Hoppy2cruise got a reaction from Sharla in DO NOT BOOK THROUGH ROYAL CARIBBEAN
Keep in mind that if you did have a TA, that person probably couldn’t match your company’s special rate either.  The person who said it could be done was not correct  which was the “glitch” that didn’t allow it to work.
In the future, do a mock booking for the exact cabin, date, ship, etc you want to get a price but do not actually book.  Instead, call to compare to the special rate offered through your employer.  You’ll likely find the two are not equal at all (as has been pointed out by TJCruisers - the deals are not “apples to apples.”)   Once you have those details, actually decide whether to go through with an actual booking with Royal or through the work offer.
Chances are the deal you booked really was the best after all.  For now, believe that is the case and enjoy your cruise.

Most people on this blog are fairly experienced cruisers who know that Royal (and all cruise lines) are always running "sales". The earlier you book the better price you get is the general rule. Good travel agents like the one you will find mentioned thoughout this blog will sometimes be able to offer Group discounts and perks. If I ever think there is a possibility my plans will change I book refundable deposits. Sorry you found a better deal after you booked with Royal but thats really not their fault and you will still have a great time on your cruise.

It doesn't sound like RC did anything wrong. You found a group rate elsewhere after booking direct.

OP said "a few months ago" so too late to transfer. Plus those corporate discounts tend to be big box stuff and not a TA you'd want to rely on for any help.

My advice is get a travel agent who can work through these details.

This card seems to be an indication of drink package sales on that cruise not being at whatever target RC wants them at.

If you are getting the Key, you should get early boarding privileges.  Use them to your advantage and prioritize things you will do when you get on board.  I would do the following:
Visit muster station Check into Adventure Ocean with the kiddo to get her signed up there. Go eat the Key Lunch Go wild on the pool deck I bet you can be in the pool with your daughter by 12:30 with this plan.

Crank Up the Music and Bring Me a Drink of the Seas
Dive Bar of the Seas - (they only serve strong "bottom shelf" drinks, draft beers and burgers - music provided by an old juke box)

I don't think RC did anything wrong. This is where having travel insurance is key.

Also consider that if you are buying insurance now, it may not apply to a cruise you have previously purchased.  This would fall in the same category as "Oops, I have to cancel my cruise, so I better go buy an insurance policy, so I can get all my money back."  The fact that you are already aware that your cruise could be skipping Labadee makes it too late to get insurance to cover that possibility.

I agree with @smokeybandit.  In order to file an insurance claim you must have suffered some financial loss that you are trying to recoup.  There is no financial loss in missing a port unless you have a non-refundable excursion already purchased and that’s not even possible on Labadee.  There is no claim to file.

No doubt about it, there are shortcomings to Guaranteed bookings.
Your way around this is to phone your travel agent, select the cabin you'd like from what's available, and pay the extra $.

Hoppy2cruise reacted to Diesel in Can Deluxe Package get even cheaper than "50% OFF FOR SECOND GUEST"?
The 30% discount is cheaper than the 50% discount because the 30% discount applies to both passengers.  The 50% discount only applies to the second passenger which is essentially a 25% discount for each passenger.
The 30% discount for each passenger is the best discount I've ever seen.  It ends up being about $70/person/day on most cruises at today's prices.  Obviously, some itineraries might be slightly higher or lower.

It's completely normal to sometimes get different wait staff when you have My Time Dining.
This is the exact reason we always choose a set dining time,  usually the early seating, to ensure we have the same wait staff the entire cruise.

I don't think the program is broken, it is doing exactly what it is intended to do, motivate repeat bookings.
When a program is successful isn't a sign that it must change.  It's a sign that is has been designed properly.
If it isn't broken, it doesn't need to be fixed.

That's alright. We will welcome Mariner of the Seas with open arms. Just wish they would schedule her for some 7 night cruises that go to Cayman Islands and Jamaica. The Oasis class ships are too big and we used to sail B2B on the Freedom class ships (Liberty) for a varied port experience that we thoroughly enjoyed.

1 - Harmony actually does parties from 60s to 90s! SO MANY PARTIES!
2 - I would also drop the 70s party.  It's the same 10 songs and the same lackluster participation.
3 - I would drop the worlds sexiest man competition primarily because while it seems like most guys just do it to have fun, there's always that one conventionally attractive guy that enters and I know I would personally take a hit to my self esteem to see the reactions go from fun whooping to stripper screaming
