I get no better service from Club Royale than I do from any other Royal desk.  It's a drag.  If I'm booking, they serve me right away.  if there's a problem or something needs changed, they completely ignore me.

But it must work for 'em.  I keep coming back.🥰

Not a chance. This OP is obsessed with the attention positive or negative. They will resurface with a different screen name and more random and controversial posts.

Poolside reacted to Censored in Time to stop Unlimted Drink Plan?
Seems its a common occurrence to experience intoxicated cruisers aboard .   They can become loud, obnoxious, annoying, angry, and get involved in fights.  Personally I think this is due to the offering of the Unlimited Drink Plan.  People simply want to take liberties and drink as much as they possibly can. Then come the consequences .   Time to stop this plan or change it?

totally agree! 3 cruises in 2022 (Indy x 2) and Mariner and the food was not good in the Windjammer and MDR. On mariner my niece ordered Mac n Cheese on the kids menu and was served noodles with a half melted piece of kraft singles on top. Royal has taken a turn for the worse coming out of the pandemic.

I didn't mean in an aggressive manner, but that's their job to assist in these situations. They should have been able to show them where their correct cabin is located. Heck, now that I think of it, ask to see their set sail pass and take them yourself LOL. I've witnessed security help some very drunk individuals back to their cabins, this should have been easy 🙂.
I don't think Guest Services handled the situation correctly, in my opinion, from what I've read. I understand the initial GS person (Alina?) tried to help and ask around, including her manager, all who basically shrugged shoulders. I put the "fault" on those she was asking for help and the "eh, just let them have your room, take this one" attitude / solution. It just doesn't sit right with me. As you've said, you knew where they were and at the very least, you know where they'll be coming back to, solution seems obvious to me.
I do agree with you, honest mistake on their part. Anthem is a big ship and some hallways can cause you to lose your bearings, especially on day one. I'm glad the new room is comparable and you're happy. That's what's most important, the rest is just a bunch of strangers on the internet (like me 😀) Monday morning quarterbacking what we'd do in your shoes.
Enjoy the rest of your cruise and the evening! It's Friday night and you're on a cruise!

Wow.  Just wow.  First the people who were in my room would be getting out.  After the one experience of waiting for a guarantee room...I only book rooms I've selected.  After they got them out, the steward would have to clean everything, because there is no way to know if they sat on the beds, used the bathroom, etc...  I would make sure that your unsatisfactory experience at guest services gets noted on your survey.  I find it unsettling that they entered your room with your card.  You know....the card you may have a payment attached to.  The housekeeping supervisor should have been alerted to fix the problem, instead of having it be "your" problem.  They probably ate your C&A cookies that they weren't suppose to get.  What a hot mess!

Poolside reacted to Adriana in Forced to get off in Miami
Unfortunately, I am currently sitting waiting to be let back on the ship. We were given contradicting info. We knew we had to get off, but also told that we could get right back on after we cleared. They scheduled it in increments and the last were for those who would not be going to Miami. If you wanted to go to Miami later, go at your designated time. Everyone had to clear. Well, I did as I was told, was one of the first people off per my time and then told we all had to wait until every single person was cleared. I got up thinking I could get through and come back, have breakfast then maybe head to Miami. So many are sitting pretty upset because they were also told that yes, they would be let back in right after they cleared. I have been here for like two hours. We all know that people linger and last call is not until 10-10:30 and for that section, they say it can take time, so bring meds, a book, whatever because they cannot get back on until all are cleared. I cannot head to Miami as I am not ready or have what I need. At this point, I am not even going.
If you are doing this itinerary, you will indeed have to get up and leave the ship. If you are heading into town, be ready to leave at that time, otherwise you are going to wait until every single person is off and cleared. It is pretty full in here, so I can imagine getting back on is going to take time as well.
This cruise has been issue after issue, right from arrival, parking and finding a family in my cabin. First day was literally spent at Guest Relations until 8:45pm, so a little grumpy. I am sure some are fine with the hours wait and using it productively.

