Ohh ok good to know! Did you go to one of the kiosks they have set up when you board? I haven't been on a Quantum class ship yet so I don't know their exact set up for reservations. 

@spiralqueen....we did the pop up room on Anthem.  Never saw it listed in the cruise planner and never mentioned in the Cruise Compass.   We asked about it as soon as we got on board to reserve other on-board activities (thank you RC Blog and podcast (@Matt)  for THAT tip!). 
Our family of 4 was paired up with 8 other people.   Fun for all. 

We will be there in early March and have reserved the Beach Club. I will make sure to post a review on my return!

I made our door decorations by putting magnets on the back of some cute cardboard cutouts made for teacher decorations 

This isn't included in the cruise fare, but rather a tip for included with the refreshment or deluxe beverage packages that not everyone knows about. One of my favorite things about the Oasis class ships is that the fresh fruit smoothies and juices at the Vitality Spa Cafe are included in the (non-soda) beverage packages. The only thing not included is if you want to add a shot of protein powder. So yummy and with WAY less sugar than those daiquiri syrup mixes. 

As one of the Board of Directors for our local Junior League of Cotillions, I often am in situations or environments where everyone dresses like this (or fancier). We do it all. The white gloves including. We hold 2-3 Balls a year complete with orchestras and dancing. When I attend the evening events at my ballroom dance school, it is not unusual to see many ladies in full gown or gentlemen in tuxedos.... alongside younger "kids" in jeans and TOMs. Or the lady that always wears the most fantastic "cha cha" pants with ruffles from her ankles to her cooter!
I have a lovely wardrobe of gowns and dresses. We recently held a full Victorian Ball and every lady in attendance had a hoop skirt on!
I truly love taking a moment out of my day and spending time on myself to dress up. To do my hair. To put on a gown or dress that makes ME feel like a princess. It makes ME happy. I could prance off to Home Depot for light bulbs or meet friends at a dive diner for a chili dog (I have actually done this in a gown, long story) and at the end of the day, I have never once felt out of place or uncomfortable. When I dress up, it is about me and me alone. It's not for anyone else. Just me. 
When I sail in April, I have not one but TWO gowns because I understand there will be two formal nights. I will also bring two dresses probably for 70s/White nights if they have them. When I board, I have a lovely dress and.... prepare to gasp... A HAT!
And not a ball cap, an actual HAT!
It's not as over the top as this one but I'd say it's "in the spirit of".

I plan to swan about and dress for dinner and be presentable for breakfast or coffee in the morning because that makes ME happy.
For all those who prefer to wear their pajamas to get coffee or shorts and a backwards ball cap in the Main Dining room?
You are always welcome to sit with me, next to me, or in my immediate field of vision. How you choose to dress does not affect ME (unless you are in full fetish gear and have that mask with the zipper on.... those kind of freak me out a little so I might politely excuse myself but really that's about the only time it might bother me a little but that's on me, not you so if I am uncomfortable, it's my responsibility to attend to removing myself POLITELY and GRACEFULLY from the situation, not yours for being there).

I have met some of the rudest nastiest people in the world who are wearing a tuxedo or gown. I have also met some of the most fabulously delightful warm wonderful people in the world who are dressed rather sparse or "sloppy". What a person chooses to pull out of their closet and drape on their body doesn't make them a good or kind or pleasant person. That only comes from the heart. And if you have a good heart then I could give a fig what you are wearing. If you are a mean spirited, ill tempered, nasty person than the most gorgeous most expensive designer gown won't fix that black void where your heart should be.

We payed $549.00 for our New Years cruise. That cabana is now  3 grand! Interested to see how the pricing goes!

Yaaaaay! There’s already a decent number of us on Oasis that week. I’ve taken to calling it the Unofficial satellite group cruise lol. If you look on FB there’s a group for our sailing already started by @FloatMe

Beer, wine, soda, and water is available anytime the Suite Lounge bar is open. For spirits it is only during the happy hour.
No restriction on number of drinks at once, card isn't required at the bar.

This is why there are some experienced cruisers who make up a “ghost” second passenger on the reservation who they have no intention of ever showing up.  If you were to add another name now and just be a no show yourself it would still trigger a reprice since you aren’t swapping out a name but rather adding one. I understand your frustration, but this is overall a civil board and there’s no need to insult someone who is just trying to help you and is an incredibly helpful member of the community. Some people are getting a tad snarky now, but it’s because they perceive you to have “fired first”.

A huge change for Oasis of the Seas is the addition of the Perfect Storm water slides.




The entrance and stairs for all three slides is on deck 15 port side.









 



The slides are a lot of fun and they've been open even on port days when there are no lines and you can slide and slide again.

