less sense.

Trip Ticks ! That's what they were called
Yes! Trip Ticks! I recall that now. I think the last of those I saw was around 1997... crossing over with printing the directions from Mapquest and before Navigation systems were common.

Anyone remember the old AAA flip maps ? There was a name for them but I cannot recall at the moment. We used to order those and we were always so excited when they would arrive in the MAIL before a long trip.
Yes I remember those. An early example of turn by turn directions in many ways. If I recall, they would come pre highlighted.

I wonder if there be different compliance models when in a US port and in international waters. E-muster for example. Muster drills take place prior to departure and a plan to keep people apart may appease those scrutinizing. Casino is open only in international waters, so potentially different rules.
