I was today years old when I realized that the elevator actually tells you which way is forward and which way is aft on the ship.

This is like my son when he was 11 telling us when we stopped for gas in a rental car that there is a little arrow by the gas symbol showing which side the gas cap is on. Apparently he saw it in a YouTube video.

I knew that one for some reason! It amazed Spouse the first time I used that knowledge. 😂

Attempted a nap in my cabin but the MSC ship next to us was having a jamming party on the pool deck. Now I realize it was their sort of sail away party. Oh well, I'll sleep when I'm dead. Back to my casita.

Random observation: there are a LOT of people on board that don't know how sunblock works apparently. But don't worry, the college girls with the glittery sunblock are perfectly fine. 👍

EDIT: TWILIGHT VAMPIRES. That's what the glitter sunblock reminds me of. Could NOT put my finger on what it reminded me of until now.

OMG. I have tried really hard not to let reality interfere with my relaxing on this trip, but........DQ is going to put me in an early grave.

Today is early out from school, so she arrived home before Spouse. We have a Ring camera and I can see everything at the front door. She apparently can't find her house key, and then I see her walk around the side of the house. WTF? So I called her to figure out what had happened. DQ had forgotten her house key today, so she went around to the back of the house and CRAWLED THROUGH THE DOG DOOR. She is super lucky that we have big dogs. 🤦🤦🤦 I'm seriously wondering how the dogs reacted now. 😂

I'm just going to be over here rolling my eyes and smacking my forehead. THIS CHILD.Screenshot_20240313-1702462.png.cc81fdaeea6338635a71a4406685dbf1.png

It's 5:25. All aboard was 4:30. We haven't left Nassau. I wonder if we're waiting for a shore excursion to get back? Tomorrow is a sea day so I guess it doesn't matter. Curious.

We finally left just after 5:30. 👍 The last ship to leave Nassau today was Carnival Sunrise.

After sailaway, I left my casita for the day, showered, changed, and headed up to the Windjammer for dinner. I was hungry and didn't feel like waiting for my 8:30 dining time in the MDR, and Izumi sushi was filled for at least another 45 minutes.

TODAY IS CREPE STATION NIGHT! It's my favorite station they do, I'm SO glad I caught it. Nothing glorious about dinner, but it was good.PXL_20240313_232333174.thumb.jpg.e823866e4386d2fc6f01b81af07a7713.jpg

Walking through the promenade to get here, there was a HUGE line out the Effy store for their get together/free drinks things tonight. I thought of @Lovetocruise2002 with Effy. 😉

Sunset was a little bit of a let down tonight with clouds. 🙁 Maybe tomorrow's sea day will be better! 🤞

This is a perfect example of why I like to pop into the WJ even if I had dinner in the MDR (we do early seating). Sure the app has the theme nowadays but you never know when you might find an item or two you really like. Big fan of the crepes too, btw.

Back in the day there used to be more unique items that would only appear once but I still think it’s worth checking out.

I thought about it, but I didn't want to be posting photos of half naked college girls I didn't know. It feels like a line I don't want to cross. 🤔

THANK you for this - what a great ally! I stopped following the blog over on the other forum due to jokes of this nature. Consent is important.

And YUM crepes!!!

Definitely worth popping in! The lady manning the crepe station was also super friendly, which made it worth it to me. She was trying to convince her colleague working back there with her to extend his contract for two more weeks so that way she could continue working with him. 😃

The crepes were delicious. 🤤

I remember all kinds of creepy things that happened to me over the years, and it always makes me pause when I'm going to interact with someone to ensure I'm not causing them the same creepy feeling. My professional life also involves college students, so I'm extra sensitive to that.

Reviewing my casita on board, 8 Seabreeze Circle. It was located on the starboard side by the railing very close to the Lime & Coconut.

