My daughter loves strawberries and was able to get a bowl of strawberries at each dinner, the fruit salad she got had 1 strawberry cut in half. We mentioned it to our waiter and he made sure, she got a bowl of 10 or so strawberries at each dinner + 2 plates of chocolate dipped strawberries on formal nights without asking. Her eyes lighted up.

I complain on every survey about the smoke in the casino. I always plan to gamble, walk in then pretty much walk right back out. It’s the people who flock there just to sit and smoke and drink. They’re not even at a table or machine. It’s awful.

As @Matthas mentioned numerous times, he always requests some Indian Curry during his MDR dinners as a special request?
What off menu dishes or items have you requested and received?
    Any requests denied?

I haven't sailed with them, although I was tempted a couple of times when first looking at cruising. I can point you to a couple different reviews that have been written here and on other sites. First off, this review of the newest ship, Meraviglia...
In addition, @monorailmedic has sailed on MSC's Seaside. He wrote up a live blog on his site cruisehabit.com
Also pinging @Lovetocruise2002, who also sailed Seaside last year to try her out and compare with Royal.

The big thing to know about MSC is that while they're working hard to break into the North American cruising market, they are still very much a European line in terms of entertainment, service, dining (much slower pace in the MDR), and other areas. Everything I've read from everyone who's reviewed them uniformly says that if you keep that in mind so you adjust your expectations accordingly, they're a good line.
The only other major item of note that I've read is that they can be a bit... classist? That is to say, if you get a cabin in the Yacht Club area, your experience will apparently be miles above what the folks in the non-YC cabins get. Not sure how accurate this truly is, at least on the newer ships; I seem to recall @monorailmedic saying that their experience on Seaside was fantastic, and they were "only" in a regular cabin with the Fantastica experience package. But it is something I've read, and may just be a case of passengers who didn't go in with the right expectations about the line.
    Hope this helps!

Srp431 reacted to twangster in OASIS OF THE SEAS - CAME INTO MIAMI PORT EARLY
Two medical emergencies on board required she make her way to port as quickly as possible.
The Captain announced they had consulted with doctors on land and determined this was safer than a helicopter evacuation.  There are situations where a helicopter evacuation can't be performed or isn't advisable.
The only impact to the cruise was the casino and shops closing early.    Otherwise you would have never known we were in port approximately 6 hours early.
Due to tides we were scheduled to be at the pilot station at 2am and we actually arrived at the pilot station near 8pm.
Ships often have to divert for medical reasons.  Helicopter evacuations are not standard.  Three weeks ago Empress had to visit Key West on an unscheduled basis to drop off a medical emergency.  That caused her to reach Miami a few hours late the next day.  It happens quite often and we frequently see ships from different cruise lines diverting or returning to port for medical emergencies.

Srp431 reacted to twangster in Carrying on luggage with the key
Think of the normal airline carry on bag.  That's typically a 22" or smaller suitcase.
Larger suitcases will be required to be checked curbside.
Having said that someone may pop and is offer how they managed to get a larger bag through security but isn't the norm and not what the boarding process is designed to handle.  Walking uphill on the gangways over uneven surfaces isn't easy.  If they let people bring whatever size they could cram through the xray machine it would clog up the terminal and boarding process in general.  The Key is a not a means to bypass that process.

Yes, the pools will be open.  Bring your bathing suit in a your carryon because you may not get your luggage until late afternoon.  Also, you cannot get into your room until about 1pm and will have to keep your carryon with your until then.

Welcome to the Royal Caribbean Blog!  As others have mentioned, Cruise Critic is a different place, so you'd have to ask over there.
A suggestion for your next post, put a title that gives us more details on your question.  The "????" won't get a lot of views as it doesn't tell people what information you are looking for, so it will get ignored.

@Matt Many other sites I frequent have a sticky post that explains FAQ in a cogent logical manner. It seems this great site could benefit from sticky posts. The above question is frequently asked and very well answered. Stickies aren't an extra task for the admin, because quality posts when recognized become stickies.   If I my be so bold as to offer an other suggestion rename the third forum Dining and Drinking as that would funnel those type of questions together. Sorry for the hijack.

ISince we are docked at the downtown pier, we decided to go out into town for a while. Beside us is docked NCL Breakaway.

Out in the bay, offshore, is the NCL Escape.  She is tendering her peeps ashore with lifeboats.  Glad I’m not on Escape !
We walked down to the Plaza and decided to have a couple of beers and some chips and pico de gallo.  This was the first alcohol that either of us have had the entire cruise !  The cold Coronas tasted pretty good.  More about this, later.

At some point, Dan mentioned something about maybe getting a cheap massage.  Oh yeah....that sounded like a GREAT idea.  After finishing our beers and chips, we asked our waiter if there was anywhere close where we could get a massage. It seemed we were in luck !  No more than 20 paces down the side street was a spa.  The decision was made.  If the price was right, we were getting massages.  Trust me, this is no foo foo spa.  It’s a hole-in-the-wall place but the price seemed right.  $70 each for a 90 minute massage.  Done.  They put us in a “room” for 2.  I put “room” in quotations because it is really just 1 big room with curtains to separate the “private” areas.  Good enough for us.
I will just say up front that this was one of the best massages I have ever had.  Most masseuses hurt me.  I guess I’m just a wimp but the whole “deep tissue” thing is about as far from enjoyable as I can get.  But this lovely lady’s touch was perfect. You start out on your belly, of course, and I was really settling in...enjoying every stroke.  She did my back, neck and shoulders.  Heaven.  Then she moved to my legs....and trouble began to brew.
Here’s where the forewarning from the beer and chips photo comes back into play.  As if, by some awesome force of nature and gravity combined, the moment she started pushing “up” (towards my torso) on my legs, the beer bubbles began to be pushed up from my belly.  Had I been standing, I would simply let out a diminutive “burp” and all would have been fine....but I was laying on my stomach and those beer bubbles were trapped between my stomach and my throat.  I tried to maneuver in a way that would allow them to escape, but nopesville.  They just kept accumulating in a most unpleasant location, soon to be joined by some chips and salsa (thank you, hiatal hyneria).  It was both horrifying and hilarious at the same time.
I thought the legwork would never end.  Finally, after what seemed like hours, she whispered “turn over on your back, please”.  As soon as I moved, the loudest, most manly, horrific belch came roaring out.  It was so loud I’m sure they heard it across the street.  Dan said “are you ok ?”  I was so relieved.  I just muttered “yes, I’m fine”.
The moral of this story is NEVER drink a beer before having a massage !
