Key Update

I know I have seen several people ask about the Key onboard as they are currently still selling it in Cruise Planner.  I have a buddy sailing next week who purchased the Key and received the following email that he shared with me.  I asked earlier in the cruise about the Key and was told that it was cancelled through 2020 but it appears to be starting again next week on Symphony.  Hope this info helps someone.

Wow complimentary room service - That’s a good perk to have. You can definitely get your money’s worth between the internet and if you get room service a few times.

We'll be watching our Grandeur sailing in January.  Currently, it's cheap enough, that if it includes room service, we'll buy it...but the description still says embarkation lunch. Might just get it and cancel if it gets closer and the description doesn't change.

The complimentary room service makes the key much more palatable in my opinion but to make it worthwhile in my opinion early priority boarding is required

Thanks, @DanielB.  I had purchased The Key for my November 29 sailing on Freedom; hopefully RCL will keep it as they did for your friend on Symphony.  Although I was really looking forward to the Chops lunch, I guess the room service is ok -- and I might be able to use the 25% off dining purchases to explore some of the other restaurants.  As long as RCL keeps the Voom S&S, it's a wash as far as I'm concerned!

So, if you have The Key and Unlimited Dining does that mean you now you can get 25% more at the restaurants you have an allowance at? Instead of the $10 cover at Izumi it would only b $7.50?

Can I ask how many days before their sailing when they received the email?  We have purchased The Key for our Nov 8th sailing on Freedom.

I read somewhere that starting with this Saturday’s Symphony to expect upwards of 3000 passengers. Maybe this is why The Key is back. I’m on her in 3 weeks. I’ll check with my Facebook group for that sailing to see if anyone has gotten this email.

Interesting, we purchased The Key a long time ago for our Symphony sailing on October 30th. I’ve yet to receive an email like this, but I am liking those perks. 
 

I called them up about half a month ago and was told the Key Lunch was being extended, looks like they’re changing that to room service, which I like.

Thanks @DanielBfor the heads up. I just checked and the Key is being offered for my cruises on the Anthem. I purchased it for my Nov cruises so far. I’ll see how it goes and keep an eye on the price for the future.
