Brilliance of the seas issue

This is not the first time brilliance has had propulsion issues. Earlier this year, March of 2024, they had to cut a trip short for the same thing. Sounds like they did a cheap fix and and it's back to haunt them and all of us aboard.

Captain just announced they fixed the technical issue a couple of hours ago, but we are waiting for another ship to dock next to us and should be leaving in 30 minutes.  He said he will update the arrival time in a couple of hours and the ship will be going full speed ahead.

Getting OBC for 1 day cruise fare, 1 day for any week long pre-paid purchase like beverage/dining/zoom, and any shore excursions that cant be accomidated do to rescheduling of port stops.

Have talked to some folks who are having problems with trying to get late hotel checkouts do to full bookings for weekend because of Taylor Swift concerts.

Has the itinerary been changed?

And I was wondering what people would do all day in NOLA who had to check out of hotels.  Can they store luggage at the port?

Original Itinerary

Day 3 Cozumel 8:30-4:30

Day 4 George Town, Grand Cayman 11:45-6:15

Day 6 Yucatan(Progresso) 9:30-5:30

New Itinerary

Day 4 George Town 8:00-4:00

Day 5 Cozumel 10:00-6:00

Day 6 Yucatan 9:00-6:00

 

Most hotels will let you check your bags until you have to leave for port but you still need to keep yourself occupied until you go to port. I'm hoping to be able to stay in concierge lounge and watch football all day.

We had issues with Radiance returning late to Tampa last week and they only gave 1 hour (it was not written in the letter), no advice to see guest services for a phone line (was announced, not in a letter-so we all know how announcements go) and they did not provide anywhere to upload documents nor discuss change fee costs. What a difference!!  Glad to see they are a as bit more on the ball here.  I agree $200 doesn’t cover it.
