I am skipping the event this morning, we called Southwest, and they rebooked me onto a flight that leaves at noon from TUS- DEN- MIA. Spouse's reasoning is that there are many more flights for me to choose from out of Denver should something happen versus Dallas Love Field. Also, the flight from Denver to Miami is not delayed at this point. I love Spouse's calm reasoning versus my anxiety/panic. I do lose the $25 on the early bird check-in, however, I booked this trip on points, so I'm out $36 at this point. My Southwest credit card also allows me to purchase at the airport the a1-a15 boarding group if there's space available and I get reimbursed, so I'm going to do that as soon as I get to Denver to try to get better than the C boarding group that I have. I have RARELY seen the counter in Tucson busy. Only when Southwest is having a whole-system meltdown. 4. Bags are dropped off! Now I only have to manage my carry-on and backpack. Was very perturbed that it took longer than 90 seconds to enter security, get my TSA pre-check done, and pass through security. Cactus527 Posted March 11 Author Report Share Posted March 11 After just over 3 hours of sleep, IT'S CRUISE DAY!!!!! But let me back up. We ended up waiting at the Denver airport for almost an hour for some flights that were coming in late. Unfortunately, no one that was on those flights that was supposed to be on our leg showed up, so we left without them. We arrived at MIA around 12:30 a.m., but the bags didn't come out until after 1:00. Then, I had two different Lyft drivers cancel rides on me, so by the time the third driver actually picked me up, it was 1:45 a.m. He got me to hotel, I checked in, and when I was in the room, it was 2:17 a.m. Ugh. I am at the Hyatt Place Miami Airport-West/Doral. It's your standard Hyatt, which is perfectly fine. Went to bed at 3:00 a.m., and it's now just about 7:00 a.m. in time for me to start repacking suitcases, get dressed for the day, and find something to eat since the last thing I ate was in the Denver airport yesterday afternoon. I think the most interesting part of my flight was the fact that I was sitting next to a pilot. He said that he regularly flies the 737 Max 8 for his airline in Brazil.
