I know this question comes up semi-regularly, so when this story showed up in my Google feed I figured I'd pass it on for future travelers. There's quite a bit of info all in one place:

VOOM only comes with Quantum and Oasis class ships.
Thank you for clarifying that!

We're booked in a Junior Suite and plan on bidding on a higher suite, such as an Owner Suite. If the bid accepted, will we be given access to the Suite Lounge? TIA
Absolutely. You'll have all Sky Class privileges: Suite Lounge, Concierge Access, free VOOM access, enhanced embarkation & debarkation, etc. etc. The only thing you don't necessarily get through Royal Up when going to suite from a non-suite is the double points, but since you're already in a Jr. Suite, you'll get those as well!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a post cruise excursion through RC that does not include transfer to the airport.
Agreed. Perhaps I was unclear in what I was asking. Just curious if there are any post-cruise excursions out of Galveston, as I can't seem to find any info on them on the website. I added the IAH bit due to the fact that there are two airports people tend to fly into Galveston on: IAH is larger but farther, HOU is smaller but closer (and potentially easier to run a post-cruise excursion to).

When it first popped for us it was $43 but after about a week it moved to 49.99 and hasn't budged since then. My wife can swill $43 worth of mimosas no problem.
She's also in Industrial Food Service education so it will be interesting for her.
The galley tour was absolutely fascinating, I'm sure someone with her background will find it to be very informative. They also open the floor up to questions, so depending on how many mimosas she's downed at that point, that could be interesting for everyone!

I probably should have asked here instead of the general forum.
We are cruising with our little one diagnosed with ASD, would you say I have zero chances of getting his usual chicken strip and fries at a specialty restaurant?
Thanks!
As @CGTLH said, almost all of the specialty restaurants should have chicken fingers & fries. If you're worried that one may not (Izumi maybe?), stopping in the day before and letting the staff know your request would almost certainly guarantee that they could accommodate you. Those items are found all over the ship, and the staff is always willing to help out when able to!

The sushi and avocado making classes just showed up in my Cruise Planner this week for my summer sailing.

Hey all! Just curious if there's typically any post-cruise excursions out of Galveston that include transportation to IAH? Our flight leaves after 3:30, so figured it was an option worth exploring. The RCI shore excursions pages aren't nearly as user-friendly as they used to be, and I having a hard time going through them. We're not leaving until the summer, so the fact that nothing's in the Cruise Planner isn't surprising, but I'm just trying to look ahead and see if it's even a possibility!

Resort pass ended up being totally worth the money.
Just as an aside, thank you for coming back and posting this! Most people take the info and just move on with their lives (which is fine!), but I appreciate that you took the time to come back and "pay it forward."

If we get our 80th night in the middle of our next cruise, will we get the Diamond benefits then or only after the completion of the cruise?
The casino upgrades your level as soon as you get the requisite points.
Thanks
Status upgrades occur following the cruise you reach the point threshold on. If you reach 80 points mid-cruise, you will receive your Diamond benefits on the following cruise.

i'm sorry. i read this too fast and i thought it said: i see people wear their robes IN the flowrider all the time.
and the visual that ensued.... was a lot.
i was imagining drownings by heavy terrycloth, copious amounts of flashing, gratuitous wipeouts.
So, a standard afternoon at the Flowrider....with terrycloth?

Hi, does anyone know if i can pay for the trip (no the purchaces i make inside the ship) with a debit card or a direct deposit?
Direct Depost/EFT: not so sure. Debit card: absolutely. That said, if you have a credit card available, I always suggest using that for some of the additional travel protection, charge disputes and separation from your actual bank account that a credit card provides, not mention any potential "points" or cash back offers. You can always immediately write a check or pay your bill online to pay off the credit card!

There was one at the start of the month (columbus day?), so I guess we should be due another one fairly soon to keep us entertained between now and black Friday.
The Diwali sale this Monday should carry us through to the Halloween Spooktacular Savings, which will hold our interest until the Veterans Day Honoring our Heroes with Savings Sale which will end shortly before Black Friday. No worries.

Better yet, have your travel agent call and work it out while you relax on the couch!

@USCG Teacher so we tried Koop's BBQ Kitchen in Galveston on this trip... it was great! The barbecue and side dishes were really good. The space was clean and pretty basic. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'd recommend it!
First off, well remembered. Secondly, thank you! It's going on the list.