I have found the Snack Shack crispy chicken sandwich to be more similar to the Shake Shack chicken sandwich. Which, PS, I’m a fan of. I was impressed by how well the sandwich traveled too. I had it when we were in a cabana and I was taking an exploratory walk when the food came. I was about 20 mins late for the sandwich (after cabana delivery. Lord knows the travel time from snack shack to there) and it was still quite good. Now. The free bonus drink I got due to a bar error might have had SOME effect on my sandwich enjoyment, but I maintain it was yummy! I was also shocked by how well the fries traveled. Not the mozzarella sticks. They are good, but eat them first!

For example, if I was hanging out by the pool and wanted to go to trivia, I felt like I couldn't because I had no way of telling the others where I was going and didn't want to worry them that they lost me. I also undervalued how much I rely on looking things up during a conversation to either illustrate a point or check something. (ie: "where do I know that actor from? It's going to bug me so much!" "See! I'm not crazy. Folding the cold butter between layers of dough is called lamination and that's how they can get the puff pastry"). I now get the internet every time.

For being so helpful and nonjudgmental even when asking a lot of questions!
This forum is very helpful for cruises! I will recommend it to everyone!

You won't need binocs to see Kraken.  Visit any bar and view the stuff up close and personal...

El Loco Fresh is Mexican food.  It is not the Wipeout cafe with a different sign.  Completely different food.

This is probably the last update. Just after the muster drill my wife fell badly.
She was seen by the medical staff onboard and are now in a halfcast on her left leg, waiting to get a proper medical examination at the hospital in Puerto Rico. She got a wheelchair to use while onboard, no swimming, no walking. This vacation could have started better. 

Playmakers.
Like Symphony this is outdoors on the boardwalk. 
 








The "Owner's Box" within Playmakers is available on a reservation basis.  Cost on this sailing was $100 per hour.

Expanded draft beer choices.

With additional sports content on ships with a Playmakers they have expanded the NFL football broadcasts.  In the past only two games were shown based on what was available with the standard channel lineup.

Day 7: Sea Day! 
 
I woke up pretty early this morning feeling a little queasy. The following video was taken at 7am and was from the  seating area near the deck 6 Cafe Lattitudes. The outside decks were closed due to weather.
IMG_2761.MOV That noise you hear in the background is the ship creaking. The hot chocolate was amazing but the banana muffin I didn’t bother taking a picture of was again, offensive. I have to believe that Royal is allergic to cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, clove, and ginger judging by the banana muffins and pumpkin pie. 
 
That muffin didn’t do quite enough in settling my stomach. I could tell I needed carbs and grease. Aka hash browns and sweet raisin bread with a sprinkle of cinnamon on it. This called for Windjammer.  That really hit the spot. Post- WJ, I went to the Solarium where there were a bunch of spots. But many of them were in direct wind blow of the doors and thus VERY chilly. I went to the back to camp out and it worked out really well. The return trip was a bit turbulent. This was the pool. Shockingly it was quite vacant for most of the day.

I wonder why. Anyway, I read in the Solarium for quite some time until it was dinner time. Because of the thanksgiving disappointment, we went with the WJ and it was much better. Nice little cheese wheelbarrow display 
A food officer came around to our table while we were eating to semi subtlety fish for top marks on the post cruise survey. We expressed to him that it was our best WJ experience across the fleet. That was not ass kissing. Grandeur has an amazing WJ IMO and except for the first night and formal nights, we went there for dinner and had no regrets. 

After dinner, I realized that it  was the last night on board and I hadnt visited the casino yet. This had to change. Now I’m a roulette gal. I know the rules of blackjack, but it requires math and I despise when I get dealt my hand and the others react before me to my hand. No ty. I’ll take random chance over feeling like an idiot tyvm. Anyway, I went down to the casino and there was only 1 roulette table and it was packed. I did a couple of laps to see if anyone would move or if there were any video roulette machines. Nay to either of those. I then remembered the primary rule of cruising. If you don’t ask, they can’t help. So I approached the casino host and mentioned that I was looking to play roulette but the open table has been packed and I couldn’t find a video roulette machine. Was another table going to be open at some point? I was told to wait at an empty table and it would have a dealer in 5 minutes. I gladly did so. Now this request didn’t require me to be some high roller. I have a superstition where my buy in for roulette is $60. It has never served me wrong. I went to that table and I was alone for some time until some some adorable teenagers came over to join me. I really liked them because they made me feel like a high roller. When they were buying in at $5 total, me playing the inside and outside in the same turn felt like some sort of Monte Carlo nonsense. My buy in superstition served me well and at some point I had more than doubled my money. Right when I was a bit more than doubled my buy in, the dealer changed and I followed my golden rule. Give the new dealer 2 rounds. If you lose both, walk. Anyway, no one cares about my winnings, but I mainly wanted to share that if you want to give Royal money and the tables are full, talk to the casino host. It can’t hurt. 

Right now there is not a suite benefit to Coco Cay. IMO if you think there SHOULD be, that’s something that belongs in a post cruise survey if you have Coco Cay on the itinerary. Maybe if they hear from enough people, it will be something they consider. I don’t always cruise GS+, but I think there should be some sort of parity between Labadee and Coco Cay so I made note of it in my survey.
