I honestly can't answer that last question. I just have been able to stop my son (the 7yr old) in the past year or so from going up and just hugging strangers. We are still working on personal space with him. I thought about a loophole of a mesh mask. Technically it would be a mask, but without the problems of a standard one. Either that or my son is going to be Batman or Spider-Man for our trip. :147_information_desk_person: LOL

Ahh yes, mask loopholes will get us over this pandemic and back to cruising faster.

I'm not saying that it is all of those that work there. I also don't mean that they necessarily want people to be sick. What I am saying is that those who are in the most powerful of positions  are enjoying the ability they now have to control people, even if they don't say it out loud. If you think that some people don't  ever think that way then you truly don't understand the human condition and I would love to live with your rose colored glasses. You should look up the Stanford prison experiment. There is more going on with all of this than what most see on the surface. I've done my own research and there are things that aren't adding up. Anyway, yes, I believe the cruise industry is getting a raw deal. We see how RCCL and others are doing their best to do what is needed and then the rules change just as it is getting done, kind of like when Cinderella is trying to go to the ball (Disney version).

I would love to know what lab you did your research in, and with what funding.  My friend runs a biotech lab in Boston, and they are currently hiring.

It's about more than just when we will sail again. If the CDC continues to be like this they can successfully mortally wound if not kill the cruising industry. Let's just say that they stop cruising for an entire year, which is possible, then a good few of the cruise line will go belly up, Virgin probably being one of the first. If that happens it will effect many other travel industries and the economies of other countries that depend on the tourism. Many of us are tired of being told what to do by a group of people who don't seem to completely know what is going on as they keep changing their statements and their numbers always seem to just not add up completely. The CDC thrives on panic and confusion and (IMO) they are enjoying this sudden rush of power.

Why in the hell would they be enjoying this? Cmon. Was the CDC running better when you were in charge of it?

I just called CDC 1-800-232-4636, they have NO idea what is going on. 1st went medical line, they have nothing to do with policy only health care answers. Nothing re: cruise lines,They sent me to the media line, all that did was tell me what I already know. July 24. They were not any help at all, would not transfer me to another supervisor, ẅe are very busy, click! Getting my wife and daughters and friends to call and just ask if they have any more answers.

Pretty sure that the CDC has more important things to do, than answer your personal question of when you can drink a labadoozie again...

Im guessing the amount of money they save on normal helpings/servings vs some people throwing away 80% of every plate they take will be considerable.

Not to mention the efficiency,  I can't count on both and hands and feet how many times i got stuck behind someone because they were trying to pick around and grab all the meat/shellfish out of a certain dish.

For those restaurants that use the a la carte cover charge, the credit is per person, per visit.  So, if you are going to Playmakers (for example) for lunch on embarkation day, you can use it for lunch and then if you want to, you can go back for dinner and you will have another $25 (or whatever the credit amount is) worth of credit again.  You can use it as many times per day in as many a la carte restaurants as you want.  Of course, you can also eat in as many flat fee specialty restaurants as you want so you can go to Playmakers for lunch and Chops for dinner ! ...or you can go to Giovanni's for lunch and Chops for dinner.  Just make sure and make reservations for your sit-down specialty restaurants.  On our last cruise, we went to Chops for dinner one night and then sauntered over to Wonderland and had dessert !!

Finding out that I can hit up Izumi sushi and max out my $35 multiple times per day is an absolute gamechanger, hope my November sailing goes out.

I can’t even imagine the “Karens” policing everyone who drops their mask for a split second while cruising.

Mask Police are currently all over retail stores just waiting to call you out for not wearing it wearing it to their standards.

    You mean properly?

Now if you really want a challenge bounce back and forth between the wipeout bar and Bolero’s using stairs only. That way by the time you’ve walked those 11 flights of stairs and all the way aft or forward you’ve already worked off that drink.

Walk up but slide back down via abyss, you may be on to something

We're sailing on Symphony again in late September/early October...you might want to do what I do and invest some time working off those extra calories on the Deck 5 walking track. ?

Right now, the most exercise I have planned are upper body workouts.  Lifting forks, heavy glasses, throwing dice, pulling slot machines,  etc... Maybe I'll implement a no 2 drinks in a row from the same bar rule, so I'll have to walk more.

  10. We are finally getting the Unlimited Dining on Symphony for the first time ever. Gonna be straightforward, how much can we get at each specialty dining venue? I know the deal with a la carte, but say we go to Jamie's, can we totally fat out and order every app, all the pasta and multiple entrees, with no upcharge? Can we order multiple entrees at chops and 150? We are looking to push our belts to the limit. Thanks!

  11. We have, and we've done the same itinerary 2 years in a row haha. If our Cuba trip hadn't gotten rerouted to western caribbean last year, doing this itinerary this year wouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately all of the eastern caribbean discounts we were offered are sold out for the dates we can do.