I bought this months ago when I was trying to decide what to do in Nassau, and I really thought I was going to cancel it. I ended up keeping it because I didn't really want to be wandering through the city when it was hot and humid like it was in September. That was my mistake, the weather was perfect today and I should have wandered through the city. I digress. I paid $125 to have this exclusively mine from 9:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m.

Check in time at 9:00 a.m. was on deck 12 of the Lime & Coconut. There were a couple people ahead of me and nobody at the bar. We were all wondering what was going on, and finally the guy came out at 9:10. I initially chose one of the casitas furthest away from the bar area (#1), but then I realized it was going to be in the sun all day and switched.

It comes with four water bottles in the cooler/ table, four towels, the bed to lay in (comfy), and two side tables in the corner. Oddly enough, the outlet in that casita was a standard plug. The first casita I checked out (#1) appeared to have USB ports in it. Don't quote me, but it was set up slightly differently. I thought that the listing said that there was a safe inside the casita for securing belongings, but there definitely wasn't one in mine. I had to take my stuff with me each time just to be safe.

The casita stayed pretty shaded most of the day, and by the time the sun would have been on me again in the afternoon, it had popped behind a few clouds so it wasn't too bad. Some people might want to be in the casitas that are facing the sun, but I like to stay shady.

I think I spent somewhere between 6-7 hours out there to maximize the money I spent on it with the time I was given. In the morning, I was really doubting why I had reserved the casita because it was absolutely empty. In fact, a couple of the loungers beside me were in better shade than my casita was! However, after my attempted nap in the afternoon, I realized why having the casita was very helpful when everybody was everywhere on that deck area. People in the loungers around me had started using the side tables in the corner to place their drinks. No big deal to me, it was just the person that decided to leave a half eaten plate of ELF food on my bed during one of my bathroom breaks that really annoyed me.

My options for the bathroom were the one directly below me in the solarium, or I could just run a couple decks down to my room because the casita was roughly above where I was located. As the day progressed, using my cabin versus the public restroom became much nicer. 🤢

I loved watching the pier runners and sail away from the casita. Having the towels was very helpful. When the sun went behind the clouds and the wind picked up. I never had any issues with the call button for the waiter, and he was super helpful with bringing drinks and a plate of fruit around lunch time. I was actually shocked to see that most people didn't use those casitas that they had reserved until the afternoon. Maybe I'm just a penny pincher but I wanted to make sure that I maximized my purchase!

Would I book this again on a port day like I did? Possibly. I have one reserved on Navigator later this year that cost $89, which seems much more reasonable for what you get. I know that the sea day rental tomorrow for this ship is $450 and it's sold out. 😱 I definitely wouldn't do it for that much. Honestly, I think it would be much more fun if I had someone there with me. It's nice to be able to stretch out on your own and do your own thing, but it would have been fun to have been hanging out with someone to talk about the various shenanigans that were happening around me.

TL;Dr - My casita was nice. I might do it again for the right price.

Whoa! Those look nothing like the crepes on Icon…that is not what I imagined when we were on Icon and people kept saying WJ does crepes too

I actually agree. When I had crepes on Navigator and Independence, they were full-size crepes. They also had a ton more options to put into it as well as on it. This one felt more like it was designed to be snack size with just a few options to decorate it. Still love crepes!

YOU GUYS. I went and did my free play in the casino and I WON BIG! It's so big that the machine said it would be applied to my account and I couldn't cash out with the cashier. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

PXL_20240314_170353127.jpg

In all seriousness, is there something I need to do in order to get the 35¢ applied to my account? Is there something I need to do with this ticket? If I really wanted to, I mean.

Lunch at Izumi. I showed up 15 minutes before they open to ensure that I could get a seat at the sushi counter. I probably didn't need to, based on how slowly people trickled in to the counter, but I'm glad I did.

Pork gyoza, miso ramen, and vegetable rolls. It was mostly delicious, though the gyoza was pretty mediocre. I could definitely have had better service, but they were slammed with three of the four hibachi tables being filled. I was never able to place a drink order and only had water the entire time. At least I was in and out in under an hour.
