F1guynz
My SIL is on Brilliance and sounds like it has got a propulsion problem or similar. There was an announcement by the captain yesterday about an issue. The originally itinerary was Lifou, Noumea, Mystery Island, Vila and Luganville but it is now enroute to Sydney arriving 25th March. Originally it was due back 30th WAAAYTOOO, Baked Alaska and KristiZ
F1guynz
I am also curious, if Royal cuts a cruise short do you still get the full allocation of C&A points or only points for the days onboard? PPPJJ-GCVAB

In the past it has been typical to provide full CAS points for shortened voyages. WAAAYTOOO, PPPJJ-GCVAB and F1guynz 2

twangster
Sounds like the Radiance propulsion issue from last year. Anyone who has owned an older car knows stuff breaks out of the blue. Time to sell them off. dr martini, JohnK6404 and WAAAYTOOO 2
F1guynz
Here is the technical explanation of the fault from my SIL. “The issue is some bit that helps us turn. So we can go forwards and backwards but we will need a tug or some manual intervention to turn” Also sounds like they won’t get in until Tuesday now. F1guynz
The compensation offered is: Free internet and 1/2 price drinks. 50% of cruise fare. 50% of cruise fare as FCC. They are also paying upto $ 250 USD for changes to domestic flights or up to $ 250 USD per stateroom for up to 3 nights accommodation. They will not be arriving back to Sydney until 8pm on Tuesday. 9 i assume they will be able to stay on the ship that night as it would be difficult to get to accomodation at that time. Jamesszy94
Shame about Brilliance having to cut the cruise short, I can only imagine how many disgruntled guess there's going to be, but stuff happens and it's out of our control. At least they're getting compensated and the compensation is actually decent. jbrinkm

smokeybandit
It's been a rough few days for ships. Brilliance has engine issues. Carnival had another funnel fire. A HAL ship had a steam pipe explode and kill two crew members. WAAAYTOOO, Chili and PPPJJ-GCVAB
Chili
The transpacific is still on sale,so it looks like they will fix it locally. Probably dock it in Newcastle or Kembla . F1guynz
F1guynz
Brilliance is docking tonight then heading off to Newcastle drydock for repairs. its a bit rough that everyone have to get off tonight as by the time customs clears the ship and luggage is offloaded it will be after 9pm. not a great time to be moving around with all your luggage. rjweber3
