Jared M. Posted March 9, 2019 Report Posted March 9, 2019 I hear that there is a dry dock for Grandeur of the Seas over the next 2-3 weeks. Does anyone have an idea what is going to happen in this dry dock--like any minor or major renovations or will this just be for maintenance? I am going onboard this ship in the near future and I am just curious of what is happening during this dry dock. Quote
Pima1988 Posted March 9, 2019 Report Posted March 9, 2019 I have been told it is just for maintenance, no refurbishment. Lady G will get a major overhaul in 2020 or 2021 (can't recall) Quote
coneyraven Posted March 11, 2019 Report Posted March 11, 2019 Strictly maintenance, plus, replace some carpeting .... as for the major over hall, I'm hearing the latter half of April. (there are bookings available in March & early April) Quote

Does she have all the bells & whistles of the newer ships? Nope, but in our eyes, that's a good thing ...... it's just the two of us, so, the fewer kids, the better in terms of our ability to just relax. JennyB and imastuart 1 1 Quote

Steve_ Posted March 15, 2019 Report Posted March 15, 2019 Well, Lady G should be coming out of dry dock very soon as she is expected in Baltimore for a sailing Friday morning. Let you know if we see anything new... coneyraven and spiralqueen 2 Quote
twangster Posted March 16, 2019 Report Posted March 16, 2019 John Blair and wife have been posting some FB video and pics from their dry dock and tour highlighting the marine maintenance under the water line in the dry dock. https://www.facebook.com/john.blair.1401 FlowBro Ty and Frogfanatic 2 Quote
WAAAYTOOO Posted March 16, 2019 Report Posted March 16, 2019 The sound on these videos isn't working for me. Quote
ThyriC Posted March 16, 2019 Report Posted March 16, 2019 I squealed like a little girl watching those videos of just how interesting it is to see something you never get a chance to see, even on behind the scenes tours you dont see these things. twangster and JennyB 2 Quote
ThyriC Posted March 16, 2019 Report Posted March 16, 2019 @WAAAYTOOO on the bottom right of the video do you see a muted audio? Took me a min to find it myself. Quote

Hoski Posted March 21, 2019 Report Posted March 21, 2019 So I looked at Royal's website and the pictures of the cabins look awesome but all the passenger photos look nothing like that. It's kind of deceptive. Quote

It's kind of deceptive. I think they use the same photos fleet wide as samples of what you can expect with the different classes .... I call them stock photos. As for deceptive? unless there's a disclaimer saying there may be differences from the picture -- I can't disagree with that thought process. Hoski 1 Quote
AlohaLivin Posted March 21, 2019 Report Posted March 21, 2019 Yesterday I was told that she is on her way back! I am onboard in May so I am happy to see her ready and able Quote
KJ1231 Posted March 21, 2019 Report Posted March 21, 2019 Co-worker sails on her this weekend - Baltimore to CCC via Port Canaveral. **jealous** Quote
Susie Posted March 21, 2019 Report Posted March 21, 2019 Glad to hear she get some work done. As you see she was my second home. We sailed her 5 times because so close to my house. However, not sure I will sail her again because of not much for my son who is 6 years old to do. I wish RC put some slide or splash away for kids on her. Quote
twangster Posted March 22, 2019 Report Posted March 22, 2019 According to marinetraffic.com she is back home in Baltimore. Quote
SSimm Posted January 19, 2020 Report Posted January 19, 2020 Does anyone know if you need to bring some European plug adapters for Grandeur? We were on Enchantment of the Seas this past summer and found that only 2 of the 4 plugs were US and they didn’t allow surge protectors. TIA. Quote
WAAAYTOOO Posted January 19, 2020 Report Posted January 19, 2020 Sure, you can bring European converters. Just be sure that your devices are dual voltage. You will burn up your hair dryer using a Euro converter unless the device is rated for 220. Quote