First off "Top Dollar" is something for each individual to determine. NOT YOU!!! Second there is a massive difference between planned and unplanned. And that does matter. Don't be so dam cheap and greedy that you don't pull a ship out of service for a week each year to do these things. Instead of when full with passengers. Oh but we owe billions. We will loose money dry dock a week a year. Well as you said "Ship happens". That goes both ways.

On my last sailing on Odyssey while I was sitting around the pool I ordered a drink and when the server brought it, I gave him a $2 bill as a tip.  He looked at it and told me it was "funny money" and gave it back to me.  I tried to tell him it was real but he insisted it was not.  Anyway, it was no tip for him.  Has anyone else ran into this problem?

    More Internet Issues
I will be so glad when all the RCL Ships are upgraded to SpaceX Starlink.  I was going to update and finish my blog on my flight home but there were so many issues I did not feel like messing with it.  For some reason setting in an airport for 6 hours two different times make you want to do nothing.
    Flight Home
I walked off the ship with my bags and figured out it would take me 1 hour to get off the ship and through customs.  Then I figured it would take me 1 hour to get to the airport.  My flight was at 11:50 am so I needed to be at the airport by 10:00 am.  With those calculations I had to be out of my cabin no later than 8:00 am.  Well.... I left the cabin at 7:00 am because I was awake.  I went to the cafe and ask if I could get a egg and bacon muffin without the muffin.  They brought me the most beautiful over medium eggs with 3 slices of bacon.  Best breakfast I had in 3 weeks.  I was heading off the ship by 7:15 am.  I did not stop much on the way out.  Customs took about 45 seconds.  I was in my Uber by 7:30 am.  There was no traffic and I was at the airport by 7:50 am.  So... I got to set 4 hours for my flight.
My flight from Boston to Phoenix was uneventful except for the fact the person in a full plane did not show up.  We got to spread out and watch movies.  When we landed in Phoenix I found out my 3 hour layover was delayed by 2 hours because there was not flight staff.   Then the plane coming in for us was delayed and my 5:45 pm flight soon became a 8:20 pm flight.  Not fun waiting almost 6 hours for your connection.
I did eventually get to Fresno by 10:00 pm.  I was setting outside the Fresno Air Terminal (FAT)  when my son pulled up with our two dogs in the car.  Those two dogs made me feel loved.  They were running in circles in the car and barking up a storm.  Once I got in the car they were not sure if they should continue to run in circles or jump on my lap.  It is true, Man's Best Friend....

I'll be the dissenting opinion as a WJ enthusiast... I don't find it unbearably crowded either early for breakfast or at all for dinner (I just try not to go as soon as it opens). Lunch is usually pretty crowded.
Everyone has their tolerances and preferences though and I fully realize many people don't even like buffets to begin with so not trying to talk any\one into going to the WJ. From a selfish perspective, I'd prefer they not, lol. I also realize my wife and I wake up extremely early and going to breakfast when we do also doesn't suit many others.

Poolside reacted to twangster in Roommate Canceling due to Health
This can come down to the expectations of those involved.
If the person cancelling feels like they should get all their money back then that leaves the person still going to pay the full amount of two guests in that cabin.  Is it fair for the person who is cancelling to get their money back and force the other person to pay more?  In my opinion no, that person committed to going and their health issues are not the fault of the person who still sails.  Your group may see it differently.
The cruise line does not provide refunds for health reasons.  Individuals can purchase travel insurance that might include coverage for a covered reason and if their health situation falls into one of the covered reasons then the insurance might cover them.  If they decided not to purchase travel insurance then they accepted all of the risk.
So it often comes down to expectations and very often expectations do not align with cancellation policies.  If is unfortunate that a person's health could put cabin mates into this scenario.  However both parties agreed to the terms and conditions which do not provide refunds for health reasons.  If the cruise line isn't providing a refund then why should that person expect that someone else (the other party) should be financially responsible to reimburse them?
