LovetoCruise87
Hello all. After our sailing later this year we will finally reach Diamond status. My question, is there a huge difference in the discount on a balcony stateroom from Emerald to Diamond?
AshleyDillo
I think it's $50 more of a discount for cruises 5 nights or less and $100 more of a discount for longer cruises. The C&A discounts get wonky when combined with out discounts so it isn't always clear how it gets applied. Neesa

Pooch
Just hit platinum and MEI TA said she was told I’d lose the discounts I have currently to add the suites/balcony discount. So they are not stackable? Mike n Ky

Qeyton Dude
"SAIL MORE THAN 6 MONTHS" What does that mean, I thought the discount was only for last minute bookings ? What am I not following here ? Is there a different table of discount for close in sailings ?
Pooch
Yes, it’s less for sailing under 6 months out.
FloridaMac
We've recently made Diamond and have 4 additional cruises on the books. I've never received a C&A discount, and I've always asked if there's any additional discount for my C&A level. For those of you who have received the discount, is it itemized on your Cruise Vacation Receipt? What were the circumstances of your reservation to get the discount? They all seem to be 30% off or 2nd passenger 60% off (or have been for the last 4 years). If that cancels out the C&A discount what good is it?? Oftentimes, the C&A discount is superseded by a different/better discount. Only the "best" discount will apply, in most cases. A while back I recall that C&A came out with a statement that the C&A discount would be honored, even if a better discount was available (IOW, the C&A discount could be "stacked" with other discounts) but I don't think that ever truly came to fruition. Here is an example of how your invoice might look with a C&A discount (labeled here as a "balcony" discount...same thing) Sometimes discounts ARE stackable with the C&A balcony discount. It's very arbitrary which ones will and won't stack (and I have no idea how to figure out which are and which aren't !). Here is an example where both a casino and military discount were stackable with the C&A balcony discount. Note that the C&A balcony discount was somewhat reduced (from $125PP to $113 PP). Frankly, I think a lot of it depends on who you get on the phone when you book ! Maggie M, twangster, FloridaMac and 1 other 3

I've looked at cruise receipts and indeed received a discount on two. The others had larger special discounts. WAAAYTOOO
