@WAAAYTOOO Thank you!  I love learning something new about cruising on here. First time I have seen Side to Side.  I must of gotten the Royal Cruising bug this will be my third cruise in the 8 months, and have booked a transatlantic for next year too.

So I just got off work 3/2/20 so I could sailing on the 3/1/20 sailing as well but I think the locks on the house would be changed by my wife when I got home after four weeks on the Oasis!  lol

Prime example of why I don't leave my travel plans for the last day. My cruise doesn't leave Miami until Sunday. I will be on the ship when she sails.

I loved it too, cruised in January.  Loved new outdoor deck in solarium, Portside BBQ delicious as was El Loco Fresh, Playmakers was great too, indoor or outdoor seating. Missed the Champagne Bar though, no wine or bourbon at Bionic bar.

I have 3 days and 263 days showing on my countdown clock.
Vacation starts at 5 pm today. My area of Coastal North Carolina RARELY has snow. Guess what? We're supposed to have a decent one starting later today and overnight. My flight is scheduled to leave Norfolk at 9:13 tonight. Will I kick off my vacation flying to Florida? Will I start it by staying at the LaQuinta in Norfolk near the airport? Who knows? Either way I'm on vacation.

I personally wouldn’t be hesitant to book an Asia sailing. COVID-19 has so far not even come close to the flu in total number of cases or deaths this year. Not saying the outbreak isn’t bad, maybe just not as bad as it initially sounds. Also if things get unsafe, you see cruise lines taking steps to cancel cruises, implement screenings, and issue refunds.

I haven’t been to Asia yet but it is definitely on my bucket list.

Hope you figure out what works best for you!

Scared, no? Do I think it's the best idea at the moment, still no. February '21, a lot can happen so as long as you have trip insurance that would cover, go for it.

According to the CDC there have been between 14,000 and 36,000 deaths from this year’s flu.

And that's 14k in the US and 2160 COVID-19 worldwide.

Actually, the CDC preliminary estimate of flu death in the 2019-2020 season 14,000 at the low end of the scale. Where did you see 2100?

It's correct about what happened on the 18th,  the main affection was for the shore excursions, you know, the ones offered by the ships, passengers were even in the buses at the gate waiting for departure and couldn't because of the blockade.
On the 19th, Costa Maya had 3 cruises scheduled, Celebrity Reflection, Norwegian Escape and Harmony OTS, all together had nearly 50 tours to the ruins, beach, water park etc. and every single one got cancelled as a precaution. Only Harmony confirmed that it would dock but didn't sell any of the shore excursions.
Today, the 20th apparently things go back to normal, there is a total of 35-40 official tours scheduled and people was just called to work. For today we have Empress OTS, Rhapsody OTS and MSC Meraviglia. Even if the situation eased, we as locals had an affection. If you don't come out of the port complex, a lot of locals work there and rely on commission or tips. If you go to town, you're also helping, If you get on any of the shore excursions from the ship, you'll also be helping locals because everyone from waiters, to tour guides and staff at locations is also local. So when a shore excursion from the ship is cancelled, that means that some people won't see any income for the day.
I'll update this depending on what happens later today.

The bad news is, my dad told me last night that he's moving from where we leave near each other in Michigan to the Seattle, WA area.  I'll be sad to see him go, moving so far away.
The good news is....what a great excuse to plan an Alaskan cruise out of Seattle!!!!!!  I may or may not invite him along.  LOL

I agree. I sailed on Anthem last year and tried CK for the first time. I thought it was good, but not great enough that I would eat there every night (both in service, ambiance, and food). The menu, albeit different each night, seemed almost too similar from night to night that it was quick to get burnt out on the CK California/Mediterranean style. I would be interested to try it on Oasis class ship. It is nice having choices for where to eat that are included in the cruise fare.

I agree with this. I haven't noticed where Sovereign class move any more or less than other ships. I am sure it does move a little more just because she is much smaller than say an Oasis class but I think the difference can't be too much - mostly depends on sea and weather conditions.

I would say "yes".  Others will say "no".  As long as you TRY and look snappy, that's really all you need.  Dan always wears long pants to dinner, regardless of where we dine.  I will wear whatever I have on that day so long as it is not pool/beachwear.  On formal nights I would say long pants for the guys and something a little nice for the ladies, but trust me...nobody will be turned away as long as they don't have on pool attire.  As you say, this is YOUR vacation.  Do whatever makes you comfortable.
