shezam123
Hello. First time cruiser, not till October 2017 but I can hardly contain my excitement! Travelling on Freedom of the seas, party of 4 adults 2 children. Few questions; ¤What happens when we arrive at ship? Do we get given a card or something? we have deluxe drinks package for adults and soft drinks for kids ¤Do we get given a booklet or something on arrival that informs us what activities are free on board and what ones you need to pal for? ¤Same with alcohol, does the deluxe package include all alcohol? ¤Same question about food, how do we know what restraunts/dining rooms are included in the price we have already paid? Sorry for all the questions! I didnt book so dont have any information other than the date I leave! Any help is appreciated. Thank you x shezam123
shezam123
Oh another question, ive read about being able to bring 2 bottles of wine on board per person. Is there just the first time you go onto the ship? Or after every port? I assume we all get searched on arrival? Im soooooo excited :)
shezam123
Another one! Is food 24/7? Strange question but im quite partial to a midnight feed! Also if we do end up getting charged for items, do we pay at the time or as we leave the ship? Very confused with everything to be honest! HighlandBoy
Congratulations on booking your first cruise. When you arrive onboard you will get your sea pass card which is your room key and also used to charge any items you buy to. The drinks package covers you for drinks up to $12 or $13 if you want something that cost more then you will be charged the difference +18% gratuity. The 2 bottles of wine are when you first join any other purchases of alcohol at a port stop will be taken off you for storage when you return to the ship and returned at the end of the cruise. arebee
Not all food is 24/7 but the pizza is late. The Cruise Compass will tell you the hours. Anything you receive (buy one get 1/2 off another and any other deals) are on your sea pass card. You can go to guest services to see what if available and I think some bars can print them. Room service is late also but I think after midnight there is a cost. RobWhatley
coneyraven
As others have eluded to --- Once you're on the ship, it's a cashless society (except in the casino) --- Your SeaPass Card acts as your credit card, your room key, and, in most cases, your ID card - They scan it as you come and go from the ship. It's a way of keeping tabs on who's on (or off) at any given moment.

It's two 750ml bottles per stateroom. RobWhatley

RobWhatley
Actually, on Brilliance, Jan. 2016, we made it on the ship with 2 Large bottles of wine carry on. When she stopped the Xray in Tampa, I smiled and said "yes, that's my CPAP, and a Case of Water.....pause.....and 2 bottles of wine, as I understand, we can take. She smiled and said ok. :) Most times, I find it pays to be "nice" and to smile, with a wink. It might not work all the time, but it did for us. :) Have FUN, don't worry about the small stuff. Cindy and I just booked our 2nd cruise. You'll have a BLAST! coneyraven
Sarah
Included in your cruise fare are your meals in the Main Dining Room (MDR) and Windjammer (buffet) and the cafe and pizza place on the Royal Promenade. Water, lemonade and tea and coffee are included - but you pay for speciality coffees. There is a self-serve ice-cream machine on the pool deck. You pay for dining in the speciality restaurannts, Ben & Jerry's. Most entertainment is included - theatre shows, quizzes, cinema, ice shows etc. Each night your cabin attendant will leave the "Compass" in your room - this details activites onboard for the next day - times, places and what will incur a charge Enjoy! MikeK
If you do not have a passport we can explain further but I would strongly suggest you and everyone your traveling with to get a passport. The process for getting a passport is not that difficult murphmatic
DocLC
The process for getting a passport is not that difficult Unless you have a child under 16 and the only place to renew his/her passport is your local post office that only does it by appointment and only offers appointments during school hours.
