i just dont know how you can require a Vaccine to cruise, no other vacation spot does this....june 1st Vegas is going back to Pre Covid. you cant survive on vaccinated people only.... there isnt enough people vaccinated

I just booked Alaska for this coming season and there was an alert at top of the booking page saying required proof of vaccination, if i remember was also in statement before clicking for paying deposit.

I for one am darn glad they are requiring it makes me feel even safer.

This is not the place to debate the vaccine

let us get back to finding a way around another Law, Florida put in place due to somebodies Knee Jerk reaction.

This Law is much like, the rumors that say it is against the law to ask if your vaccinated because of HIPAA, when HIPAA clearly only applies to medical providers releasing your information with out your expressed permission.

Symphony is the newest Oasis class ship with arguably better shows on board and activities like slides.

Allure is a fine ship but she didn't get amplified (refreshed) due to the pandemic.

Hence the difference in price even if the sailing days are the same and the itinerary is similar.

Hands down Symphony would be the better choice if all other things were equal.

That's one thing in a store where the best they can do is ban you from that store.

It's another matter on a plane where it actually breaks a law with all that goes along with breaking laws.

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/10/travel/faa-unruly-airline-passenger-fines.html#:~:text=Four people are facing nearly, the skies with the easing

Four people are facing nearly $70,000 in civil fines for clashing with airline crews over mask requirements and other safety instructions on recent flights, part of what the Federal Aviation Administration called a “disturbing increase” in the number of unruly passengers who have returned to the skies with the easing of pandemic restrictions.

no where in my comment on "Public Disobedience" did I imply that it required that you clash or argue with an authority figure.

Friends spent this past week on vacation in Hawaii.  They said it was a long, long day of flights and layovers going from ME to HI with masks on the whole time other than eating/drinking.

Just flew back from Dallas last week and had no problem keeping my mask off for much of the trip,  isolated seating in airport with a drink in front of me not bothered, after the plane started the roll I slipped it down and only pulled it up again when in noticed the few time the stewardess was coming down the isle.

Mind you I have been fully vaccinated for months now, so the chance of me contracting it, being an asymptomatic carrier are less than the chance of my dying in a car wreak on the way home from the airport.  So I poised no risk to myself or others.

I think the public will determine when enough is enough through increased public disobedience.

Problem with that is it puts a huge burden on the staff to enforce the have and have not rules.

no we just give them special sea pass cards and make them wear funny hat when they leave their cabins.

Consequence for no compliance is to walk the plank, i mean gangway where the ship will leave you at the next port of call.

Hey don't laugh that isn't anymore ridicules than the CDC's mandates

Here in WV the governor is lifting the mask mandate effective Jun 20th.  In the stores I'm seeing an increasing number of unmasked shoppers; I say that it's risen to a 2-1 ratio.  The people are tiring from the mask requirement and starting to revolt, in our area there is no shortage of vaccines and they have become available at local pharmacy's or at a twice weekly mass vaccination clinic.

Agree, here in the Midwest it is no longer "Can I get the vaccine"  but now it is "Do I want to get the Vaccine"

Maybe I can sue the un-vacinated for depriving me of my liberty and pursuit of happiness -JUST KIDDING - my warped sense of humor thought that statement was funny.

  8. just a little insight on all the mask requirement stuff that we hear, and it's actual enforcement.  Here in the USA masks are required by TSA in all airports, except when eating and drinking.  I am fully vaccinated and have been for months so, personally I have no concerns.  No Judgement here just observations.

To set the scene I returned home today from DFW to Iowa and left out of terminal B.  While we waited to board for 2 hours we both walked the terminal and sat and read.  Of note, NO one siting in any restaurant or eating area had on a mask, whether they were actively engaged in eating or drinking, all were mask-less in those area.  Dozens of people were improperly wearing masks even while walking the corridors.  Again dozens of people were sitting in normal seats or at the counters with usb / power. without masks, most had a drink close at hand but not all.  I sat somewhat away from others and set a bottle of water in front of me and read without a mask for an hour, no one commentated to me, or ask me to put it on.  i did wear my mask onto the airplane, but as soon as the plane started its takeoff roll, I pulled it down, on the rare occasion the stewardess came down the isle I pulled it back up, though I missed it one time and nothing was said.  Now if someone would have said anything to me at any time I would have gladly said sorry and put it back on, but my point is no one did.

Just to be clear I am fully a supporter of vaccination and of the recent reports that that those fully vaccinated are not only 96+% not going to catch, but that they are also proven to be non-asymptomatic carriers.  I also found that being retired and only having to wear a mask for short time in stores as opposed to having to wear one all day at work, wearing one for a prolonged period was a big pain in my A55, therefore in view of being fully vaccinated I elected to wear one only when absolutely necessary to no cause trouble.

Here in the USA we are more attuned to everyone being allowed to have their own opinion and act as the want, and I exercised my right as I saw fit.  Sorry if i offended anyone by either actions or comments I have posted.

We are 90 days out from our scheduled sailing on Liberty,   Have a corner aft balcony and am thinking getting the  same spot on a replacement ship is going to be tough,,,

yes a source of frustration when you get the cabin you really want and then the ship changes or you have to pick another one.

Changes to the ship and don't get the same cabin.  It has happened both of the possible ways for me.  They changed the ship and probably started with a clean slate and you got the same cabin location.  then they have also just offered alternative sailing but on another ship either same of different date and you took what you could get.

  10. I am pretty sure that if there is a loophole to be found the RCG lawyers will find it.

My first thought is that almost all bookings are done on-line or through a travel agent not in the state of Florida, and even they maybe working across state lines.  Interstate commerce is governed by federal law not by state law.  That is why it took a federal court (supreme court) ruling to force market place facilitators (MPF) like eBay and amazon to start collecting state sales tax for any state that required it.  Just my thoughts from a non-lawyer.

I would say that if you do either of these two tours, you should book via the cruise line. Even though the Tulum tour will get you back to Playa del Carmen in plenty of time, the ferry adds an extra point of risk, so this is the one time where I'd say that it's worth paying the cruise premium for an excursion.

Whole heartily agree on this point.

I think one of the best hacks to pack less, is to be open to wearing something more than once. As long as you don't sweat through a shirt or the like, you can wear the same thing, let's say for dinner at least a couple of times. I'm sure it has happened on past cruises with other passengers, but to be honest, I've never noticed. I've never said to myself, "Hey! What a minute! They wore that two nights ago!" I know, easier said than done for a guy.

    Happy Cruising!

spacing out when you repeat the wearing goes a long way to making it less noticable

Note: It was stated this particular test to fly home after the cruise is included in the cost of the cruise.

The test currently required to enter the Bahamas on your way to the cruise is not paid for by the cruise line.

This is much the same as all the land based resort whose information i also follow

The heat getting turned up from multiple angles as it is something they can't ignore much longer... CDC recognizes that senators hold purse strings and they also understand that a sympathetic judge in the suits could ruin their future authority  even if the "act" does not get passed...  On the subject of ports letting us in... Some of them are begging. Cruises represent substantial portions of their economies...

It is past time for action, both legislative and legal action should be initiated ASAP.

I'm not a Lawyer but I think it is high time the cruise industry files some lawsuits against the CDC challenging their actions.  Heck if attorney Michael Winkleman can file an absurd lawsuit say the fall was Royals fault, I'm sure he could come up with a strategy to sue the CDC
